I have been to this museum I got to ride in the cab of one of the trams on the day I left back to my home city I can’t remember which one it was but it was amazing
Excellent video wonderful they were Saved, i thought 100 was a Kitson steam tram but i could well be be wrong i seen it in a video i have. Ferrymead at Christchurch also have a good selection of trams, about 3 or steam locos some diesels and an antique village they have built up themselves.
Ferrymead is a great organisation! I've never been, but would like to one day (it's hard to get to by public transport). I get their newsletters etc. so have a good idea of the fantastic work they're doing. As I understand, Kitson Steam Trams were English, made in Yorkshire I think. Tram 100 is a Baldwin Steam Tram which was made in Philadelphia in the USA. MOTAT have an info page about 100 here: collection.motat.nz/objects/28717/tram-no100-steam
@@spil030 yes, i have not been to Ferrymead but Want to, been to Weka Pass V/Railway a few times about 5hrs drive i went there and back in 1 day once when AB608 was there, followed JB1236 to Greymouth and return then home in a weekend, a good reliable car is a MUST for such trips, been to GVR, Wgtn steam engine saturdays

Have great memories of fitting up ,heating those rivets for tram 100,and doing the rivets on the chassis on site at motat....we were heard on the other side of the site.A school trip watching us driving the white hot steel home.
