Which machine fits your needs better? The most expensive or least expensive Vitamix? Or maybe one in the middle? Thanks for watching! (And a quick note, the screen on the A3500 doesn't blink like that in real life, that was my cameras shutter capturing that!)
I have an explorian. I'm kind of a minimalist with cooking achiness. It is fine for me. I process veggies for salads. I made pancakes, smoothies, salad dressings. I am very happy with the explorian. Advanced Vitamix models are like self driving cars. I'd rather be in charge.
One thing you didn’t mention is that the e310 not only has a smaller container but that is narrower, which is why I got it. You can do smaller batches with the e310. As a single person I don’t want to make smoothies for 2. I was looking for something that would do smaller batches without the need for an additional container. Also, while you do need to pay more, you can upgrade the 5 year warranty to 8 years when you purchase the blender, which I did.
I bought my Vitamin used approximately 13-14 years ago, off of Craigslist. The woman I bought it from said she'd had it for 20 years. So, I guess it's just about 35 years old now. She sold it to me for $100 and the only thing wrong with it was one of the rubber feet was missing. I just put a plastic pillbox under it and have never bothered to look for a replacement. It' works just fine. Oh, also, the lid is missing the plastic cap that covers the tamper hole. If I think I'm gonna cause a spray I place a saucer over it. No problem. I only ever rev it up that fast when I'm cleaning it. I have looked many times into buying a brand new one; I can even afford it now! But I just can't do it because I don't spend money I don't NEED to spend! So as much as I might like a smaller profile jar, I'm not spending $150 for it when I don't need to. So I bought a 20 year old Vitamix and am still using it 14 years later. Not bad!
I recently bought my Vitamix 750 for $550 because I've been wanting one ever since I started having daily smoothies since March 2021. My Oster was good, but it couldn't take it anymore and was spewing out black "dust" and it wanted to retire. The Oster's motor was 450 watts and my new Vitamix 750 is I think 1200 watts of power. I love the 64 oz. Vitamix container, and the lid is very easy to take off and put on (this was a big concern of mine) and it makes BIGGER batches of smoothies (an additional (2) 8 oz. cups over the Oster blender). Now I put in my smoothies a whole celery bunch, 2 cups Kale, 2 bananas, 1/2 English cucumber, nutritional yeast, cinnamon, and chocolate protein powder - these yields (6) 8 oz. cups of smoothies for me that last 3 days in the refrigerator. It used to take me 30 to 45 minutes to make smoothies in the Oster blender (includes prepping, cutting into smaller sizes, blending each round of veggies and finally cleaning and taking apart blender to clean each piece). Now it takes me 3 to 5 minutes (includes prepping, total blending and cleaning container). health
I was in the same boat when I graduated college, had a cheap blender that just couldnt keep up anymore so I started researching blenders. And it lead down this rabbit hole of testing a ton of different blenders! Haha. The difference really is huge, throwing whole ingredients into a Vitamix vs cutting everything up for a cheap blender and still not getting great results. Especially the more tougher ingredients like the celery! Congrats on the new. machine!
Thanks for the video. Earlier this year when I was shopping for a blender, I considered the following: Vitamix A3500 blender $600 Vitamix A2500 blender $500 Vitamix 5200 blender $429 Vitamix E310 blender $300 Ninja BL610 blender $80
We can live in hope. BUT saying that Vitamix is a bonza blender. I have had two. Cheaper one and the super model. All I can say is it is still noisey. But we are talking industrial. It is less noisy in a shopping centre because of vastness of space, but domestic it is like a moon launch. My final comment, the big baby could possible grind cement...but I am not going to try that. It is noisy it will always be noisy but to get a quick smooth blend I am stuck on Vitamix. I don't need a copper one or a colour coordinated one, just one that works, works fast and makes me happy at the end. PS. My dog hates it, but who the hell asks their dog if they like blenders. 🎉❤😊
Hey there Annette, thanks for the suggestion! What type of videos would you like to see? I'm going to start making more videos for this channel, so open to suggestions. Thanks, Keith.
I have the Explorian E320. I love it. I have the 64 oz lower profile pitcher. I have bought the 48 oz pitcher too. I even bought one that muddles. Love that for lemonade. 😊😊😊 I also bought the scale. I don't mind the noise. I also have a Ninja.
Because of the horrible Vita-Mix marketing, this video is just wrong: The best Vita-Mix blender is actually the Vita-Prep 3. It only shows up on the "Commercial Products" section. It's buried. It costs $683 as of 11/23. Peak 3 HP motor and tons of cooling. It's a beast that makes the other "consumer" Vita-Mix blenders look like expensive but cheap toys.
I don’t know if you already purchased one, but the Ascent series is still very loud. I’ve not compared, but as someone who owns an Ascent blender, I can say the high power levels required for smoothies is very loud
@@madeleine363 As the owner of a black stainless A3500, I agree with your evaluation. The Accent series is my fourth Vitamix blender, and while I have not observed the different models side by side with a decibel reader, I would say the difference, if any, is negligible. That said, I absolutely love my A3500.
VITAMIX is anything but reliable. After a while your highly likely run into the problem that your container does not get recognised. In my case right after purchase, basically right after unpacking, the container was not recognised. Vitamix sent me a new one but I should have already known that the design is flawed. Now, after 2.5 years, same issue, but no warranty! Meaning, the Vitamix is useless. Go for something more basic and reliable. The autodetect function is a big mess. I do not know how they could introduce such a fragile tech to the market. Go for the older version which I had earlier and was satisfied about. The new one is my opinion a scandal
I have had my Vitamix E320 for over 6 years. My son makes smoothies almost every day & sometimes twice. It's an amazing machine & definitely worth the investment.
Pro 750 heritage series with true stainless metal base casing. Love. I’ve had it since summer 2016. Wish they would bring this back. Not everyone wants the digital one that can be temperamental and register errors/not recognize the container and then run.
Update…I bought the a3500 in brushed stainless steel finish. I do love it but still love my Pro 750 heritage and am keeping her too. Best of both worlds.
I got the 750 that has some different settings : soup, smoothie and clean. There are a few more that I almost never use. But it’s great for smoothies, soup and cleaning setting. Also get the 32 oz container with a tamper. It’s really worth it.
The 750 has the identical settings as the a3500, same motor etc. It’s a powerhouse. IMO superior because you don’t get errors and issues registering containers, plus you can get the 32oz container which is better IMO. I have bit the 48oz and the 32oz and 32oz blends better. Now…I also have the 48oz stainless steel and tend to use that more often, but that is because I prefer the material.
Very informative video! You didn't mention anything about the tamper. Does it come with entry series? or, just the Ascent? Can the tamper be used in smaller containers as well as the larger ones? Thanks.
good video, 1 thing you forgot to mention is with the new smart series u cant use the older containers from previous models cuz they need a chip to work
Contact their customer service, I've heard great things about it. Obviously it's out of warranty, but they can probably still help you with any questions regarding repairs or may even do repairs for you for a bit of extra money. Definitely cheaper than getting a new one. I've been researching these a lot since I just bought one, and great customer service has been a point that kept coming up, so I'm sure it's worth a shot :)
I bought the 5200 about the same time, and my center knob is loose, falling off, and my motor has a screeching sound when doing something thick. It can't do peanut butter anymore without over-heating. Now it has started throwing my breaker from time to time. So I'm thinking the Explorian 320.
I have the legacy 5200 and it looks just like your cheap one only has the tall 64oz jar, which is what I selected. I wanted simplicity and it’s perfect. You go on about the noise, well it’s basically noise free compared to a Blendtec. Horrible blender. I love my Vitamix. You get what you pay for. Quality..
Very helpful, thank you. For the 3500, can you really walk away though while a program is running? It looks to me that that blender jar is not actually fixed in place (4:27), is it safe to leave it unattended?
I got a2300 with the food processor attachment on eBay for 439. Still learning all the ways to use it. Also got the spatula on Amazon. Great when making nut butter
I like vitamix and I watch and looking for a year and think to much for my cost, I aware for size for puton the counter top, under cabinet what size for A3500 if I put complete set on the top, another things are can I change the container to small size like 48 oz.
The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud ru-vid.comUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!
Also the motor size. The e320 is a full 2.2ho like the others while the e310 is 2hp. Where this makes a difference is the smaller motor is not designed to use with a larger container than 48oz because of the extra power needed for torque on a 4” vs 3” blade. If you get 320 and want to buy a secondary smaller container (it comes with 64oz), you can. If you buy 310 and want larger, it is not recommended (by Vitamix). It can void your warranty.
@@arwamo4948 yeah, the motors on the super expensive vs Costco and cheaper ones is basically the same, Like 0.5 horsepower more and obviously the look but i have q cheaper one and yes, you can make Nut Milks, butters, ice cream, and hot soups just fine!
Huh, great job on this video. It’s made well, I kind of figured this was a channel that’s been going on for years cause it’s made so well. So, great job on the video production and review! I debated on the high end and low end of the vitamin machines. I ended up going with the high end one, honestly just to future proof myself with all the detectable attachments and stuff like that. Also for the stainless steel look. I’m honestly a bit skeptical about the preprogrammed settings, but I’m willing to try it and see if I find them useful. :) Nice job!
Congrats on the new Vitamix! It's a really powerful machine and you'll have it for years. Use mine multiple times a week to make quick meals when I don't feel like cooking. As for the preprogrammed settings, I absolutely love them as I can put stuff in the blender and walk away but they do make the price higher of an already expensive machine. Just depends if its something you want! Thanks for the kind words, Keto! Really appreciate it!
Good review but I can’t shake the feeling that Vitamix reviews are a little like the Emperor Has No Clothes. No one ever questions the downsides. You pay $700 or more for a machine and yet: 1) you still have to guard again overheating - this should be automatic 2) The motor noise is insane, 3) you need to use a tamper (to help the blender) despite all the technology and blade sharpness and 4) you pay for your warranty… basically the less expensive machines aren’t built to the same standards so they’re sold with half the warranty. I know they’re great products but honestly, why do people only hear Vitamix evangelists and never the critics.
I have had my Vitamix E320 for over 6 years. My son makes smoothies almost every day & sometimes twice. It's an amazing machine & definitely worth the investment. I have a Ninja & while I do love the bowl for mixing batters, I was never satisfied with the smoothies. I wanted the consistency that I get from the store. The Vitamix gives me that. I can get a great smoothie whenever I want at home. This was definitely a game changer!!
