Probably because of stupid copyright laws that gave them a monopoly over falling block games with those shapes. Like there's hardly any cool (legal) variants to the game so people just play the same boring uninnovative versions from the Tetris company

AB GAMR hd why hate on Fortnite? 1st off its totally free to play, 2nd it’s the only shooting game in my recent memory that wasn’t sucking the money out of everyone who played it with DLCs. I get that the game is kinda childish, but the creators are coming out with new stuff constantly at no charge. The game isn’t perfect, but I’ve never had a problem with servers etc. I just don’t understand why every one hates on it so much.

The question is, how many unique subscribers did they have on the initial game from 04 and on? The base game is required for all the expansions. That has to be millions of unique players. Tetris stats are incorrect and vague. It depends on how exactly do you count sold copies. Original 1984? Every variation since? Only official tetris franchise? If you count ALL of them it will be ~500 000 000 copies. @@Knuckles2761 I would guess that the Nintendo license was the single biggest selling version. Either the Game Boy or NES version. Those numbers look about right for the Game Boy since it was bundled with something like 30+ million plus it kept selling after the bundle changed.
