I was issued a Gerber multitool in 2008 before my Iraq deployment. It folds up into a small pouch that is attached to my belt. I’ve carried that thing almost everyday on and off duty for the last 15 years. From opening turbine engine oil cans to opening plastic toy packaging, easily the best item I’ve ever received.

I would venture to disagree with your selection of tools as the most important, mainly they were all specialized tools for specific industries, like the refrigeration tube bender, the electrician's wire stripper, etc. The most important tool has to be one that can be used in any or all trades. Therefore, i suggest the absolutely most important tool a man can have is his fingers.
