The Jacksonville end was under construction when I went there last time about a month ago.

Yes, it was changed. I don't know if they're still working on it but it looks bad now.

Chicas are constant background sound in Florida, loud non-stop buzzing. It's a popular trail, lots of people on the trail but that train crossing can be a problem. Those trains are extremely long and if they stop then there's no way to get around.

I live only 3 miles from the Baldwin trail on the south side of I-10. I try to bike it at least twice a week.

Nice trail! Have fun in Cleveland! You should check out RAGBRAI for next year. Unfortunately, it's going on right now so next year. You bike across Iowa with a bunch of people for about 7 days. There are events and food along the way. We had to wait 10 minutes for a train to back up. Geez, that is a long train!

Probably I would not do a RAGBRAI just too many people for me. I enjoy the solitude ride more and do my own thing. Did you ride the trail? Which end did you park? Those trains can take a long time even when moving. This one had an extra engine in the middle and 100+ cars behind.

Yes for some reason they like to stop there and block the trail and there's no way around. It happens all the time but luckily it didn't stop at this time.

It is surprising they didn't dig a tunnel for bikers under the train crossing.

Florida is a swamp. If you want to build or dig something you have to drain the water first by digging a pond next to it but it's complicated but I agree they definitely need to find some kind of solution there.

@@FollowThomas - Agree. Building an overpass would be even more expensive. Not inconveniencing cyclists does not merit the cost.
