Great video Shawn 👍🏾About 6 months ago my putting from 8ft and in was pretty bad, then I adopted your method of choosing an intention and then letting gravity take control. It has transformed my putting and I no longer try to steer the ball towards the hole. Thanks Shawn, hoping one day you make it to the UK for a face to face lesson someday 😅👊🏾
I tried this out today on the course...it worked! Thank you so much! My partners were surprised at the accuracy of my putts, often single putts and occasionally two putts.
@@golflessons LOL: if I could win money like that, I wouldn't have partners anymore!...and my whole game needs improvement before I take on challenges...but, it's an encouraging fantasy!
I would be trapped in the rabbit hole much longer (and perhaps forever) if I never watched your putting video. The secret to following this amazingly simple method is to keep replaying how the ball will enter the hole for the last 4-5 feet in the imaginary side vision even after we turn our head and face the golf ball. Our brains are amazing and thank you Shawn for always reminding us of that!!
I’d like to thank you for your great videos and clear instructions as my game has turned a corner as my drives are much better and going further , second shots hitting well , putting much more accurate in direction and speed still need work chipping but I will work on it via your videos and Thanks Again b
I've been messing around with object oriented putting on putts inside of 10 feet. Line it up, visualize, look at the hole, stroke it. Works really well on straightish putts, still working on sliders.
Thank you for re-affirming to focus on seeing the put in the hole. Remembering to only focus on what I need to do and not thinking about missing, especially when I'm on in 2 with a 4-5ft put is where I struggle most. Also, you mentioned a workout video that's done via Facebook, can you provide that information and the Facebook page to go to for it. Thank you.
Basically how I putt. USE your imagination to its fullest, to visualize the entire roll of the putt. Then, TRUST your imagination 100%. Never worry about the outcome. You’ll make a lot of putts if you just execute what you imagined.
I'm a decent putter up to and until I have a brain freeze hole. I had a very long uphill putt that I left 15 feet short. The next putt I blew way past and wound up missing the next putt for a 4 putt. The rest of the day I was making multiple 15 foot putts mixing 1 and 2 putts in. How do I stop the brain freeze holes? Nothing worse than 3 putting but even worse is 4 putting.
@@golflessons I think my last thought was don't 3 putt. I seemed to have forgotten the length and the steepness uphill of the putt. I think that the greens still had the early morning dew on them, if I remember correctly. The greens on this course are normally very fast but not that first putt.
This tip is soo good, but I guess most won't do it... I remember when I was playing in a competition but had a case of yips in my putting. Nevertheless I decided that would use this focus on all my putts. Putted excellent through the round until one player commented on my yippy stroke, After that I mostly thought of not yipping it and the last holes were less good.... :)
It's your friendly Mr. threeputt chocker. Just the thought of putting makes my heart race and pushes me to the edge of panic attacks. My muscles tense up and my hands tremble and I feel like passing out. I want to be a good putter and have tried everything that I know of only to end up with poor results. Distance control goes out the window. How can someone smash drive after drive down the fairway hit most greens and end up being the worlds most horrible putter ? I don't know man. Maybe it's one of those Charles Barkley things. Maybe it's a mental issue or perhaps I am truly defective. Maybe it could be one simple image or thought that could help.Frick I dunno. I do know one thing for sure. If I ever figure it out it will be from listening to one of the best golf instructors on the planet. Yep that's you. Thanks Shawn
@@golflessons I'm a righty. In my full swing I do feel like the left side pulls everything thru. My full swing is absolutely blissful. I have never hit so many repeatable solidly compressed shots every single time. If I could even 2 putt every hole I would easily shoot under par continuously. I would not want to change my full swing in any way but when it comes to my putting I'm all ears. Oh god now the gears are turning. The gears are turning orange with smoke rolling off them. Could a left handed putter be the answer ? The wife just made me throw out a truck load of clubs and putters . Yea I completely filled the bed of my truck with these clubs. None of these were left handed. I'm not left handed but I'm desperate and will try just about anything. I wonder if golf galaxy or club champion sells left handed putters. Maybe just maybe you have opened up a new door too conquer my putting woes. When it comes to putting I must rethink everything . Thanks Shawn
