He is a member of MENSA). When you mentioned how SHAZAM was more popular around then, it reminded me of my Dad and Uncles discussing why SHAZAM was better than Superman. Of course, I also loved the TV show as a kid. Thank you.

I didn't really like Shazam until after the first movie. Long comment sorry & going to get into some personal stuff, but I found you're channel about 5 years ago & subscribed but a few months later I was hit by a car & in the hospital for a few weeks it broke vertebra in my neck, cracked my skull & de-gloved my scalp, cracked my right shoulder blade almost in half & broke my left leg & shattered my ankle so now I can't work or get out much so I get lonely & bored, had to move back in with my parents & all we have is Direct TV & there's never anything on so now I just watch RU-vid on my Xbox & talking to my therapist, my medication, weed & you're videos help me with my loneliness & boredom & I just wanted to say thank you for that

Shazam, is the wizards name (one of many), the magic word Billy says, and used in the title of some of the runs. But Billy turns into Captain MARVEL! Even though they tried to re-introduce him as "Shazam!" in the later runs, no other character ever calls him that nor does he ever refer to himself by that name in any run that I've ever read. It's just CYA because of Marvel/Disney. He was Captain Marvel for over 50 years and it's still the exact same character. And remember when Freddy get's his own powers, what magic word did he say? "Captain Marvel!"

Shazam and Martian ManHunter always confused me as a kid my dad told me that both of them were just as powerful as superman then this channel, the comicstorian and comic books explained basically said the same thing but in every comic book video I watch, these dudes never save the day I was going to say same for wonder woman but in metal she was like the most powerful hero with her magical chainsaw same as in zombies, because when she turned she was problem but when billy turned in dark knight metal, he seemed more like a hard fight rather then "our only option is run" like when Wonder Woman turns evil I just saw a video on failsafe from the batman thing he or it, looks more powerful than Shazam and martian manhunter I think DC comics really needs a tier list were they can say "these characters are tier 1 a tier 2 villain or hero should not beat them unless they are buffed or something if you want to make, Solomon grundy a threat instead of using superman who is tier 1 use aqua lad or aqua boy who is tier 3 in strength to make it more consistent" That way characters strength is more consistent same with the weaknesses, they should really have like a file they send to writers with some clear details about the characters also talks about Shazam being a magic based character in my opinion I think they should say the way Shazams physical contact when punching affects matter differently in a unexplained way and thats why he is magic based and can beat superman (which he never does) like, he is charged by magic which increases his strength but they write him like a brute force character if I was to write him, after he hits superman, superman would note how "he feels funny" almost like poison an the key to fighting Shazam is finishing the fight quickly and evading attacks(not getting touched like Floyd may weather) the more he is hit the more Shazams magic disrupts his bio-chemistry or whatever this is too long lol

The problem with Shazam is that writers are so inconsistent with him and seem to have forgotten some of his original abilities and don’t seem to understand others. Some seem to think he gets one power from each deity even though in Canaan it shown he can get multiple powers. Plus the power of Zeus is so poorly laid out. Even though he has the speed of mercury and has been shown in other comics to be able to catch the flash while he’s running at his TopSpeed but Shazam is at a dead stop, the times he’s not even in the top five. It’s just ridiculous. If I was a writer I have a great idea for a version. But I’m not

I don't think using Shazam V Superman fights as a measure of power is necessarily fair. Superman has a known vulnerability to magic. Shazam is almost a perfect counter for anything and everything Superman can do, other than sheer wit.

DC nurfs this character so hard its not cool. A perfect Goku/Vegeta-esk type dynamic just sitting right infront of them (Shazam & Superman) that wont intefere with the golden Batman & Superman dynamic already established, as that dynamic is far more nuanced. A Shazam & Superman rivalry could be for straight thrills and cracked out fun power and strength/skill growth in combat. Sups & Cap could go all out with eachother without worriying too much on injuring one another and under friendly circumstances all the while pushing eachother to new hights when both working toghather and in training. Which is always fun to see. A chad god-wizard vs a chad OP alien solar battery.

Till this day I see people undermine Shazam he’s really powerful but every time in live action or video game’s something bad always happens to him 😭 One he’ll be truly appreciated YOU GUY HAVE TO REMEMBER he was more popular than Superman at the time these day he’s truly underrated and the movie really didn’t help either the first one was a OK start but the second one wasn’t really it and I think Shazam is not gonna he in New James Gunn universe moving forward

Everyone always puts Captain Marvel against Superman, which is fair, but no one ever mentions. The captain. Marvel‘s powers are based in magic, and that’s one of sup’s main weaknesses. Without this context, I think it’s skews the results.
