All really good games' stories can be told simply through their score. Those who have played the game in the past can remember it so vividly simply by listening to its music in order. I'm no artsy fartsy person (that's a bit of a lie) but an artist is best defined as someone who does exactly that, telling stories using things so simple, from as basic as a painting to as esoteric as a dance that everyone can interpret their own way. It really is amazing.
Not to mention, holy shit do all of the piano pieces give off such strong Studio Ghibli vibes. I really can't find the words to elaborate on this further than "holy fucking shit I fucking love this so much oh my god." Really it just blends all of these amazing things like nostalgia from Mother 3, from Ghibli movies, from so many other things I love so much that are on the tip of my tongue but I can't make out. I love it so goddamn much.
I like how during Ragtime Osohe, when Duster walks in, the party stops abruptly when he knocks on the door, and when the door opens I imagine Duster just staring at all of the ghosts, and them staring at him, and then the party just continues with him.
AHHH I CAN’T BELIEVE I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THIS!!! I used to listen to this a lot around when it came out. It’s as great as I remembered it. It feels like unlocking a good hidden memory.

So many memories attached to these songs, so many emotions.. I miss you, MOTHER! Fire Emblem was given to us, meaning they might give us MOTHER 3 some day. I mean, probably not, but we can hope. Thank you for this fantastic medley. Edit:I wanted to mention my appreciation for including the ever-so-underrated Pink Shell. Z@@M!
I'm missing Hard Rain and Run, My Dog, Run!, but they might not have fitted in so well with the rest of the songs, and I really like the medley nontheless.
I'd think a film of Mother 3 would either be great but REALLLY long, or short but not nearly as good. If anything, Mother 3 would be better as a book. Most books are lengthy anyway.
To be honest I'd like to see how it'd go on, it'd have to take a lot of effort, but I feel it could make a pretty good series, maybe it can be separated with Chapters being one series, like Chapter one being Season one, and so on. (Chapter six, though? I don't really know, probably just one short episode) I realized these comments are from 1-2 years, but still, if it ever gets released in us, it still has a chance for an anime.
Personally I think the that brass part is unnecessary at 2:57 because it completely covers the melody, but that's just what I think, other than that I think it's great! Is there any score/sheet music for this?
Two factors : the melody was played by a flute in low dinamics, compared to the brass accompaniment in forte dinamics. Also, brass with woodwinds need a lot of care to sound good together.
I've just discovered your channel. Looks like I was late to the game. Just wanted to say your music is so nice to study to. Hope to see some new releases in the future. All the best!!!
I was waiting to listen to this until I finished the game, which I just did. And just like the Earthbound orchestration, i love it! I read about the hard drive being ruined, but i still wish there were more orchestrations made, because these are just so good.
mother 3 was such a jarring departure from what the first two games established yet having played the game and heard these songs i can say it did so in a wonderful way
Should have included Phantasmagoric. But that's my opinion. Good job. Deserves more views. EDIT: I should add that some of the instrument uses are questionable but others are fantastic. And that Magypsy Party rework gave me chills (one of my fav songs in the game).
As of right now, I've received the most heavy and gravely serious news about my girlfriend. Not dead or injured or anything of the sort, just very serious stuff that my teenage brain can't handle. Currently trying to process it with this music. Edit: All sorted out now, thanks Mother 3 music.
Love this whole video, all of these songs were done very well! I just have a few minor complaints: I kinda wish Battle Against the Masked Man was in this video, along with Phantasmagoric.
