I had the honor to see Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Ronnie James Dio all in the same concert 17 years ago here in Southern California. That was one hell of a show! For a metal live performance this is a 9.1/10 all day. The drummers nick name was Phil the “filthy animal” Taylor.
@C4duke Good Metal Monday Morning to you my man. How did we get on? You are more than welcome to keep your own scores and let us know your own top 5 as we go along. We will just pick a random band from our list and any song that catches our eye and see how we get on. Just a bit of fun, but we hope it will expose us to a lot of metal bands we probably would not have know about. P.S, if you gonna have a nickname, have something cool, if Lemmy gave him that one, there had to be many reasons why, the mind boggles!! You now know which one of us BP1 001 & BP2 002 Over & Out
@C4duke Challenge accepted, let's see if we can find something out there to change up you top 5. You had better start keeping scores, we will be checking in from time to time!!
@@BritPopsReact hah! All the scores are in me brain (Irish accent) I gave you my personal top 5. Show me 002! BTW my favorite 007 is Pierce Brosnan🤘🏼🤘🏼 I saw him once about 20 years ago in the AM reading a newspaper at an In N Out burger here in Southern CA. I didn’t approach him but acknowledged him. Seemed to be a nice guy.
What a band....what a character...Lemmy always stated...we play rock and roll....butfast and loud...haha...they are Legend and Lemmy really wa one of a kind!
\m/otorhead! \m/ !!!! TYVM! RIP Lemmy..... I still "see" Neil (The Young Ones) dancing and headbanging when I hear them! This is one where, if Spinal Tap covered it, the drummer would explode at the end!!!
@Damien Maynard Your most welcome, this could be fun, there are a load of names in the list we have no idea about. Hope you come along for the ride. The Young Ones, they don't make em like that anymore.
@@BritPopsReactalways the last song, it's like they built the encores into the song. In fact that is the only bad thing about this song, it signals the ending of the concert. And only the neighborhood wanted it to end in order to get some sleep 😂
If you think this version is awesome, check out the live version from No Sleep Til Hammersmith. That just takes the studio version and turns it up to 11 on every level.
@James Bong Hi, thanks for the suggestion, I checked it out offline as we would not get to react to it as we have done our Motorhead quota for now. Reading the comments, I understand that it was Mettalica's tribute to Motorhead and then Lemmy took it and tuned it up to 11. It was totally mental but at the same time, great to hear, the drumming was non stop and and everything was pure Motorhead. Brilliant. Wonder if we choose this one for our Metallica Metal Head Monday...humm Thanks for watching and the comment.,

I have about as much knowledge about motörhead as you. I know Ace of Spades and maybe one or two others. But yeah, I agree on the punk part. They remind me more of like sex pistols or black sabbath or maybe judas priest than the "modern" metal that I am used too. I guess because they started their careers way back when metal was in its children shoes. And maybe took slightly different routes from there. I am not rly a fan of either of their music but they all played an important part in the evolution of music (as did many others), so that is why they will always have my respect. The song itself I would rate like a 6/10. 8/10 because it is a piece of history. I know, I am cheating on my scores. I guess you guys will settle on a 7/10.
@Chris Cross We find it hard to answer why we like certain songs over others, maybe its the time signature or when something gets a bit too frenzied, this was pure sort of constant all the way, even with the double bass. It was Rock n Roll played fast and loud, just like Lemmy said. We have something interesting coming up for you...ohhh tomorrow!! Have fun, I was 14 at the time.
@@BritPopsReact No worries. It is just fun for me to guess your scores. I love some pop that noone expects and despise some metal. Sometimes it just doesn't click and sometimes it surprisingly does. Now i am excited for tomorrow :) Rare thing to be excited about a random Tuesday xd
I heard this song hundreds of times over the last 40 years, its still 10/10 for me. They created a template for others to follow. not many could 😅 The sound quality of the song on youtube is not great, and some of the remastered albums are lacking bass. It's needs to be heard in high quality. That said, it's not for everyone, but it's still one of the greatest songs they ever recorded 🤘🤘🤘
