I have spend some time filming and photographing the Cormorants in Denmark in the areas around Copenhagen.
I wanted to make an episode with visuals and facts of this loved & hated bird. The footage is mainly from a location called Vaserne and from Gilleleje harbor in Northern Zealand in Denmark.
The gear used to make alle the visuals, speaks etc. are Sony A1, Sony G-master 600mm f4 with and without teleconverters and and on a video tripod from E-image and also the DJI pocket 2 and the fantastick Mini 3 pro drone.
Dont forget to like, share and subscribe!

Ngl cormorants don't really deserve to be hated and not only that they are also quite friendly towards humans

In China, fishermen share a mutual cooperation with these great birds by feeding them while they help them catch even more fish.

Cormorant most hated? Yeah, no. Let's talk about pigeons, grackles and seagulls. I've never seen a cormorant destroy a freshly washed sidewalk or car or steal your picnic snacks from your hand...

Hated??? By whom?? Danish people? Sad! These beautiful birds deserve to survive too. “Hated” Is an awfully strong label for such a gorgeous creature that is every bit entitled to survive and thrive in its intended natural habitat.

In the Uk they are known as the "Black Plague" they have colonised inland from about 2000 in the `80s to over 60,000 now and have devastated most rivers and likes, many of which are now devoid of fish due to them.. --that is why they are Hated.

I loved watching these birds off the coast of Mystic, Connecticut as a child. I would count how long they were underwater and try to guess where they'd surface next. Good memories, but it's sad to learn how destructive they are to the fish population.

It’s interesting because it’s broadly understood that many species of animals & insects on Earth harvest needed resources from whatever area they’re in before depleting them and moving onto the next area while those resources naturally replenish themselves over time. This is the natural order of things & it’s accepted as normal… except when it comes to humans. When humans harvest needed resources from whatever area they’re in, it is often said that they are “stealing” those resources from other animals or harvesting them into extinction or scarcity, even though we’ve seen time & time again that gradually the natural world does indeed replenish itself. Even abundantly harvested oil fields appear to replenish over time. It may take longer than we’d like & we humans are very impatient creatures but it does happen. Anyway, I just thought that was fascinating.

I had never heard of these wonderful birds before! I was just studying the AV1611 king james bible in the old archiac spelling and comparing the differences to the modern new king james version bible when in Isaiah chapter 34 verse 11 it mentions the Comorant. I had to google it to find out what kind of creature it was and ended up here. God bless you and thank you for sharing such beautiful images of these birds with all of us! I will subscribe as i just love to see and learn about more amazing creatures all over the world. God really made such wonderful animals, birds, marine creatures and insects etc. Sadly just like this Comorant many birds and animals here in Australia are despised - I cannot understand it. I often think about how Jesus said that the things that are esteemed by man are an abomination to God (fame power money wealth manmade stuff...) i think well surely the things man despises like these wonderful creatures are highly esteemed by God- they are absolutely wonderful! When i think of heaven i think of a paradise filled with all the birds and animals and trees and everything how it was in the beginning before mankind wrecked it. Its interesting how humans hate birds eating the fish but its ok for them to fish entire schools of fish out of the ocean and leave nothing for the sea creatures or birds and then sadly so much ends up at the tip and or wasted not even eaten by humans. Humans can be so ignorant, selfish and greedy. I can only hope videos like this will open peoples eyes to see how beautiful and magnificent these creatures are so they would grow in respect and understanding and appeciate them and be more tenderhearted.

New viewer here. Beautiful video in California. We don’t have the Great Cormorant, but we do have three other species: the Brandt’s and Pelagic found only in coastal waters, and the Double-crested, found both on coastal waters and in inland waters. I’ve never heard that they were called the most hated bird in the world, but then again I’ve never talked with a commercial fisherman about this. anyway great video. Keep up the good work.

Yes the always abundant and most easiest bird to get started in bird wildlife photography here in the USA in the great state of Florida found in the Everglades National Park area. They have cast iron stomachs as I seen them catch fish half their size flip them in the air and swallow them whole. No table manners at all but fun to photograph. BTW what Sony lens and tele-converter combination was used so I get an idea of distance from subject. Thanks in advance, good job.
