My sister was a mother of 3 kids, a wife, she had job, she went to university until she had a very stressful episode and she never came fully out. After that her kids explained her episodes, she had schizophrenia after a while without medication, we begin to see how her life changed drastically. She didn't understand the impact of her behavior ... she never did 100% because not every pill is the correct pill so stop your judgments. Because if this was your kid, u want them to understand him or her. Mental illness has destroyed America and I'm sure, you have some to so don't just unless u look in the mirror. @@rec.thecriticHi, you're right mental illness is no joke. I lost my 2 young nieces & my sister in-law years ago to trauma no one knew she suffered in childhood. I suffered from major depression myself as did my husband after getting hit by a car. My son lost his friend after a sudden onset @ 19 of this illness. I think Sydney was overwhelmed when her grades started slipping & home sick. She seemed to think everyone else was doing great & she didn't want anyone to know she wasn't especially her parents her Mom more than her Dad. My point is I don't believe she has schizophrenia maybe impulse control bc she's a narcissist & lost it when the school called her Mom. It doesn’t make you insane but it means a psychotic episode, or psychosis is more likely to happen to them. Everyone’s cancer isn’t the same, everyone’s flu isn’t the same, the appetites aren’t the same so don’t lump mental illnesses into a box formed by your own experiences. There’s science to back these things up. Not just anecdotal evidence
@HeavenlyPresley-Tonya
@HeavenlyPresley-Tonya 11 месяцев назад
@@rockstarmom3121 Law Dictionary ---insanity n. mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, cannot conduct her/his affairs due to psychosis, or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior. Insanity is distinguished from low intelligence or mental deficiency due to age or injury. If a complaint is made to law enforcement, to the District Attorney or to medical personnel that a person is evidencing psychotic behavior, he/she may be confined to a medical facility long enough (typically 72 hours) to be examined by psychiatrists who submit written reports to the local superior/county/district court. A hearing is then held before a judge, with the person in question entitled to legal representation, to determine if she/he should be placed in an institution or special facility. The person ordered institutionalized at the hearing may request a trial to determine sanity. Particularly since the original hearings are often routine with the psychiatric findings accepted by the judge. In criminal cases, a plea of "not guilty by reason of insanity" will require a trial on the issue of the defendant's insanity (or sanity) at the time the crime was committed. In these cases the defendant usually claims "temporary insanity" (crazy then, but okay now). The traditional test of insanity in criminal cases is whether the accused knew "the difference between right and wrong," following the "M'Naughten rule" from 19th century England. Most states require more sophisticated tests based on psychiatric and/or psychological testimony evaluated by a jury of laypersons or a judge without psychiatric training. A claim by a criminal defendant of his/her insanity at the time of trial requires a separate hearing to determine if a defendant is sufficiently sane to understand the nature of a trial and participate in his/her own defense. If found to be insane, the defendant will be ordered to a mental facility, and the trial will be held only if sanity returns

She was normal before till a beating from her husband and a sexual abuse to one of her sisters. She never ever came back from that. She would hide the alcohol from us, but her mind was gone. Sometimes she come back, without the alcohol and stress, she be calmed. Yes! Just like Leticia Stauch's laughable defense. Leticia was lucky enough to find a out of touch expert to testify she did have multiple personalities. It was epic when in court this expert was shown to have said everyone she has met with has multiple personalities. The majority of schizophrenics who find out they have harmed someone are inconsolable. Andrea Yates has refused parole because she knows she did it and won't let herself possibly do it again. The expert who agreed with Leticia was in a documentary called Crazy Not Insane. It showed Billy Milligan having multiples but he didn't, he was just smart enough to keep the stories straight for years. That's a interestingly bizarre long case . She also said Ted Bundy has multiples but in that instance it could be possible. He showed signs from school age.

When she started University or College & she was having trouble keeping up her grades only then she chose to kept it a secret & everything went down hill from there. Right-ho! All the behavior examples this lawyer is talking about.... Panic attacks? Voices in your head telling you you're worthless? Fear of failure? Freezing up? Sounds like what many people experience when they get stressed out or anxious. Probably says more about the family that her parents didn't get her treated for anxiety, since they seem to have money enough. From prosecution's opening, it sounded like their philosophy was "buckle down and finish what you started." Very problematic: I would look there first, and not to something like schizophrenia.

For her dad to continue to make excuses for her reckless behavior is appalling. Meanwhile, they have to waste taxpayers money to go to trial, begging for sympathy? I hope the jurors see through her big web of lies. Colleges should revisit their policy, and consider “mandatory” written/verbal notification of parents/guardian when students under 21 are “expelled” and coordinate a safe campus exit with the police department.
