Natalie Merchant performing live at the Perkins School for the Blind Possibilities Gala on May 7, 2009 with The Perkins Trio, accompanied by Livingston Taylor on guitar and Brian Maes on piano.
I know this wonderful woman personally, and she is just as beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. She cares more for others than for herself, She also becomes more beautiful every year. Thanks, my dear.
To the 20 of you out there who gave a negative vote on this video all that I can say to you is that you should all be truely ashamed of yourselves.....this was a truely wonderful and moving performance by Natalie and her fellow collaborators.
His name is John Castillo. He is part of the "Perkins Trio" at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts. Saw him in their christmas concert last week. Incredible show. Wonderful kids.....very emotional for all.
This is one of the most touching duets I have ever heard. I've played it several times and know I will come back many more times. Such talent. These two beautiful voices were meant to sing this song together.
I cannot think of a more beautiful version of this sung by Natalie. My gosh, this is so beautiful. Natalie is such a kind, warm, compassionate and generous human being. She embodies many traits we can all aspire to. That's us on the left shaking hands at our 1st meeting April 8, 1999 after I presented her with a bouquet of a dozen steel roses I welded for her. I adore this woman immensely.
Natalie knows how to celebrate beauty because she is a beautiful person in so many ways you can see she has her heart on her sleeve. Thank you for sharing these moments in time that you just wish you seen and felt in person.
This is absolutely beautiful!! What an amazing voice the young gentleman has....and Natalie is the best! Her compassion and love radiate throughout this performance!!!!
One of the many incredible works by Natalie Merchant...I have listened to her sing this live countless times...this performance though is so special..brought me to tears.
Often I wonder what I’m actually doing and why-then I see these videos and it all comes flooding back to me in tears. It’s a great gift/perspective-the lives we have the privilege to touch each day. Thanks Natalie Merchant for your gifts and reminding all who worked with individuals with disabilities of the gift they give us when we take time to be present in the moment while working alongside them. All 3 videos you did at Perkins School for the Blind are incredible-true treasures. THANK YOU!!!
I've loved Natalie Merchant & 10000 Maniacs for a long time but have never seen this before. Natalie is a spiritually beautiful person; It's uplifting to see & hear this performance. XX
I was blessed by this for the first time as I’m beginning my day searching for the alternative to the angry chaos the world is in . I was blessed to see and hear this . I will be sharing it . God Bless her ❤️🙏
This is really a great rendition of one of the best songs that has ever been written. The blind boy is singing so great and also of course Natalie! So much passion!!!
I just saw/heard John Castillo tonight for the first time at the Summer Revels in Watertown, MA. AWESOME voice! His dad told me about THIS youtube with Natalie, and I'm even more blown away. I hope someone out there records a cd with/for/of John: I'll buy a bunch!
This is a fantastic live performance. Beautifully done by both of them. This song should be included and released in the future on a Natalie Merchant Live EP.
C'est tellement touchant, j'en verse des larmes de bonheur partagées de tristesse en pensant au départ récent de ma mère, elle est partie entouré de si bons soins et de tant d'amour de ses enfants. Repose en paix ma bonne petite maman, tu le mérites!
In addition to the brilliance and love this duet shares for everyone that is able to listen, to see it, the players are really touching. There is something about the violins note bends that adds to the piece. And it is Livingston Taylor, James’ brother, playing guitar and really enjoying the singing by the young man.
