I saw this posted and wondered, why react to a whole Mothaltar release? I had watched at least one other reaction and remembered the track being solid. I thought, "I guess I'll check this out and see what it's like, maybe listen through a track or two." After the first track I thought, "I guess maybe I'll keep going" and half way through track two, "I'm in this to the end!" This is surprising in every positive way. Emotional, melodic guitar solos (which I prefer to breakdowns personally), an overwhelming, ethereal atmosphere that permeates all the keyboard/synth choices, gritty, heavy guitar work, stunning melodic, clean vocals with beautiful melodies, space for the songs to breathe, and a perfect flow across the entire release. I would have a hard time framing this as metalcore or hardcore. It has those elements, death metal influences, a djenty Gojira bend, and the beauty of something far beyond all of that. This is a potential modern metal masterpiece. I'm not sure how many times I've been this engrossed in a first time listen of any release, even of one I've anticipated let alone one that I had not. Well done Mothaltar!

Just checked it out. The vibe is on another level. Reminds me of The Contortionist and Vildhjarta. Another incredible notch in the Christian modern metal belt. Just within the last few days with new Mothalter, Collapse//Revive, Intercessor, and Bloodlines.

I don't have popcorn, but I do have pistachio ice cream...lol
