In China, Zongman has a dozen cormorants that fish for him, obey his voice, and follow him wherever he goes. Cormorants bring back several kilos of fish every day. Director: Frédéric Fougea Series: The Lords of the Animals
One of the most amazing documentaries; bonding between humans, animals, nature. Even more amazing is the contentment and commitment to keep the tradition alive. He is training his grandson.
This state of oneness between man and animals is nothing short of awe-inspiring. I watch with amazement, admiration and wonder. Beautiful, just beautiful. Thanks for sharing this gem of a documentary.
Yes! I grew up in the Keys and had one who loved swimming with me and the other kids, he loved diving with us and we never fed him, he was in it for the company
This is truly the best documentary I have ever seen. I was like thrown out of my childhood moment, Thanks best documentary. Hope the best for Mr. Zongman and his Birds. Such a wonderful creature indeed. God bless
One of the best documentaries I've ever watched. I love nature and just wish I could travel and watch how our world interacts and so many of us are oblivious to the fantastic things that are happening all over Mother Earth. Amazing!
I Certainly agree with you. This gave me so much hope that maybe some things aren’t as completely screwed up as we sometimes think. Particularly nice to note that this is happening in China and Central Ancient China at that. So even in ultra-modern China where many Bad Things appear to be happening there are things like this carrying on just like maybe 1200 years ago.
One of the best down to earth 🌍 Man & Family's all these years for a 1000 years back rounds... truly the Lord of happiness humble 😊👍 & great for every One to learn... and pleasant to see him joyful 😊 with his amazing lovely birds performances together till the End.
I am very impressed with the old man, he can train birds to be very smart in catching fish while diving in the river. May you have a lot of sustenance and always be given health🤲
I don't see he is old. He is very brisk and hale compared to our weak generation today. Moving waters had much negative ions that health the body naturally and Zongman is just a man full of that who lives an active life on outdoors.
the cormorants see him as their biological father and he also sees him as his son. When humans are in harmony with nature, it is wonderful. Such good things should be preserved forever.
A simply amazing insight into Mr Zong man and his Cormorants. I'm sure his Grandson is listening carefully so as to understand the language of the Cormorants so he too can be a master fisherman like his Granpa. 10/10 for quality thank you for this outstanding Documentary,💯♥🇦🇺👍👌😉
China is amazing country I did 6 years there back from 2004 to 2011 I been everywhere in China 🇨🇳 I loved it there very much now I live in Thailand 🇹🇭🤗✌🏾🎩👊🏾
Amazing!!! A friendship of man , animal and nature / environment , each preserves each . How I wish this remains through-out the world , so that nature will always be kind to us .
21.43 - 24.21 is the most interesting part when Zongman cannot and would not sleep in order to maintain vigilance towards newly hatch eggs, and to take care for them... The statement that Zongman lived like this for a thousand years and there is no reason to change is very important, because it highlights their distinctive way of life.
Thankyou for your documentary, beatifull place, people, animals, gracias a los que filman y documentan con tanyo profecionalismo, aqui en los lagos al norte de Georgia USA los veo nadando en grupos saludos mil gracias..
This is just to cool! I could easily spend the next week watching 100 or more videos on this subject. This is the most amazing thing I've seen on RU-vid possibly ever

Enormous appreciation from me in London. Actually this is where I am from, and it reminds me all the best childhood memories back in this small village in Guilin, China.
I've heard the fish caught by the cormorants are actually more expensive at the market than the fish caught by other means. People can tell by the peculiar nicks left on the fish's bodies from the bird's beaks. don't know why they're preferred though! Magnificent animals... awesome documentary :)
I used to read a story about Cormorant Bird used to catch fish in an unique way in China, when I was still in third year of elementary school in 1974. Now, youtube filmed it making this amazing bonding with their master so well-known.
Of all documentaries the Cormorants , are the best.. More catch , and wake me up later when you will be back with fish in your beak... Love you cormorants...
Cormorants are fascinating. One time I rescued an oil-covered Brandt's Cormorant on the Oregon coast, taking it wrapped in paper towels, placed under the car heater, to an Oregon bird rehab center. I was shocked at the protective clothing worn by the rescue workers, including elbow length thick gloves and they were shocked I hadn't been severely injured by my oily friend! They assured me he should recover okay after a wash in Dawn detergent, as he wasn't terribly debilitated!
I like how grandpa teaches grandson the cormorant business. He can only learn the language of the birds when young. Thank you for this insight into their very esoteric world.
Mesmerizing 😊 Natural way of fishing that keeps ecology in balance. Nowadays people use modern technology that somewhat pollutes nature. Love to Zongman ❤
Its inspiring to see how happy some people can be by living a simple life compared to the complicated stress of a modern city life. This documentary is one of the good ones i've seen in a while, thank you.
You just can't say enough about the fascinating rapport humans can have with birds and mammals, whether in the wilds or domesticated. One of the many pleasures we get watching videos like this.
I have never forgotten the wonder of the Ukai fishermen on the Nagsra River fishing by torchlight in Gifu, Japan 🗾 Thank you for this involved perspective.
No surprise to me. If you know God created us in His own image, you know that these abilities have already been incorporated in us. We've just given them up to the technologies, but the chinese are keeping them.
