It's even more funny when we find out that the dad cares more about getting David into Arasaka than thoes for his own kid, even when beaten and kidnapped by them he still want David to join Arasaka.
The father wanted David back so they can capture him easily because he was able to use the implants well enough and was a perfect subject for testing. And when he was captured he was basically begging for his life, it was to save his own ass and live. He didn't care. Corpos do not care.
Makes you wonder how David would react if some black out event caused all technology in Nigh City to stop working permanently. He’d lose any advantage he had with the implants he’d no longer be able to use, and every faction in the city would turn on each other. At that point though, it’d go from cyberpunk to mad max/wasteland with better technology real quick.
It was at super speed ½ X mass X velocity² That is a lot of kinetic energy Edit: here's the math Keep in mind that the sandevistan Slows time by 50% in game and that's why we double the average velocity of a punch which is 11m/s. Giving us 22 m/s. Then do 22² which gives us 484 The average mass of a 17 year old male is 64.41kg. put all these numbers into the formula... Kinetic Energy = 0.5 X Mass X Velocity² 15587.22 J = 0.5 X 64.41 Kg X 22² Your average Assault Rifle fires at around 15000 J which means David here packs more punch than an your average gun. Only 3000 more Joules and he is reaching 50.BMG levels of power
His alternative is to be an arasaka puppet and be used to test out advanced cybernetics till he inevitably burns out and goes cyberphycho without anyone who cares for him and he's then just thrown in a landfill somewhere.
@@camerongooch9606 imo what led him to cyberpsycho because his living as edgerunner but he will be worse if he stay with arasaka he prolly be the second adam smasher
@@adibikram3840 no he wouldn't he's not cold blooded enough. Adam Smasher loves the fact he gave up his humanity to be a cyborg. While David is fighting to stay human.
@@camerongooch9606 no the alternative would be that he wouldn’t have been on Araska’s radar had he not assaulted him right in front of Araska cameras. This basically is a butterfly effect since if he didn’t he likely wouldn’t have gone the path he did.
one interesting thing is that he obviously never realizes he uses the sandy until he hits him But other characters like the cyber psychopath or the bigass maelstrom at the end they almost perceive David moving with the sandevistan, It's not a big deal but it's an interesting detail
@@thomasnewton2935 pretty sure he had a synaptic accelerator or kezrenkov or however you spell it. It allows you to perceive time in slow mo but your body moves at the same pace
@@nathanbristol4506 I’d like to think it ends with him seeing how corrupt they really are. After they spent years and billions of dollars making him stronger than Adam smasher. Then goes on a rampage killing everyone in the company. Rebecca shows up. Tells David how badass he is. *Rebecca thinking* “this guy fucks”. So they fuck?! Applebee’s? Uh yes please. So they show up but there’s a dog dressed as a butler. Dog poker? Strip poker? Uh duh the end.
@@AnimePatriot bro i am just laughing on this like David did during the arasaka chase.....jeez...i mean, you kinda right there, choom, but still....if he does that, then he does that.
True, but with the kind of work he started doing he did need more. Prolly not as many as he actually ended up with, but he did need some more to not drag behind. Even if it was basic stuff like reinforcements for his hands so he didn’t break a knuckle every time he knocked a dude out.
@@nikik5567 yeah that punch always looks painful, I mean even Maine said that his organic body has a limit, probably a good idea to at least add some reinforcements to stop the sandy destroying your organic body.
It all truly began to go down when he decided to put cyber lungs just to impress a girl. I was facepalming at that scene, knowing exactly what was going to happen.
Really shows how much of an idiot he is, too. He's going off a martial arts implant that 'teaches' him a combat style, but really, he's just going for flashy bullshit instead of trying to finish the fight as quickly as possible. Against someone with actual training, or with a superior implant (like the Sandy) he goes down like a punk.
When i first watched this scene i was thinking how crazy it was for him to come straight from surgery to do this. Mans got a fresh coat of blood all over that implant.
I love the way they did the fights in this show, even though it only lasted a single season I really wanted more, it was great. The slow mo into the live speed action replays really kinda provide an actual idea of the difference in character speeds and potential makes me kinda wanna play the game.
This Tanaka Jr. is the main reason David going down his self-destructive path. The bullying makes him feels the needs to strengthen himself, the pain after the punch tells him that the Sadi itself isn't enough and he needs to have more.
"You broke me nose" bro literally flew he got punched soo hard yet I like how he's upset his nose is broken not the fact he got airtime from being bodied soo hard
Idk why people call David's path here to leading into doom, he would've been far worse off to arasaka plus the bills would've downed him further. He experienced far more than those saka pawns and got things people there dream off , he went with a blast.
Cap. His body is the PSU supplying 500W of power. The sandy is a new graphics card that is running too fast for his processor and motherboard. He upgraded himself to keep up but unfortunately he was still using up too much power for his own body. Bound to go psycho the moment he strapped the sandy to his back with no thought of how his body would handle it.
@@mr.potato7075 [TLDR: Graphics are limited to the Processor, not the other way around. Ram is a better way to portray the usage of cybernetics] Slightly wrong, if a graphics card is too powerful for the cpu it would be nerfed regardless because the cpu gives the graphics card the pci-e lanes required to run it so let’s say you have a 3080 and you’re trying to run it on a core 2 duo, the 3080 has 8gigs of vram and runs at pci-e gen 4.0, you stick it into the core 2 duo’s 1x16 that runs at Pci-e Gen 1 (usually) the card will run at pci-e gen 1 speeds and there isn’t much you can do about it, the 3080 will act as nothing more than a fat gen 1 card, it won’t fail or anything it would just be limited (Which is well in the core 2 duo’s area). So yeah the whole new graphics card isn’t really a thing. Now a better comparison would surprisingly be RAM, in David’s case imagine sandevistan was google chrome, David has 4 gigs of ram(everyone else has 2gb), 2 tabs is ok, 8 is kinda pushing it, 10 is running hot, you see chrome is ok you can handle it but spamming it is bad. So in this case if he kept Only sandy he’d be fine, just stop being a show off. Now we have time skip David, everything else is chump upgrades, chrome for chrome all 256mb per limb, but that builds up now he has 1.25gb (counting the arm cannon) and every time he uses sandy he’s down by 512 per tab, eventually he’s going to cap off at about 5 times per day because of all that chrome. Now believe it or not there’s an explanation of why I chose ram, whenever you overuse ram specific areas of ram stores registries and stuff in your ram to sustain your OS, so when you use all of your RAM you’re taking away some of that real estate that your OS needs to work and that’s when things get wonky, you get slowdowns, and in some weird cases artifacts, but your OS won’t let you see that it’ll crash itself before that happens. But In this case the crash is cyberpsychosis Also while we’re here Immunodepressants are comparable to swap, which uses non-volatile memory (basic storage) as ram caches, (think 1x treatment as hdd, 3x S2SSD, 6x S3SSD, 9xNVME.)
He would've gone much earlier. David was dealing with heavily chromed people like malestrom members and only with sandevistan he wouldnt make It so far.
Man you gotta think about how hard that punch really was. Moving at a showed that old like a blink of the eye to everybody else, Even with no implants in his hand homeboy better be glad it didn’t break his neck Lmaoo.
I was so disappointed that he didn't straight beat him half to death with one of those chairs. Dude honestly deserved to be beaten within an inch of his life.
One detail that I like about this is that David is clearly inexperienced in hand to hand combat so he strikes using the two smaller knuckles instead of the bigger knuckles connecting your pointer and middle fingers like a experienced fighter would 👊
The line "do you know who my parent is" should always end in..."Yup! And I'm sending them a play back of you getting your ass kicked so it shows up in their feed every morning for the rest of their life."
It worked the first time. I don't really know what implant he has that lets him do that though. Kerinzikov maybe. I'm not really sure what the difference would be between the kerinzikov and the sandevistan in the anime. In the game the kerinzikov is good with dodging it's short but has a short slow down speed.
I love that everything plays slowly first and they show exactly what’s happening before cutting to regular speed and showing the bonkers shit that everyone else sees
Sandevistan aside how the fuck dose he move so fast without his body just EXPLODING from the G forces and from punching that other guy so hard and fast?
Y’know if he didn’t take his jacket off he could’ve played it off as a Kerenzikov or something of that nature. But that’s just me, I don’t want these characters to go through any more pain
Basic the armed spine shoots adrenaline or activities it so that u can move faster than usually and helps your movement to be more faster and accurate allowing the user to use it at their potential
Whats funny is Katsuo earned this beat down by talking trash about Davids mothers death... Only for David to be responsible for Katsuo's father dying not even days later 💀
