I lived in Arizona for years . Monsoon season first 2 weeks of August. Moved there in the first week of August. I will never forget that flow of water that crashed right behind the car as we were just cruising down a major highway. Then on the news - some car floated 1/2 mile . I had just moved to a high mountain desert? What I didn't know . What I still don't . This planet is very much alive and quite capable of taking care of itself ....and us.

Why oh why, when there's raging, out of control flood waters, do some people stand close to it and stare at it? Do they think, if they concentrate enough, and will it to subside, it will? I would be gone before it got worse. Geez
