Mother Earth (Overture) & Ice Queen - Sharon den Adel (live) reaction! 

The best live version ever. The orchestra is sublime. Sharon has an angel like face and voice matching it. And the drums are fantastic.

Long time ago i saw them live at a concert in my town. She have a great voice.

This is where goosebumps come from - music like this... OMG. SO much drive coming from the orchestra - I can't imagine what this feels like live... I love the way she sings out of the major key into a minor and right back. I can feel that all the way to my toes... She is softly angelic and, at the same time, she is not at all afraid to wield the power of her voice...

This song got me into symphonic Metal. Such a great song and an amazing performance. I saw them live once on another occasion. Awsome!

What would happen if Floor and Sharon made a duet...or a trio with Henk Poort??? Omg...I would totally put that song on REPEAT!!!!!

I saw and shot Within Temptation at M'era Luna Festival in Germany. Passed Sharon in the backstage area and exchanged just a short "Hello" told best wishes for the headliner show some hours later. She was very natural and friendly.

Oh yes, I remember this performance. It's at the night of the Proms. I was at the concert at Ahoy, Rotterdam. Spectacular isn't it. This is a yearly event and every year has different artists performing. This year was also the year Roxette performed. Can't remember the rest of the performers atm, but Sharon and Roxette made a lasting impression.

My goodness, I can only imagine being there and hearing this!

Sharon started it all in the Netherlands, she inspired Floor.. nuf said. She's our Ice Queen, eventho she's just about the sweetest human being alive, very humble, funny and what a voice... omg. You mentioned disappointment in other concerts (unrelated to this concert) and i had something like that happen. A good few years ago, i was at a metal festival and one of the bands was "Dream Theater" incredible band, all masterclass musicians and the songs were great, they played perfectly and they were.... boring.... Now dont get me wrong, it was an amazing concert and i did enjoy myself but... it was like listening to the Album, it was exactly the same... impressive for sure... but too perfect and nothing really happened in the music, other than exactly what you knew from the songs already. So its a bit of a mixed feeling, on one hand.. amazing concert but on the other hand... they didnt add anything and i found that a bit disappointing. Oh and ofc, thnx for the react man, Sharon never ever disappoints, she's simply to awesome ;)

It's a percussion pad where the percussionist plays the timpani part ;) and if I'm not mistaken this is a performance on the The night of the proms concerts.

Fun fact: For this because the orchestry is so overwhelming they really had to think about what parts they would play and what the bands would do. And as it turns out people in orchestras like this use entirely different notes as the pop music world apparently so all the sheet music needed to be 'translated'.

Used to love Within Temptation, but lately they took a turn for the more pop/generic sound and they lost me, but still love to listen to their earlier stuff.

Those "drum" pads are programmable to any digital sound from all kinds of percussion to speech fragments or even burps and farts.

I went to one of their concerts. It was amazing. Unfortunatly not this one with the orchestra

Isn't Sharon the most prolific songwriter among the metal queens? Like, for decades she has written her own stuff. Which explains why it so suits her angel voice.

I am so much looking forward to WTs "Aftermath" streaming show later today! I am so curios about the announced guest singers. Tarja will be one, which was quite obvious. Do you have a ticket for the virtual show as well?

HxC - don't forget about "The Unforgiving" and "Hydra" albums. But, before you move ahead with this group, you might also like "Angels" a look from "Silent Force"... :) I grew up in CA during the late 60s, through the 70s and 80s and I still love the classic bands but they are no match for WT...
