It happens with me too.. He can’t take stand for me even I have done love marriage with him but after marriage I realised I lost all d ways of happiness and smile due to my mother in law & sis in law controlling and manipulative nature.. My husband who used to love me a lot before marriage now hé don’t feels anything for me due to their constant manipulation, they always tried to to find my fault and bring me down before him.. Exactly , I know right? Mother in laws with old fashion ideals, that are so deeply ingrained into their beliefs, can only “act sweet” for a few days, at best. I had to walk out. My mental health deteriorated so much in six “insult laden” weeks. She was a petulant pariah. 30 years later, she is 86, totally defeated and deflated. She never managed to get her claws into me. We live away from them. When the time comes and they need help, THEIR own daughter can care for them. They financially exploited me for 30 years.. but that’s another story 😒

And brutal truth that when husband of a woman will say that her parents are interfering in their personal lives, mostly wife's mother, then wife will pack all her belongings and simply will go to her parental home. In such situation, woman will like you call that husband misogynist because he said that her mother is interfering too much. This is what exactly happened with my maternal uncle. My mother is fed up with such type of feminism. She tells me real woman are those who are rani laxmi bai, amitra pritam fought for independence. Please don't generalize. Not all mothers in law are bad. Some are really good and caring. My mom in law is so loving and caring. She loves me just like her own daughter and she treats me the same way she treats her sons.

Sorry for your situation one should not behave like that but at the same time you do self analysis for the reason they are behaving like it because maybe you are allowing your mother so much by any chance. I know you feel bad by listening that your mom case but in most cases Indian girls unknowingly listen to her mother which is definitely not good. Like you expect that husband should have own decision and independece you should also maintain limit with your parents. You should not expect in one way that husband family should not interfere but it's ok your parents and siblings interfere. It is the main reason why so many marriage is in trouble today.

This happened to me indirectly. My father in law refused to pay his grandchildren’s school fees even though my husband worked for him. All my money went to the school . I was penniless for 17 years. Now I stay away from them. They are elderly and need a carer. I stay away. Let them suffer. Let them spend the money that I subsidised on their business ( about £100,000 over 17 years) on a nursemaid, cook, cleaner, gardner and whatever other service they surely expected of me! I am getting a lot of hostility from their daughter because she has to care for them. I DON’T CARE. My husband agrees with me that it was wrong to financially abuse me over the years but says it was out of his control. He has no balls when it comes to his parents, so I grew some balls instead. I’m not going to care for my abusers who didn’t give a fuck about my poor quality of life due to having no money. They did ZERO for me. I have no security apart from my parent’s inheritance, and they are trying to get their greedy fingers on that too!😒

My mother in law was always terribly rude to me when my husband and his dad were at work ( family business) When my husband returned from work and I explained to him how bad she was, he’d gaslight me and tell me I misunderstood her, he believed his mother was not capable of behaving like that. I was going crazy. Then came the iPhone……😏 I recorded her. He was gobsmacked. He was truly shocked! We moved out ( enduring drama and tantrums from mil whilst doing so..) No regrets. She still tries to control from afar… but 25 years have passed and she has not succeeded. She must be THE MOST FRUSTRATED mother in law on earth!😏😝
