i like how the protagonist clearly sees a ghost /person in his house and the only thing he thinks about it "welp, time to get back to online dating" and then when he finally scores and the girl invites him over he suddenly gets suspicious of the lass?? this dudes mind is an enigma.
@@ripsouljax4159 You're way more annoying. He's literally right, it's third person; nothing wrong with correcting something. People can't say anything anymore.
Bruh that "I'm your sister" reveal was the biggest jumpscare in the entire video. Girl had my man Daniel acting unwise on Tinder only to crush his only motivation to defeat Grandma.
I was trying to rationalize it for my man Daniel but I just couldn’t😭 the game was so boring I was hoping he’d at least get laid, and that twist killed all interest I had in the game
tbf, there are surge protectors with backup batteries. we have one for ours, though i'm pretty sure the poor thing starts screaming when it detects an outage so we know to turn off the computer lol
@@MrUssy101white knighting over a degenerate content creator you will never meet is the most turbo cringe and delusional behavior, you must be so chronically online that your brain melted out of your ears long ago
this game is the perfect example of "we need to get better graphics, and a insane amount of polygons, but a red bull and lollipop as budget for the story."
Modern engines and access to asset stores make "good" graphics pretty easy to achieve. I guess they spent their money on the voice actors and maybe 3D modellers (if those arent from the asset store) because pretty much everything else is bad.
@@hanspeter731 im pretty sure everything here is an ue asset store flip. from animation to 3d models to coding. so they only really worked on the story and voice acting...which they might have used an ai for...
The game sold itself on its graphics over 2 years ago when they released the tech-demo. People thought it was actually gonna be good just based on that.@@rodolfo_rlf
The "main character" has never felt so much like an npc than in this game. He is quite literally the guards you'd attack that would go back to patrolling after a moment in stealth lol
14:48 "The whole world is descending into freaky mode and we've got front row seat tickets." is totally a sentence Charlie would say, its got that moist pizazz, the same kind of word choice. 😂
I feel that the protagonist's only real connection being a stranger on a dating app says more about the developer('s) than the story they are trying to portray. Also, dude witnesses a haunting 3 times and decides to go right back to his computer, a true gamer indeed. And all of a sudden it becomes a 3rd person shooter?! Damn what is the name of this master piece?
This is one of those games that seemingly has a weird amount of effort put into it, making the "lack" of effort even weirder. I'd assume it's partially because these games are basically asset dumps with some sprinkles on top.
Seems like to me a Hello Neighbor situation, the older version (by which I mean the demo from a year ago) look, felt, and played much better. Also the story was complete different, this version feels like a fanfiction of itself. Sad to see it deteriorated like this. I wonder what happened behind the scenes, bc it used to be p promising. :(
The grand finale is Daniel putting every ounce of his strength, grunting and moaning, bracing his hips and offensive lineman shoulder rushing a chair on wheels that can't weigh more than 25 lbs. If a toddler tried to brace himself on it to help himself walk, it would have rolled away from him.
I mean I’ve been putting all my work into 3D tbh yah with motion capture & unreal engine u can make this fairly easily just follow some tutorials for how to program stuff but yah your gonna end up seeing a lotta games great graphics but just held together with jank
@@ic4192 it’s not really that it’s that most triple A studios just milk n really dumb down games as time goes on rather then up the challenge in good ways or up the quality of stuff so it’s up to a lotta indie devs now, u can make original stuff for unreal like anything I can make in unity can be made in unreal it’s just until devs figure out the software completely & dip there wallets into expensive plugins n sink tonsa time ur gonna get these bland generic games my biggest pet peeve is they will all look the same cuz no one makes their own assets they just get em all from the unreal marketplace or what’s built in n it makes all the FX all the assets look the same I am waiting to see if the new silent hill game can do unreal Justice but there is a lot I don’t like so I stay away from using it but no it having instant rendering is really useful I just don’t like that it feels like u see a lotta devs who will go this is really good graphics so it’s worth 59.99 & when I am doing like 20 peoples jobs it feels like they are doing 1/3rd of the work I am cuz a lotta those textures & everything down to the models even some of the scary aspects of this game are just re used assets n they had no concept of how to write stuff go here shoot this jump scare here type shit, it is like when they waste that firework affect on a scene where it doesn’t work there u go a nice fire work effect that could be used in a game u now see what the unreal engine fireworks look like on a bogus scene there are ways to tweak and edit them but for the most part that’s what it’ll look like in other games made in unreal and it was just added in with no thought why not make a flare oh help is on the way no imma shoot fireworks good job killing that beast or whatever kinda ruins it for everyone else there was a time and place for fireworks and that was not the time
Holy crap that fireworks scene was familiar and it took me a minute to figure out why. I saw manlybadasshero play through a demo of this game ages ago, and I gotta say for how the game finally turned out that demo was WAY too good.
@@RagerQueen the one manly played was just the park section, not the full game unless I just missed that. Guess they burnt themselves out making the most of the demo?
Today's Fact: The first computer programmer was a woman named Ada Lovelace, who worked with Charles Babbage on his Analytical Engine in the mid-19th century.
the way the main character gets scared and their expression is just so hilarious for some reason. idk what it is but they straight up see a ghost and they respond less of "i just saw a ghost" and more like "i forgot to do my laundry," and then literally forgets everything
Love how their website says "Jukai Studio is an independent game development studio founded by industry veterans who have had a hand in developing critically acclaimed games with specialization in the horror genre. Their mission is to engender the next evolution of interactive horror media." and this is what they deliver its hilarious xd

Usually at the start of a horror with a demon at 1st you're not sure what you see, if it's real, if it's in your head. You start to question everything and everyone around you, build it up. But in this game, at the start you see the ghost like 20 times, stare at it for no reason, it does nothing but show it's self for no reason over and over so you know it's real, and it's a dumb useless ghost immediately.
I really liked the design of the boss at 18:21 , i think it looks pretty good , well the game isn’t that visually terrible but slapping textures on a design doesn’t make it a good design….and id say its a neat design :) Theres not a lot of top heavy horror monsters i can think of in the last couple years, many have been bony and tall, with more evenly distributed mass, but i feel like proportions could be pushed more sometimes. ((If anyone knows some cool horror monster designs please tell me about them :) its my favorite topic))
Maybe he's going with the EDP strat but turned up a notch, he gets the girl to come over and then he's like "you wanna see something hot" and shows them the texas mountain in the toilet.
I remember the trailer/demo for this over a year ago. The game had a few questionable moments but looked great. This game looks like they scrapped the entire project they had, switched to a worse game engine or left it extremely unoptimized. I literally had to watch them side by side in disbelief that this was the same game. Looks like all funding got cut and one dude finished the rest of the project in under a month
Dude I wish he would play a game called Horror Adventure. It's literally almost unplayable, it's so bad. You can't take damage, you can't hurt enemies, the entire game is a walking Sim with random "jumpscares" that, I swear to christ has my 5 year old son giggling. The guy even put on the steam page that the game is procedurally generated, but it totally isn't. Every playthrough is the same. AND the gameplay preview video on steam literally IS NOT THE GAME. It's some other MUCH better looking game that does not exist in the actual game. 😂 it's the king of all bullshots.
I'm 100% sure that's the case. It has multiple horror movie cliche here and there but none of it adds up to make an actual horror game plot. Like, the progression of Martha from being a blind date to a coincidental neighbor, to some girl who knew the MC's past, to her estranged sister, to some kind of an offscreen love interest, really just shows that the script is done with zero human observation.
@@GlassesnMouthplates that's what I'm thinking. like even a boomer who has never gamed in their life would be able to make a story more coherent than this.
He just got the keys yesterday morning, but already had his dirty laundry literally strewn around every room? Between that and an unflushed dookie, I'd call that a big red flag.
I'm surprised that Charlie didn't bring up (at least in this video) that the entire script of this game was obviously written with A.I. It has every horror movie cliche down to the witchcraft, the possessed dad killing his family, the haunted house inheritance, shady grandparents background, character popping out of nowhere turns out to be an estranged family member, and somehow, every event cutscenes and exposition don't seem to connect to each other, and none of the two characters exchange dialogues like actual humans, let alone express actual human reactions when crazy shit is going around them. It's like that A.I. Batman script where Batman ordered Alfred to give birth to Robin while he fights the Joker.
Watching a person silent type while occasionally fiddling with the air, presumably moving a mouse that's about a foot away from his hand, is really riveting gameplay. Also, he appears to be using a modern dating site on an old Pentium 2 computer. Baby probably runs a wicked sick 256mb of ram!
