That's a lot more expensive than what I would have guessed, holy. If it were available in Germany I reckon it'd easily cost over 3500€, maybe close to 4000€, because companies like pricing their GPUs so that you end up paying ~20% more for the same GPU in Germany compared to the USA (1€ is still more than $1, about $1.06 right now). That would be at least twice or thrice the money any average person here is going to earn, post-tax.

2:08 There is another problem that you didn't mention, Liquid Metal (LM) eats bare copper. In 1-2 years you will see your temps go up and you will have to reapply LM to bring your card back to spec. If you decide to purchase this card I would replace the LM with Thermal Grizzly's KryoSheet on day one and never have to service it again. Bottom line, ASUS should have nickel plated the block.

Good mention but I guess if you have the money for this card you probably have the money to upgrade every 2 years/new gpu cycles…..
@BansheeBunny
@BansheeBunny Год назад
@@isocle The KryoSheet runs about 2C hotter than liquid metal, beats every paste on the market and PTM 7950. KryoSheet never dries out, so it will last the life of your device just like PTM 7950. PTM 7950 is not sold to the public so you have to go through an entity that will cut it down to size, repackage and sell it to you. This drives up cost and exposes its sales to fraud. modDYI sells authentic PTM 7950 just shy of three times the cost of KryoSheet. PTM 7950 is on par with high performance paste. The downsides of KryoSheet is that it is conductive and if you need to remount your cooler, you will have to buy another one. You should use conformal coating on any SMDs around the chip you are cooling with it.

What. Why? The surface that matter won't oxidize as it's sealed. The rest can oxidize and it wouldn't matter.
@Blu9ty
@Blu9ty Год назад
@@ivyr336 it doesn’t oxidize the liquid metal will combine with copper and form an alloy that will ruin cooling because there’s no real conductor for the heat to get to the block and you’ll have to reapply the LM to the GPU. This is something that asus laptops also deal with often. It’s just chemistry and they don’t care I guess.
@Blu9ty

When I think "full coverage" I think water channels over the components. Not just a plate of metal that is cooled by a separate part that's cooled by water. Like the difference between a back plate, a backplate with thermal pads, and an active backplate.

If i could get this as a watercooled card without the aio i would , the design would look sick in a hard tube design

Despite the FE being the loudest card out of these 3, it has by far the most pleasant sound profile and makes the impression of being the quietest

The only sound you're hearing with the MSI Liquid is the coil whine, which goas away after a month of usage. (My guess is this specific MSI Liquid was kept on a shelf and not used that much, so it still has coil whine)

it will look more cool if Asus add more RGB support for the printed letters on the front as well.

The design is great, but one aspect of watercooling is that you can end up with a smaller card suited for sff builds. This is not exactly space saving. And I'd have liked to see a comparison with a properly blocked 4090 using a heatkiller block.

This is a commercial, not a review. He's trying to sell it and highlight it's most positive aspects, not objectively look at it. People seemed to not realize most RU-vidrs are advertising, not reviewing.
@TechWithNiccolo
@TechWithNiccolo Год назад
@@mangaas he is not sponsored, and buys every item he reviews, or makes videos of, himself. This is a review no matter how you look at it - the depth at which he goes into reviewing it is another story. In no way did I feel like he was trying to sell me into this product, he just showcased a new, cool, pretty overkill product.

I didn’t expect it to have just less than 10 fps difference than the regular 4090. I’ll definitely play cyberpunk again once I can afford 4k and oled. Beautiful game.
@bluephoenix1525

you say you're surprised that the matrix uses less power, this shouldn't come as a surprise as when silicon is at a lower temperature it has a higher efficiency meaning that it give the same or better performance for the same or even less power consumption. increase power limits and you should see the card boosting even higher. this is why overclockers like watercooling and having big thick radiators with lots of high static pressure high rpm fans. this also partially explains the difference in coil whine, keeping things colder means they'll run at different frequencies. it's also a result of having a different housing to resonate though. there's a few other factors but those are the most important ones.

Can you confirm that liquid metal on bare copper is a "real" issue, and if ASUS has accounted for this in their design? I'm also curious why the water block does not have flow over the VRAM and power components. Especially at this price point, I'd expect that this product had been very well engineered...but, some nagging questions seem to be popping up.
