About Motherland:

Congratulations, team Motherland. This episode is so intense for every character especially during the Raelle and Scylla's last dance. The song and flasback really break my heart. The most beautiful moments ever in TV series for me.

I love how they portray Abigail, I mean she is clearly a badass, but she is going to experience trauma, a strong character does not mean they nothing affects them at all.

I hate that I love this show so much. It got me hooked with the alternative history vibe, the witches in military, and then it gave us Raelle/Scylla relationship which is all the reasons I love it. I hate it because I know statistically speaking gay characters never get happy endings and I feel this is the episode where the end starts. But damn that kiss showing up to Anacostia, well damn.

That was my same hook to the show, the historical mix-ups. I'm a fan of Scylla x Raelle, too, but I'm not thrown around by it. I've decided to try and see what this show can create for itself and stand as it's own series, instead. So, in my thoughts on Scylla's future: she's not done yet. The character has some real investment it seems like (idk, call it a vibe if you want), and there are some cool redemption arc ideas they could put in place that could make this show even better. Basically what I'm saying is that it would ultimately be a detriment to it's potential by eliminating such an outstanding character so soon. 👍

I mean Raelle and Scylla’s story isn’t done yet. the next two episodes have to do with Scylla. They aren’t gonna be all romantic and sweet once Scylla’s real initial motive is revealed but I don’t think it’s gonna be the classic death ending. At least I hope not 🤞🤞

The romance is a plot device to move the plot. The characters have chemistry, but I'm more interested in the character development as a whole. I wrote a novel using romance as a plot device, but the book is a romantic thriller. Regular romance is formulaic and ends with all parties happy, but this show is more interesting than just a romantic plot. However, I think the romantic angle did move the story forward. Raell is already filled with psychological pain and trauma, this betrayal will either steer her towards a greater destiny or break her. I'm hoping for the former. I wish Abigail's character would develop more. She's so insecure and needy for everyone's approval. Yes, she's an alpha female, but can she grow with her unit to be a gamma. And I think Tally is going to be quite capable as a warrior. Overall though, Raell steals the show. If I never see Scilla again, I won't be disappointed. She's really done serious damage to Raell. I was feeling somewhat sorry for her...like what is her backstory that she turned on her own kind, but innocent people were murdered and I feel for how Raell will take the betrayal. Sad.

The most heartbreaking moment for me was when Scylla told Raelle she loved her, knowing she'll be killed because of it.

I knew pretty early on that there would come a point that Scylla would have to choose between saving or ending Raelle, and the way their relationship worked out, I called it then. Even with that being said, the moment she was put to that decision was still super impactful. The episode was pretty straightforward with the devastating 1-2-3 knock back for each protagonist. Tally, after finding her first passionate love, having it stripped away right after. Abigail, trying to respect the day with honorable intentions and letting it go to her cousin, only for her (cousin) to be brutally murdered. Then Raelle, with the longest running relationship and the best chemistry in the show thus far, only to be separated, possibly forever. AND all done while still providing more insight to this different world with historical mix-ups (+ lore, basically). So far, this show has becoming rather promising, and I'm excited to see it's future.

I like your assessment. And I agree the Scylla/Raell romance moved the plot forward, but couldn't last if the characters are to go through serious development. Abigail's loss was brutal to witness. This episode was all about loss, betrayal, and trauma. I'm excited to see the aftermath of the brutality next week.

Best episode by far. I loved the Raelle and Scylla scenes. Scylla chose Raelle and made sure she was safe. This episode had me crying

it was a slow start but as soon as that passed by, it was an awesome episode. When the actor keep saying that abigail is so powerful in hand to hand combat, I was like there's no way. She's literally a kid. But she fought 2 Spree that killed her cousin who actually in war college by herself before her mother came. That was pretty amazing. Abigail is going to be an awesome soldier. The units are broken. But i have a feeling this grief that the 3 are feelings will helped them become more powerful. It will be fascinating to see how their future as soldier is turning into

One of the interesting things that I note about the BellWeather family, is that when the showrunner is talking about this family in regards to its political and wealth status it seems very Kennedy like.

Yeah! To me the most interesting is part is that I remember them saying the first Bellweather was a former slave, and now they're practically royalty. They're definitely a big symbol of what this alternate universe is like in many ways.

Since season 2 has aired, looking back at this episode; it makes me understand that those two people who attacked Abigail were not Spree. They were Camarilla and it kind of makes sense now that the attackers had to douse themselves with lighter fluid whereas witch Spree burn themselves up directly. It makes me think that Charvel's wedding was actually a double attack. The Spree were attacking from outside and two Camarilla operatives slipped in to kill Charvel. Am I making sense here??

This show was awesome!! First time watching it binged it in a week was trying my best to space it out. Thank for now letting me know and confirming that the breastplate is where the noise was coming from, I was wondering where. Spoilers I thought from the last episode with the with the voice box from the Ancient Enemy and this episode was linked I hope that this is confirming this. What was the deal with the last episode had me in shocked and speechless I am still a bit confused about that ending, is it the Mother of Raielle( Forgive my spelling). Also I want to know more about the 6 women who follow and pledge allegiance to general. I got a bit from Tally. I still want to know more about it. I might as well watch the rest of this after this storm

We need more in-depth stories into the spree and the military and less Raelle Scylla drama. It seems the show now a basically a team drama cos we get 40mins of Raelle and Scylla hooking up and less time for the other plots well it’s freeform so I get it. This episode was my favorite of the season so far cos of the fight scenes and Abigail was so great this episode!

Scylla pisses me off. Raelle is so clueless and it’s annoying. Lol Raelle has so much potential along with Tally and Abigail, but they’re constantly facing extra BS. I want to see this unit thrive. My heart hurt for ALL of them.

Raelle is an overly self-involved / self-centered ahole. Part of making good three dimensional characters is giving them flaws, which is part of why i like her. Great job. writers!
