have you heard of Converge? theyre not old but theyre probably in there mid 40's been going at it since the early 90's and their stage presence is as if they were still teenagers. the flame is still very much alive with Converge
Alex, if she started out with their early stuff, ya i think she would be a little put off lol idk. but their later stuff like the song, and album title, All we love we leave behind, is what i would like to call, chaotic beauty. and their new album the Dusk in Us has some songs that an average listener would be bobbing their head to.
Red King fair enough, i have to check out their later stuff. Saw them at cbgb around 2003? Or 02? Great live band but their albums wasn't something I could listen to. But i will check out their progression and see what they are like now.
Alex, ya man have a go at the new one, it was my top 5's for 2017. i wish i would have seen them in their younger years, all i have is their dvds and their shows looked fun as hell! cheers man!
Have seen motorhead 27 times, still have my unused ticket for a gig scheduled for 2 months after lemmy died.the word Legend will never cover his legacy. Rest in noise my man, this Jack's on me.
My old lady died. She had a Motorhead full back piece back tat. When I get down I listen to Cradle to the Grave or Rock n Roll. I had to break Lemmy dying to her. My grandma died the day before she did. Motorhead hits me in the feels. I'm completely changed and probably damaged goods but love introducing folks to music and finding new music so you're basically my friend at this point.
IMO. Lemmy was "The Rockstar"! He had his own sound on bass and in singing. He drank all the booze and used plenty of drugs. And he had all the ladies, while being ugly as sin. BUT most importantly he was kind and intelligent guy who treated people with respect.
If there was no Motorhead, there would be no bands like Metallica, Megadeth or bands similar to that. Possibly the only band that I can think of who both metal fans and punk rock fans love and respect. Speaking of punk, try some Ramones. Their songs are so short, you can live stream a whole album in about a half hour easy. Take care and love your reactions.
...and THAT'S why the song is called Overkill. There's a song that Lemmy & Dave Grohl did when Dave did the Probot album, it's called Shake Your Blood; basically Lemmy tells you how to be a rock star.
I've never heard this song so the first "ending" fooled me. I don't always understand what Lemmy says, but I agree with you. I have always really liked their sound. I really have to listen to more Motorhead.
Tommie Boler when I listened to Overkill for the first time... I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t know what was going on. It repeated and the studio version jus was weird to me. When I eventually listened to the live version, it became my favorite. Overkill was just this fast and fucking awesome, I couldn’t do anything but headbang and enjoy.
Motörhead is the epitome of the classic rock n roll lifestyle and bombastic balls to the wall style. And Lemmy was awesome, bless his soul. Classic song from a legendary band.
Now that was just a video. Now imagine that at jet engine volume. Lemmy’s bass pushing your chest in. That is the essence of Motörhead. On record they were monstrous, live they were gods!
Your face at 5:40... There's a bloody good reason why the song is called Overkill........... "just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in..." to quote Al Pacino in the Godfather 3
Lemmy was the ultimate rock star, lived the dream, sex drugs and rock and roll. The man was an absolute LEGEND!!!!!! R.I.P. Mr Kilmister sadly sadly missed.
Lemmy was Total anti cocaine he was anti heroine but like my self he would have a s### load of speed Motörhead meaning speed freak and my self with the same problem the song overkill no one can beat them the were f##### awesome I don’t even drink to wash the stuff down. But you are so right sadly missed Motörhead was a band in their own world 😔🥺🥶😶😐🏴😉😊🙂.
Bangs head stops oh it's not over, bangs head again smiles laughs it's still going, bangs head again shakes head in disbelief this is amazing #PinkNation #YoureWelcomeNation
God pink thank you such a beautiful thing to see friday morning you reacting to lemmy my greatest idol of all time and in HD I so love you and your channel more than ever thanks for the SHOUT OUT as well also try (motorhead's love me forever a slow one) and did you know he was a roadie for Hendrix? you will always be the queen shine on girl
Best Motörhead gig I want to was in 2007 first o2 leeds, uk. Really small venue for what you see here. Many 2/3 on the front section would have been capacity, bill was girls school, Airbourne, Motörhead. And they didn’t turn it down any - probably the same levels as this gig lol
Lemmy was so much to so many. At his heart, he was a true British Gentleman. Watch that video of him getting tatted up by Kat Von D, and at the end, he reaches out and gently kisses her hand. I drove 550 miles to see him in 2009, and it was stunning. God, I miss Lemmy. RIP, old boy.
A kick-ass song for certain, but to shred it like that LIVE is a different matter altogether. Lemmy and Motorhead were true rock stars who could play it live just as good or better than the album. Oh yeah, edit this to say you're hitting it big time, I saw my first ad on your channel. For Eggo waffles lol, congrats!
Lemmy 🤘🏼❤️ he was the inspiration for so many musicians who didn’t give a F about what people say but at the same token he poured out his soul and be the best at what he did with his music, to his fans and stayed true to his way of life.
Great video. Motorhead is without a doubt one of the greatest rock bands. One of the first concerts I took my wife to included Motorhead, Heaven and Hell and Judas Priest on the bill. My wife knew Motorhead only by name and raves about the concert till this day. She still mentions how Motorhead was so loud her clothes seem to shake. Even though it was an outdoor venue we could not hear for at least two days. Great concert!!! BTW she mentions if you wore spandex in the eighties you probably should not be wearing it 25 years later. LOL.
Thank you soo much beautiful ❤👍 I discovered your channel a few month's ago and have enjoyed it immensely.I had to comment because I LOVE MOTORHEAD! The greatest metal band ever.
You are ridiculously adorable. Just your sweet, kind, gentle voice juxtaposed with Motorhead's blistering classic live version of "Overkill" makes a great video clip. Keep up the great work.
I discovered Motorhead at a much older age after listening to Axl Rose request to hear Ace of Spades in an interview with Eddie Trunk. I soon found so many other diamonds in their discography. In the Name of Tragedy is one of my favorites. One of the few bands that aged like wine, and got better with each passing year. I was so lucky to see Motorhead three times in concert before Lemmy passed away. Good memories, and so much inspiration. I watched Lemmy's funeral live on television. The world lost a hero that day.
He lived Rock n Roll. Rip I loved how he always had the mic above him. He did that so he could use his voice the way it should be used. Thnkx 4 sharing. Keep Rocking
Germany Düsseldorf Phillipshalle 2004...i was there. This concert was fucking brilliant...the best head show i ever see....and i ve seen many ! This Video can not reproduce how Motörhead live was.Lemmy s Bass blew you away and push you against the wall !! My ears still rang 3 days after the show. Lemmy forever...forever Lemmy. Rock n Roll never dies !
You have no idea how loud they are, especially the reverb from Lemmy's bass at the end. I couldn't hear for almost a week after seeing them at Hammersmith, and immediately after the gig, life seemed to occur in slow motion, I was almost numb. Travelling home on the 'tube' after, was almost surreal, as I could hear nothing, so had to be extra careful not to miss my stops. Also, the gents toilets had a blockage, so we were literally almost knee deep in urine. Rock and roll indeed.
Ok, I've watched 5 or 6 of your vids now and I think you are one cool cookie. This is coming from a 55-year-old 70's rocker (from the UK), and seeing a young black American lady reacting in such a way is fantastic. It is heartwarming to know that someone from a very different background to mine can have such a powerful reaction to the music I grew up with. Looking at you I would say Hip hop or maybe Reggie ( or something of that ilk - don't forget I'm 55 and British so not up with the modern sounds :) ) would be your thing, but no, you are open-minded and soulful, your reaction has moved me - keep going
You are correct Pink, Lemmy was a true archtype. There will never be another. Even Ozzy agreed he was the real rocker. He was the one artist all punk rockers could get behind as well as the hard rockers. His influence is felt all over. His voice was 2/3 unfiltered cigarette and 1/3 jack daniels. He bedded over 1000 women and he lived his life exactly as he wanted without a regret. A truly interesting character. Please look further into Motorhead! Songs like Love me like a reptile, tear ya down, over the top, shine, damage case, whorehouse blues, built for speed, shoot you in the back, bomber, killed by death, dead men tell no tales, just cos you got the power, metropolis, marching off to war. So many good songs to plug alone.
Nov. 18th, 2015 - Saarbrücken, GERMANY: Me and my best friend Sebastian saw a Motörhead concert. Kicked ass. December 28, 2015: Lemmy Kilmeister frontman of Motörhead dies of cancer. So I was fortunate to be one the last people to see them play. I just love Motörhead, because they put on great shows.. I should know
My wife likes Country music and I took her to see Motorhead and the look on her face when they came out and played at 110 decibels was priceless! I just looked at her and said this is real music...

I can't stop staring at you...you're so pretty and then there's that reaction that says what the f is goin' on here!? feel the rage and let it flow! who says bass players can't run the damn show!
Lemmy lives forever. Motorhead forever. So freakin loud at their shows (even outside!). No matter how bad of a day you're having, listen to Motorhead. Lemmy will put a smile on your face
Great vid, Pink! RIP Lemmy! Check out "Burner", "I Am the Sword", "Death or Glory", and the (GASP!) ballad "1916". Motorhead has many, many surprises in store. hope you find them all. Cheers! ^_^
I seen Motörhead, God, must be 25+ times all in the late 70s-early 80's, no other band could touch them live. At one gig, at the Lyceum in London (where I'm from before moving to Brisbane Australia), probably 1979, the Overkill re-start happened 5 times instead of the normal 3, with each one getting longer. We thought it'd never end. Everyone was on Speed when we walked into the show, by the time we came out we were going so fast that the nuclei of our brain atoms had vibrated so much we all had contracted nuclear fusion in our skulls. You did a nice job here Pinky! I just watched another react video and all the girl said was "They play with energy, the singer has a good voice, and the guitar player played some riffs". Serious, that was all she said, keep up the fine work Pinky, can I recommend Silver Machine by a band Lemmy used to be in called Hawkwind, Lemmy does the singing. Cya soon Pinky!
Great reaction to Motorhead Rest In Peace Lemmy Eternal 🤘🤘Next Motorhead Song Back At The Funny Farm from the album Another Perfect Day, awesome song imo
My first concert was a Motorhead concert , age 11. First I begged for more , later I begged them to stop. My ears were ringing for a week. To this day the loudest concert I can remember.
" They Were Motorhead, And They Played " Rock n Roll"!!! Rest In Peace " Lemmy, Fast Eddie, Phil Taylor !!!! Stone Dead Forever! I got too see " Motorhead about 5 times! I have been a diehard fan since I was 12 years old! Iam 50yrs now! Still my favorite band!
"who'd win in a fight, Lemmie or God? Trick question, Lemmie is God." (Airheads Movie). Great video PinkMetalHead, I love in the drum intro how your eyes light up!
And to think, the intro came about because the drummer at the time ( not the guy in the video) was practicing his double bass when the other guys walked into the room. They told him to keep playing that beat, and thus was born Overkill. Want to keep the song going but don't know where to go? Just start it over again.
I saw these guys in San Diego something like 15 years ago - a lot of bikers, a lot of tattoos and a few guys with Hawkwind shirts (Lemmy did vocals for Hawkwind, a UK psychedelic progressive rock band, before doing lead vocals for Motörhead.
