Unfair accusation. He thought the ball was in the fielder's glove and the play over. Do you expect hitters to run after the out is made? How about while the players are jogging off the field at the end of the inning. That too?
@@jimwerther In baseball you look and listen for the ump to make an out or safe call. The umpire made no call , but Casey guessed the third basemen caught it anyways. You run until the umpire calls you out it’s basic baseball knowledge learned at 6 years old
Due to the physics involved, I think you are right. He was still holding the bat at impact then milliseconds later it slipped from his grip. (That would be an interesting physics test. Could this generate a home run if he let go before hitting the ball).
You should add Hunter pence hitting a pitch 3 times in one swing as his bat bends then breaks- Angel pagans walk off in the park home run was good too-
I threw out a hitter from left field once, it was one of the best moments I’ve ever had on a baseball field! Very exciting, even if the guy was the slowest player in the league.
on Monday i was going against the best team in the league and they got a play on home but there was someone at second base so he was running to third which is my position so the catcher thew thew the ball to me and i tripped and i tagged the runner without the ball in my glove so he thought he was out while i was on the ground i saw the ball wasint in my glove so i grabbed it and got him out right in time while i was on the ground.
I remember my paternal Grandfather (B. 1881, D. 1962) telling me when I was a kid that Ty Cobb used to throw out runners at first from the outfield. I miss him and his stories.
@@donarthiazi2443 My favorite player growing up was Mickey Mantle but Grandpa rather disdained home run hitters. The 3 players about whom he spoke with reverence were Cobb, Honus Wagner, and Tris Speaker. I'm 75 now and I identify with my Grandpa when I talk about the '50s Yankees with Casey Stengel as manager or watching Ernie Banks play for the woeful Cubs or the excitement when the White Sox won the '59 pennant. I'm old now but, should I make it to 80, THEN I'll be ancient.
@@donarthiazi2443 I thank you, sir. I only got to see Mickey live at Sox park once, about '68 when he was past his prime. He was at first base and it was 0-0 going to the bottom of the 9th. The first Sox batter hit a hard grounder that Mickey mishandled. A bunt and a single later, the Sox won. It was sad, he wasn't what he once was, but...DAMN he looked impressive at the plate. Mickey was my favorite but he best player I ever saw was Willie Mays. Before the game, he was shagging flies and catching them behind his back, easily. In BP, he was roping shot after shot off the walls and into the bleachers. That was in 1957, I was only 8, but it was something I'll never forget. PS, He did the same thing to Cub pitching as he did in BP, plus stealing bases. Again, the BEST I ever saw. Regards.
You didn't explain WHAT was only the third time in baseball history. Answer: That the LFer threw out the runner by force play at first base. Of course no records were kept on this for the first many decades of baseball history, so we don't know that either.
@@cubsfanman-nx6pg Really not. He described the play as it happened, which was the ball ripping off the top of the third baseman's glove, and Casey mistakenly thinking that the third baseman caught the ball, which is why he stopped running. That is several pieces of information, none of which is related to baseball history or third time anything.
@@Jivvi You think? I really doubt that. For one thing, I suspect there has never been such a play recorded in haseball history. For another, 7-3s are not rare? Who's running, grandma?
5-7-3 is so rare it's only happened 3 times in recorded MLB history. And no it wasn't your grandma running, it was a man that thought the 3rd baseman caught the ball and didn't run. It was all in the video.
In Todd Fraiser's case he absolutely DIDN'T THROW the bat at the ball, the bat made contact with the ball before he lost his grip on the bat and it flies out of his hands.
Not sure if review was allowed or challenged but I'm pretty sure if you throw the bat into the field of play during a hit it is an out.. just curious if I'm right or wrong.. but I'm not sure if people on the internet comment section light to voice their opinion and berate someone with a different opinion or uncertainty on a specific rule amongst all the different rules 😁
What are the odds of you being in a relationship that is going on in the next few months that you’re not gonna get a divorce or a job because you’re going through something like this I just don’t know how long it takes for that and then I have a feeling you don’t have any friends or friends or family to be with you so you have a good life to be in a marriage that is going to happen in a few months I think I think I have to be married and then you can be a good friend of yours but you don’t want me
That's why I hare these players today who stand at home plate and admire their work for 5 seconds before they decide to run! In the old days they would be taken out of the game by the manager!
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17) For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. (2 Corinthians 7:10) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5)
