I live in Houston. You can't call HPD for anything. Nothing is important enough for them. Better hope the crimes you're reporting didn't happen within the city limits, because the police departments around Houston are great, but Houston itself... don't bother reporting anything. I don't know about corrupt, but at the very least they're so understaffed they never seem to get anything done. Ironic since they used all their resources to find him but not to prosecute her for wasting them and their time, isn't it?

@@VeldrusaraI remember watching a 911 call thing on YT once and this woman called up to report that her friend just FaceTimed her and shown his girlfriends dead body on FaceTime to her and the 911 for the Houston area lady was completely complacent and seemed bored on the call, she kept saying to the girl “what makes you think this is in Houston?” And the caller was like “because he’s in Houston! He’s about to go take his girlfriends body to a lake in houston” and the operator was saying “what lake? There’s no lakes in Houston I don’t think” 😂 it was mind blowing how much she was doing everything she could to deter doing her actual job. @@Chloe__________xx I know the call you're talking about. I don't remember it being in Houston, but it could have been---I listen to so many, I don't remember where they took place at very often. It would be a rather stupid thing for the dispatcher to say if it was, anyway. Everyone who lives here knows what Clear Lake and Lake Houston are. There are ten large lakes and 150 small lakes here. Oy! 🤪 911 dispatchers aren't directly related to the PDs either way, but yeah, everyone from the main HPD office to the detectives themselves all have sounded like the most dismissive group of people I've ever heard in my life the few times I tried to talk to them. My seven year old nephew is absolutely obsessed with police related everything and wants to be a HPD cop one day. Absolutely. I was molested and abused from 4-6yrs old. My brain hid it away to protect me. Then when I was about 36 yrs old, it all came flooding back like a wave. I started remembering everything. Well almost everything . I got the courage to ask my mom if she knew. She said yes she knew. She said she would leave me and my lil sister with grandma while she worked . And I ended up living at grandmas house while my sister went home. She said my sister was so bad that grandma couldn’t watch her too . And my grandma left me alot with her next door neighbor . And her husband was molesting me. My grandma caught him a few times and always threatened him . But he just got better at hiding it. It ruined my life. I’m not gonna go into how. But I went thru a lot of bad things in my life and made terrible decisions and then at 14, I was molested again by my piano teacher. I tried to tell mom but she just said “well he likes u. Marry him”. I didn’t want to marry a 26 yr old man . I was 14 and liked boys my age. I was a virgin too and was pressured to have sex with him. Just wanna state as someone with a ND it's a misunderstanding that a ND adult would have the mind of a child. It is simply not true. We have different support and communication needs but they are not reflected in a child like mind and you cannot say someone has the capacity of a 10 year old even if they have higher support needs then myself. It's infantalisation and it's a problem because it can be used to deny us rights and fair treatment. So it's actuallt unfair to assess his support needs and disability based on an interview like this. An example, right now your reading this thing I typed relitively compitantly with the help of my phone. Yesterday I became so overstimulated I actually was tottaly unable to verbalise and was in shut down for hours because the shopping center was busy. I became basically non functional. You can't tell that from this post. Or atleast you shouldent be able to. @@katw.6519 It was a lot of inappropriate touching of my chest as well as inappropriately watching me (getting changed, in the shower) and being exposed around me a lot. I'm not sure what to call it all. When I was interviewed by CPS at age ~13, they asked me if I "thought he was doing it sexually" or if he just "wanted to be closer to me". One of the reasons they threw my case out was because I answered honestly that I had no clue what his intent was. They also said that since he "only" touched my chest, it didn't really warrant any further action. So, he was still allowed to try for custody of me and drag me through years of "reunification therapy" hell since nobody in the courts believed me. Luckily, I never had to be alone with him because I fought any unsupervised visitation attempts LITERALLY kicking and screaming and I had two police officers who believed me and refused to physically force me to go. (which, legally, they could have done. Look up Maya Laing for examples.) I didn't wanna make this whole thing about me, though. I don't mind sharing my story, but I'm only sharing it to say that this happens so much more than people are aware of. It'd be great if the justice system had the best interests of sexual abuse victims in mind but unfortunately that's not the case. They're always looking for ways to throw out your story and make it seem like it wasn't as bad as it actually was, and that's clearly what's happening to Rudy. I agree; either lying, was brainwashed to not see his experience as assault, or perhaps doesn’t understand that sexual assault is an umbrella term that goes beyond intercourse. To be honest, I’m actually leaning more toward him not seeing himself as a sexual assault victim due to his poor or warped grasp on what it entails. You can hear him express that his boundaries were imposed upon, but he avoids specifics and vehemently denies SA. Could be the police’s fault, perhaps suggesting some disgusting, inaccurate gender stereotypes about men not being SA victims. And yes, could also be embarrassed or afraid to incriminate his mother. My guess is the police’s approach has not helped him understand the depth of his victimhood and his mother certainly wouldn’t have imparted healthy perspective on the matter. Whatever the reason, I hope he heals.

Holy shit, this man had to raise himself, give himself an education while surviving such a limiting and abusive environment in the hands of his mother. He is so well spoken and can explain his side of things so well. What an awful thing to live through, but damn, to also end up such a smart and thoughtful person isn't easy. That's entirely his own doing.

This case reminds me so much of the Gypsy Rose case. Total mind control from the parent that you’re supposed to be able to trust with your life. Adult or not, mental manipulation is REAL and no justice for the victim is totally disgusting. Especially because had he ended up taking matters into his own hands, like Gypsy did, he would surely be in prison.

It’s hard for people to understand but when you’re isolated with your abuser they become your everything even if you know they hurt you. You start to tell yourself that it’s just your issue. Edit: I thought that man, Quanell (spelling?) was a good man, but I'm seeing a lot of comments in reply to mine that are saying he's not. I'm really, really sorry. I didn't know. Thanks, you guys, for replying and telling me, and any others who didn't know. The rest of my comment holds true, however: Rudy saying the abuse wasn't rape hurts my heart. He's doing what so many of us who've been abused do--minimizing the affect of what was done to make it sound like so much less than it was. He needs aftercare in the biggest way. I understand he wants to just live on his own and try to sort things out in his own mind, especially after how controlled and manipulated he's been for so many years, but left to his own devices, he may not heal as well as if he has a professional helping him sort through this quagmire of awful abuse. But it needs to be someone who's considerate, not overly pushy, and likely not a woman, since it was a woman who abused him.

When she reported it, he was missing. He took off and (we think) was gone for at least a day, maybe two. Supposedly, she reported him missing before he came back, but when he returned hours later, she never let police know he’d returned. At least right now, that is my understanding of what happened. She lied at the onset about him walking dogs that they apparently never had, so who knows. Maybe the whole thing was a set up from the onset.
