Nice combo First time in my life I see someone casting off the ground with clamps sink First time in my life I see ground Cast without protecting your finger. Ground cast requires just 180°, not 270° ( until you are an expert and want more distance, in wich case your sink must be placed in the water so you gain this brutal 90° extra degrees.....) Perfect ground cast is not easy: do you want to know when you get it? When the joint between the line and the shock leader breacks sound barrier (very easy to notice, very hard to get that level) This is the way the ones unable to catch up pendullum cast think that are at the same level than those who place half a kilo of sink and bait to 100 m from your position
agreed, not the easist to learn but once perfected oh my let the baits fly, my best measured cast was 240 yards way more than anything I did using the methed shown in the vid, oh how I miss fishing
Goofy taught Max “The Perfect Cast” in 1995 in under 30 Seconds. How else would he have used it at the Powerline Concert mastering the technique allowing Max to impress and gain the attention of his crush, Roxanne!?!
@@hardcoreacIt depends on what your definition of "woke" is, because many older folks believed that Disney era to be too "progressive" at the time. You can Google how A Goofy Movie is considered by many to be the Blackest Disney movie ever. It's all about your perspective.🤷🏽♂️
@@isaaccormack490 recently have been going for catfish but I feel like fishing for fish like bass is more engaging. I’ve been watching a fair amount of videos trying to learn as much as I can.
@@MuckBoyGames I think “commoncents” is trying to insinuate that a rod length of 12 feet is excessive or unusable. I would assume he himself is also new to fishing, as anyone who surf fishes would know 10-13 feet is an average rod length for surf fishing. Large rods are used especially when casting heavier weights.
Face the land with the bait towards the sea. Underhand swipe forward and when the line is taught, spin 180 and continue the swing back towards the ocean and let go. Much more energy this way carries the line farther.
First times I messed with a surf rod as long as this one, I ended up completely slicing the tip of my pointer finger off. The braid I was using just sliced through it like butter. After that I started putting casting triggers on all of my surf rods. Save your skin!
Dunno if it's just a UK thing, but try looking for something called a finger stall. If you have a euro style fishing store, you might also find it being called a spod glove. Literally just a (usually leather) single finger glove held on by a strap. Looks goofy as fuck but you can cast with as much force as you like. Didn't see the point till I cut down to the bone just tightening a knot.
Forget gimmicks, just be more careful to put two fingers around the seat stem of the reel and get the line laying over the extreme tip of your index finger. It can’t hurt you as it will simply slide off the last 2mm of your index finger tip.
Line type, reel, and weight are the biggest factors for me. Put some machine oil lube in the reel (no wd40 ever, must use machine oil lube specifically), use braided line, and for weight, play it by ear, generally heavier the better, but theres a limit to that.
Pendulums more powerful cast. And an otg cast is best if you have your end gear further over your left side. Imagine your 6 on a clock rod tips then at 1 oclock , sit your bait at 4 oclock. Then watch it fly further. Thank me later
So many people need to learn this! The amount of fully baited tackle I've seen just flicked off in the direction of the sunrise/sunset.. 😂😂 Beautiful cast dude.
You don't put the bait and weight on the ground so the line is making a straight line to your rod. You put them so there is an angle of around 45 degrees, sop you get more compression.
Damn I miss my surf fishing. Good to see your still throwing out content... Got a lot of pointers off you on opinions of reels. 👍 Was launching conventionals at age 8... Don't know what it is about surf fishing but 90 percent of the time would rather surf fish than be on a boat Love the channel
I do have to make a small correction as a very seasoned surf angler! The load point that you need your lure/sinker varies from rod to rod you need to find the optimal load point on each rod as what dorks on one isn’t guaranteed to work on another rod also what you’re throwing and how much it weights also effects the rods load up point!
@@BeachBomberFishing me and my buddy were out there to your right (on the other side of Matt sea water) at least I think it was him, we say him snap the tip of his rod wasn’t havin much luck I lost 6 spoons I kept getting stuck
@@BeachBomberFishing been waiting for you to drop was really hoping to come out in a glimpse I’m in a black Magellan with grey shorts I think the back of it says hooked up or something yeah you landed it like 20 minutes after we got there maybe 30 yeah we hit 4 spots no luck😔
I could catch a fish on an 8 foot rod but I'll definitely be attaching the bait to my kayak and paddling out past the breakers. it's a really good way to get the bait out there and you get to surf the waves back in on the way back
It is but you can get long distance cast without using pendulum cast(wont be the same distance)if you know how to use the lever and push technique correctly
@@jonathanfilms408 if you know how to use the lever and push technique correctly, then pendulum cast is the best long distance cast and the powerful cast.
Its more important to make sure its tight on a conventional reel than spin. To do it though, you can either hold the line with a wash cloth/shirt/glove and wrap it around once, to give it more tension when spooling, or what i do, and just keep alot of tension on the spool your spooling off of. Ill see if i can find the video that helped me and leave the link
I’ve done plenty of beach cast competitions used a open Penn 146 or the squidder reels 20 lb test 5 oz on a 13’ passific co medium I also used a 9’ at times and both would fly 100 yards 140 yards no problem
I've done all the beach cast competitions.. and I've never lost. I'm the best beach caster that's ever lived. They call me King Beach Caster. I can throw an easy 1200 yards 1300 yards. I cast so far I often hook ships when I cast and they bring my bait back to shore for me bc I'm the Beach Cast King 🤴
Not if you have a quality really have your casting brakes set properly. I will agree that a fair amount of people out there that don't properly set them up though
The comment section did not disappoint, good job boys 😂😂 S/O to a few of my favorites so they dont get slept on: "Nice blue gill setup" - Sam Schmidt "mf bout to catch a whole submarine with that" - asyraf "Imagine flying a commercial airliner and suddenly a lure hits your window" - OffTheRip432 "Woulda gone further if he did the Happy Gilmore step" - Robert Giannini "Good setup for your neighborhood pond" - BM19 "Rumor has it that weight is currently orbiting around the earth, for the 6th time..." - Big_Mike NYC
The one an Italian angler gives a masterclass both in OTG and pendullum Cast? I learned the hard way but you just said...always works To me his style remains unbeaten (distance appart)
Its not that heavy of a rod. Medium heavy rod at max. Probably 30 lbs braid. Ive seen bass fisherman use a Medium heavy rod with 50 lbs braid to catch a 3 lbs fish. Its just long to help with casting distance.
