I have some dried flowers! But you missed using it for cosmetic use too! I make a really strong butterfly tea and dilute my hair conditioner with it. You could also make your own rinse with it, adding apple cider vinegar. This is really wonderful for keeping gray/white hair its color, rather than yellowing.

Oooh must get my hands on some as I am a textile artists! Did you know if you mix it with Roselle Hibiscus, it turns bright red :-D or make blue ice cubes, add it to drinks and watch it change the colour
I gotta be honest...I get aggravated when I see some of the questions in comments. Be mad if ya want ppl but it’s true! Do y’all even WATCH the ENTIRE video???????? Half the questions ppl ask were answered IN THE VIDEO!!!!! I’m not trying to be rude or hateful at all. I’m not. I just think it’s kind of rude to Doug and Stacy, it shows you’re not paying attention or not watching the entire video, and after they’ve put so much time and effort into making the video for you! If you’re asking just to have something to say, just say Hi or ask them how they’re doing. Anyway, sorry for my rant. I sure hope all is well with you guys. Thank you for all you do. Love, hugs and blessings always ~Lisa
Yo Homestead Homies! Love all your videos. In the spring, when violets would blanket the lawn, my mom would send my brother and me out to pick two small baskets full of the blooms. She would use them in a similar way - tea and syrup. They also make a funky looking ice cream when steeped in the the hot cream while cooking the custard.
just as an FYI, rice will absolutely spike your blood sugar, in fact its akin to eating pasta . Rice has a high glycemic index and a lot of carbohydrates, according to Harvard Medical School. That means that rice can quickly raise blood glucose to very high levels. Eating a lot of high-glycemic foods can increase insulin resistance and make it harder to control your blood sugar. Otherwise, great video and inspiration to try a new plant.
I really like how you aet the flower raw, than cooking, boiling all the time. You are the first I've seen doing this. How come Doug didn't pickup his plates?🤔The plates are beautifully designed.
woot! now i know another way for that calming tea! and this one is so pretty!! Thank you #bakercreek and Thank you #DougandStacy ; love and appreciate you both for all you do! thank you!
Try making oat meal cookies using coconut flour dried grinded butterfly pea flowers and honey with oat meal and dried cranberries flavored with blueberry juice 😋👌
I love the series of informational videos on different plants with Baker Creek , finding new information on plants and ways to use them.Thank you for sharing .God Bless
That is an amazing plant. I will say one thing however; Even with all the natural sweetener and blueberries which are good for you, that much rice is not something I would make for my diabetic rice. It's just too much starch and carbs and may well cause spikes. Love your channel guys, so glad I found you!
I've seen several folks adding to this to their homemade kombucha! I will definitely be getting the seeds from Baker Creek to grow next year! Great video!!
Who sells these seeds/plants? Baker Creek website says: "Due to a large volume of orders and a significant amount of our staff on quarantine due to COVID-19 we have temporarily taken down our site to process orders and package more seed. We apologize for inconvenience. We will be live again Thursday 5pm CST !" BUT THEY HAVE NOT OPENED THE WEBPAGE BACK UP!
Y'all I'm so excited about growing these! My Baker Creek Seed order of these just came and I am squealing with joy! 🙆♀️ Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
@@OFFGRIDwithDOUGSTACY Both of you guys have a fake tan. Which is ironic, because you hate Muslims, Indians, Arabs, and anyone with naturally Brown skin basically. Why else would you marry within your race, instead of marrying a non-White person? Also, you partner up with racist, fake tanned RU-vidrs like Darcizzles, so yeah, your channel doesn't exactly promote racial tolerance.
Nutritious ... medicinal ... delicious ... FUN ... can't beat that combo, eh? And blue is my grandson's favorite color! This should be interesting! :-D Doug ... you're looking a little green around the gills. Hope you're feeling better SOON!!! Love & prayers
My last visit to one of Chiang Mai thai cuisine classes ended up with deep love for butterfly pea flowers ( 5 to 10 flowers for sticky rice cooking water), I was even allowed to take away some butterfly pea seeds pods, soooo happy! now I can grow it and enjoy it all the time. Loved your presentation!
The blue rice is beautiful! Butterfly pea plant is going in my Baker Creek cart! Since watching these videos my cart is getting full of wonderful heirloom seeds. Thank you so much for posting the Baker Creek videos!!
I love to learn this was great going to get seeds for sure also I don’t live off the grid so how do you get water I’m 62 so growing up my grandma had a well like a wishing well and the water truck would come and fill it My uncles would be sent down on ropes and brushed and bleached the inside before the truck came They also had a root cellar I thought was made of mud but had shelves for everything I hated to go down there I guess you could say they lived off the grid but had electricity one wood stove in the living room and a wood stove to cook on These were my child hood memories but I like some of it but not all so you guys are awesome you do make it look fun
Great content, thanks. We're in Chiang Rai, Thailand, and we grow this amazing plant in our garden. We make tea with a dash of honey and feeling great from it's medicinal properties. Roger
Baker creek has some of best specialty plants. I love flipping through the catalog. Still alot of the stuff doesnt come along in the north. I wish in the write ups there was zone recomendations.
I typed in butterfly pea in the baker creek website and it only shows butterfly weed. Maybe it's a seasonal seed they don't always have? I wanted to get some seeds though.
I'm not seeing a single bit of reporting on this flower the fruits the peas that are the after effect when you let them go to seed they looked like regular stir fry peas are they hazardous or edible
Gorgeous blue flower! Thanks for informing me on this beautiful and versatile plant. The more I learn about new plants the more I want to know 😊 Thank you both ❤
Alicia Tarquinio hahaha! Thank you! I tend to comment or ask questions halfway through a video, and then as soon as I post it, there they come with the answer! I need to learn more patience, I think, lol!
Gena L interesting. The last video I watched (not in chronological order), he dared anyone to watch their past videos to see if they had ever been sick while filming.
Poor Douglas has to stand and watch you gals eat that yummy stuff. you can just hear his tummy growling. Those artificial lights must be burning your skin, eh Doug?
Ooooh, pretty. The rice looks like something you would see in a Dr. Seuss book. Who needs "Green Eggs and Ham" when you can have blue Fruit Loop sticky rice.
first year growing these beauties. not flowering yet they are still small in the garden. Im excited. thanks baker creek for the seeds and doug stacy and shannon for the video.
