If they gave them a life sentence they would have been up for parole in 14 years in most states. Very few life sentences are actually life sentences unless specifically stated “without parole,” which is what they should have received.
I remember when this happened and all of the details came to light. The media was interviewing the janitor at school and she said what a good boy he was and that if his mom didn’t want him, she would’ve gladly raised him. There was no reason for what they did.She even said that if anyone else couldn’t take care of their children to please please reach out to someone. This woman cared and grieved more than his own mother.
29 year old man here, burst into tears after picturing little james running after the car and grabbing it as they tried to drive off, i can't even imagine what was going through his mind and that was his last thought... im absolutely broken
@@Congor7-Unfortunately, there’s Far Worse stories that Are, & Will come out in the not so distant future. Those “in the know”, are All praying for those who have had their heads in the sand. 🙏⚖️🙏🇺🇸🙏
There's a book called " A child called it" its about a horrible child abuse case from the 70s bust its the first book of 3 from the man who survived all that abuse and became a wonderful human being fighting for others being abused
I'll never understand how a person could do something to their own child. Treating something so precious like garbage is inhuman. Twenty-one years is a joke.
If they did not want the kid anymore, they could literally have just left him at CPS. I am imagining this poor kid, being put out in the woods by the parents and dragged after the car because he was desperately trying to get back into the car with the people that obviously did not love him. What a poor poor little soul to have suck bad parents
I got an MBA and recently I told my friend who got a law degree (and was a criminal defense trial attorney) that I wish I'd have gone to law school because I think I would be more fulfilled working cases. Her response was sincere: "You couldn't take all the injustice you would see." I know she's a stronger spirit than I in this regard. Justice and the law rarely coincide. But we must always try.
They stole the next 70+ years of that child's life and TOGETHER their sentences only add up to 40 years that just sick. She should be thrown under the prison for doing that to her child and be locked up for life no parolem. I got friends doing 35 years for meth trafficking first time ever arrested.... injustice is an understatement
@@danepatterson8107 Yeah this is totally true. I'm an archaeologist and I dropped out of law school because I realized I was just making a huge financial mistake and all my professors and advisors displaying their envy at what I'd accomplished in 28 years, that I would rather dig holes in the dirt than through my client's pockets. Every time on RU-vid comments people just completely fail to realize laws, ethics and morality are all entirely different things. Most people don't realize either that 95% of all legal work and professionalism is because of an understanding of jargon and historical case law which is hardly anything because at my job I have to do every legal and court system imaginable and then some on top of every other aspect of humanity and life. American law is just kind of boring. Anyways I wish more people weren't so stupid though so they understood what they were looking at instead of just having tantrums about what they don't understand. The easiest thing anyone can do is teach themselves.
What you have to remember is that the sentence is supposed to rehabilitate the person so that they can rejoin society, rather than purely be a punishment; otherwise we would not have gone away from the Eye for an Eye justice system. I am not saying that it actually accomplishes the goal of rehabilitation, but that is the idea.
She abandoned her 4 year old son in the woods and ran him over while he was trying to get back into the car, took his corpse home and left him in a spare room before driving to hurl his tiny body off a bridge and be lost to the water forevermore and she only got 21 years?? That’s utterly obscene, absolutely despicable.
please don’t take this wrong but he was around 6-7 both ages were stated in this video just saying, ofc it doesn’t change anything but i thought she did the same to her 4yo at first when i read this comment
@@arvindrueben Best way to stick it to horrible people in court is getting your facts straight. Also helps stop the spread of misinformation. I agree with you, but no reason we can't make sure we got it all right.
How scared little James must have been, being dumped out of the truck from his family to be left alone by himself in the dark woods. I'm sure the other kids were crying hysterically knowing their brother was left, then run over and dumped. Evil.
For someone who claims she'd never think of abandoning her kids and whose 6 year old died in a horrific accident, she shows absolutely zero emotion. I'd be more upset than this if it had happened to my cat.
Thats what I said, I thought child endangerment or first degree murder was a felony for life in prison with no parole. I wonder if the judge considered it second degree since the parents didn't try to drive into him, just leave him.
I can't imagine this. I lost my girls and it still breaks me. I don't know how you wilfully just abandon a small child and go on with your life. She is vile
I can't imagine the horror of that little boy as they tried to drive off. That's a nightmare. Just put them up for adoption. GOD bless those little one's.
My 18 year old was in an awful car accident but thankfully made a full recovery...I still can't talk about the accident without getting emotional. I can't imagine being able to talk about a kids death with zero emotion. Awful.
That’s because you’re not a monster, you are human with emotions like a majority of us out here. ❤ these people don’t have emotions to be able to understand that.
Right!?! My 20 year old was in an accident about 3 weeks ago in which her wrist was broken. She called me and when she told me she was standing outside her car holding her arm and I could clearly hear that she was in pain, I about lost it!! And she received minor injuries!! I can't even imagine doing something like this to your child!!
I'm father and grandfather. It's to me always heartbreaking what some people do to their own offsprings. We always treated our kids like diamonds. I'd die for them. Not the other way around. Sick world.
... And throw away the key. Ironically, I'm typing this, expecting the next word prompt to anticipate 'key', but instead it suggests *'KIDS'.* Holly crap. 😮
This happened in my town..my son went to the same school with these poor babies 😢 I still remember this 😢 and my heart breaks every time I think about these children 💔
21 and 19 years for killing that poor child? HER CHILD??? that's not enough time in prison for horrible people like themselves. She kept referring to her son as it. Or the little boy. They should never be apart of society again
My mom had a saying, "You can replace your husband/boyfriend, but never your children". I wonder where the children's father is. These two people should have gotten life in prison. I can't imagine how traumatized that poor little boy's siblings are. People are so full of evil!!!
As a mother to a little boy myself this absolutely breaks my heart. I don't ever wish pain upon anyone. But I hope prison is absolute hell for her and her disgusting boyfriend. Absolutely heart wrenching 😢😢😢
She did the most horrendous crime killing her own child in her own will, yet did not receive maximum penalty. While her boyfriend whose a collaborator got received maximum sentence? 😮
He uses a lot of click bait, and there are a lot of mistakes in the captions. But he gets a pass because the commentary is superb and the editing/videos are always entertaining
Cop: I've been in this job for 28 years. Nothing you tell me can shock me. Brittany: I tried to dump my kids; James was dragged to his death under the van; we threw his body into the river. Cop: Revises his entire career.
@@alexmcvey1609 What about the picture do you think would cause someone to think, boy, I bet that's really something. I have to check it out. That is what clickbait is all about. It was misleading, but I just don't see anything about it as an inducement to click on the link.
I get the concept behind the "looking into eyes" thing, and this is anecdotal, but I have a hard time looking people in the eyes when I talk if I'm nervous or anxious about ANYTHING. There are exceptions
That's not always indicative of lying. The direction people look when giving details has to do with real memory (more visual) than a memorized story and alibi. Usually the right is memory but it can vary. Also, lie detectors are bullcrap. They're not even admissible in court. Don't ever take one, they're just to manipulate "confessions".
8:38 A polygraph cannot tell you if someone is telling you the truth. On another note, it would be nice if the thumbnail were more related to the story being told.
Did this mother not run over her son? I know it’s not her in the picture but the case is about her running her child over “I ran him over?” Is what’s on the thumbnail. Pretty close other than the picture of the woman who did it.
They intended to leave three boys in the woods right? That is the same as killing them. That should be two counts of attempted murder +1 count of actual murder. End it should’ve been life in prison or the death penalty
OH MY FUCKING GOD! She was abandoning the kid, and the poor buy grabbed the vehicle not wanting to be left. I never wanted to cry so bad. Just gut wrenching. I'm sorry kid.
This is yet another example why I think there should be NO age limit with all the safe haven laws. If parents get overwhelmed maybe they'd drop them off safely instead if abusing or murdering them.
@@ryanchoate9146 That's the element of "safe haven" laws If you give birth to a baby you don't want you can legally drop them off at a fire station or a hospital and give up your parental rights without legal repercussion. I think the OP is saying they think there should be no age limit of the child. If you have a 6 year old you don't want or are afraid of hurting you should drop them off at a safe haven. I agree.
The "parents" have the defenseless children all to themselves. All the time to abuse and project their hatred on those children . And the "parents" get paid to have them. I think their soulless
Oh my gosh, she has no conscience. She doesn’t even call him her son that is the most horrible thing I’ve ever heard. God bless that little boy at least he’s with Jesus right now and I pray the other children never have to have anything to do with their mother again, and that somebody with Grace and love will take them in
People like me would love to have a child of their own no matter how many and then there are people like her. Shouldn't let people have kids unless they can prove they love an animal. It takes patience to be a loving parent.
I've watched many of these videos it's just so horrifying to see people being nonchalant and dismissive especially when they're talking about a loved one . To just be so unfeeling and Soul less even your children mean nothing
I wouldn’t believe this woman if she said that water was wet! She is a horrible excuse of a woman and Mother. Dear God, I am so sick of these stories like this one where these despicable women hook up with “boyfriends”, and their kids pay the ultimate price like poor little James. I mean I just shudder every time I think of this little boy being left behind, and then falling and being run over. If there is ANY truth to this story. I mean imagine his little heart breaking as he realized his Mother was leaving him on the side of the road on a cold, wet, rainy night.
21 years she took a life so she should lose her life or rot in prison for the rest of her disgusting life! She didnt even shed one tear im so disgusted by this case that poor little baby boy what is wrong with people
I just cannot believe the evil in this so called mother. That poor little boy isn’t going to get to come back-ever so 19 and 21 years isn’t punishment enough.
I watched this case before. The boyfriend was not with her when she went. All 3 kid were out of the car and she floored it. That’s when James was killed. She took his dead body home put him on the living room floor. The bf put him upstairs for 2 days then they both took his body and dumped it over a bridge. The one thing you had right was his body was never found. Rip James❤
Truthfully, since there’s no body, these people could have strangled this poor child and buried him somewhere…. I don’t believe their story of running over the child by “accident!” I wouldn’t believe a word they say!
Even if true, imagine this poor buy being kicked out of the car in a cold dark forest, desperately trying to get back into the car before they drove off, leaving him all alone and scared, just to end up being run over by the car, and having to spend his last living moments on the ground in that cold dark forest while his life ebbed out. Even when they drove him to the forest to "dispose" of him, the kid tried to get back into the car with these people that obviously did not love him at all. Heartbreaking
Nothing, just the usual clickbait. They even do it with child molestor cases....Takes someone that never molested a child and uses them for thumbnail of videos of people that did.
They literally would have had a better chance of getting away with it by not saying anything at all and when asked socially, said he went to go live with his father, *but it's obviously better these POS were caught and the other children rescued.*
So sad. That poor baby didn’t deserve any of that 😢 The fact that they waited most of the night to call the police because he was “missing”. I panic if I can’t find my nieces or nephews after calling for them when babysitting. I don’t go more than 20 minutes without setting my eyes on them. (Time depending on age of course). So to go hours without alerting the police…. So saddening.
8:46 This clip of James is really inappropriate. Scoring a black line through his eyes like that is in vile poor taste, shame on you for needing to add your extra drama to an already heartbreaking story😞
Killing your six year old and then throwing him off a bridge... To me that sounds so bizarre and unreal. It's so far beyond my comprehension. If anything ever happened to my children I don't know what I would do. They are my heart and life. That mother is pure evil.
This story broke my heart that poor little boy watching his momma drive away and then he gets killed!!! Wtf if you dont want kids keep your damn legs closed or put him up for adoption this just tears me to pieces!!
Guess I better hope I never get questioned by the cops because I’m awkward when it comes to telling stories so I always avoid eye contact and tend to look up-it helps me sort details in my head and not stutter when telling a story.
19 and 21 years for killing a defenseless child?? Shocking! Child endangerment stopped when the boy died. The creep bf should have been charged for accomplice to murder. Was the judge paid off? I'm sure the bf will have a "nice" time in for killing a child.
