If Petra thinks being head of the Army is gonna be all sunshine and roses just cause she’s in charge now she’s got another thing coming. I think she’s gonna realise pretty quick that Alder’s job wasn’t easy and she made it look easier than it actually was. It’s easy to criticise and say you’ll do better, but it’s different when you are actually given the job and realise the enormity of it and all the pressure and responsibility you have on your shoulders.

Totally agree. It's easier said than done. I hope we get to see Petra feel that. Alder may look like she's doing things wrongly but having lived 300 over years and having gone through so much lost can make a person hard. She's always fight for witches. I'm not sure if Petra is willing to sacrifice for her own believes.

I swear you couldn’t get a better bunch of people to play these roles, the way they talk about the show throughout all these after the storms is so amazing and they are so in touch with their characters (the way Lyne talked about Alder this episode is a great example) it’s so refreshing from a viewers POV. I’ll be devastated if one of them die’s and leaves the show.

The acting is pretty exceptional in this series, Lyne Renee being such a force when it comes to portraying such palpable emotion during her scenes. I am so excited for the season finale, but I genuinely don't want to see Alder go. I really like her as a character.

I disliked Alder in the first season towards the end but now I adore her and I understand her so much better! The things she’s seen throughout all those years and the people she’s lost... it’s not something easy to bear. And she’s doing her best!! She didn’t deserve this! I love Tally but I wish she hadn’t done that... Now Alder is no longer in charge and I just know that will make the army super vulnerable smh... alder please come back 😭😭😭 y’all better not harm my girl!! I saw the trailer for the next ep and saw her on the ground looking in pain and I DO NOT LIKE THIS ONE BIT!! She better not be killed or imma sue 😭

They didn't even lasted an hour withour Alder that they just got infiltrated and attacked by the Caramarilla smh . If i were Alder i'll peace out and took the next plane to pass the rest of her days on some paradise, leaving them to there own devices, but she won't do that sadly because her whole goal will always be the safety of witches, even ungratefull ones.

I admire Lyne for how brilliantly she portrayed Alder. I cannot imagine anyone else being Alder than her. Huge respect for her acting!!!! Episode 9 was amazing and I almost cried when I heard the song of grief. Though I have a very bad feeling about the last episode.

I think Alder is going to be killed defending all the witches showing she is human and cared for everyone. She will then become part of the mycelium and we will see her in raelle mind. Remember grief is what created the mycelium, her death will make every witch stronger. S4 gonna be crazy

I feel so much for Alder ...she was always underapreciated and villanised by the whole witch community...and to give her life in the finale would be the ultimate redemption for Her?!?! She just lived 300 years , took in all that trauma, revive the entire witch community just to be taken for granted and sacrificed? Ofcourse she did many bad things, like Adil said, sometimes it's the only way! They all cared about Nicta's truth but NOBODY BOTHERED TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY (WITCHES) ARE LITERALLY STILL ALIVE AND NOT EXTINCT OR BURNED BECAUSE OF ALDER AND ONLY ALDER?!?! TBH didn't quite like Tally(her actions) this episode and the fact that the heartwrenching depiction of Alder's past will probably remain with Raelle(who tbh isn't THAT upset about it, and I don't blame her for it) but TALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE ALDER'S STRUGGLE IN THE PAST TOO, NOT JUST HER WRONGDOINGS! COME ON

I always get annoyed with the idea of people "speaking there truth", it seems very short sighted, Tally revealed one truth not the whole truth, she never got to the whole context of her visions and let's be honest she is very easily manipulated, but that goes to show how young her mind still is for not considering the long term effects of her actions, which i have no doubts are going to backfire.

I respected Alder from Season 1 until now. This episode made me love Alder. I have always yearned to see her softer side as she has this wall up on her all the time. I hope Alder's story is not yet done. I don't want to lose Alder now as much as I don't want to lose any of our main girls.

Alder is one of the better written arcs, despite her not being a main character. In some episodes, I've been sympathetic to her and at other times wanting her to be removed. The impressive part is the view of her largely changes due to more and more context being provided. I think this highlights an important difference between her and Petra. Responding to short term events isn't always the best long term answer. I thought Alder talking about the wars she had been in, and the benefit of a single enemy, the Spree as a way to reduce country-to-country war, raises the question of whether morally absent actions can still be the best long-term, net strategy. Good writing to me is when the viewer is left with meaningful questions and unclear answers. Bravo.

When I first started watching I was wondering if Alder would turn out to be good or bad - and I’m so glad the series didnt take the easy way out by making it that simple - in reality someone who has commanded the military and lived for over 300 years and has abilities that set her apart from the human race of which she is still a part - but also makes her despised and feared by those very people she is to protect - it’s refreshing to have such a complex character on a series! Is she good or bad? Yes, of course! She is human, and we all do good and bad, make good decisions, make terrible decisions, and then there’s good old fashioned mistakes…in short, she is a human with all the requisite flaws and skills and as real as a character can be! I hope she does not die but even so, I think her soul - or some part of her - will reside in the mycellenium/mushroom being (sure I spelled that horribly wrong!) so hopefully every character can “visit” with that in mind no matter what happens! :-) Now, announce Season 3 Renewal already before my stress explodes!!!! :-) :-) :-) LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! :-)

@@DresdenShuffle Ikr? Same. I don't want Sarah Alder to die! Fuck that! I'm loving this Alder story arc. And yes, Talder is just a sweet added bonus. The Talder fanfics are amazing! Still wanna see more of that in Season 3. But, for real. It's clear that Raelle will be Alder's true successor. It's amazing really. Still I want Alder to be around to train Sekhmet on what's what. And maybe being around them will heal her broken heart and soul. Just saying. And no joke, Tally feels for Alder. I know she does. She feels for her because she is not afraid to stand up to her when need be. Respect.

Then moments later we see Anacostia crying and bloodied a bit and she's cradling someone! Fuck! I hope Raelle is there in time to heal her. I just really don't want her to die! It's too soon. I'm almost pretty sure Alder's gonna sacrifice herself or something and die in the meantime She didn't even get a whole day to rest after these 300+ years of trauma ffs!!!! I usually don't bother with most onscreen deaths but I'll be mad if she actually dies. The most interesting character in the whole series for me! And such magnificent acting. 👌 Edit:Alder's not technically dead and I repeat, she's the most interesting, powerful and indispensable part in the witch society and the series

@@celinel9750 I don't want Alder to die either but let's remember the Biddies wasn't her idea, she was coming to the end of her life proudly and it was the goverment that asked that of her, not leaving to much room for her to decide the contrary, and now the same goverment questions her for staying too long in charge 😒 Honestly everyone has been completely ungrateful to her so they should leave her spend the rest of her days in peace, but been MFS i'm guessing that won't be possible.

Cried last episode I Know Alder as done a lot but it’s what she’s witnessed and to the knowledge she possesses is has she’s gotten this far to see her tear down in this way….. I TREMENDOUSLY CRIED…. I love raylla so much, I really do. The representation warms my heart a lot. But what I love even more is the fact that this show is not just a love story, it's so much more than that. It represents life in so many ways and it's just so meaningful. The grief, the loss, the teamwork, the love, the grit, the resilience, the courage, the strength, the hard work, the patience, the sacrifices. All these actors are so so amazing at what they do and I have never loved and appreciated a show this much. Hands down my favourite show ever and I really hope it gets more seasons that it deserves so that everyone working on it can dive deeper into bringing an amazing story to inspire the world to make it a better place. So so thankful and grateful for the creation of this show.

I couldn't breathe for almost the entire execution scene. The emotions and thought process was so clearly written on everyone's faces and I'm screaming internally waiting for the next episode. My biggest question is what WILL happen with Alder and the Biddies. She was almost forced to prolong her life and now the reason for prolonging her life is gone. Will she join the Mycellium? Will she help Raelle fight in the end?

Oh my god… Scylla is UNREAL. I can’t believe she mastered Nicte’s enchantments and created Morgan’s whisper! I can’t wait to see her master more work against the camarilla. THIS SHOW IS AMAZING WE NEED MORE SEASONS!!!

i really hope scylla goes back to kinda good / kinda bad, she's so much more interesting like that. maybe even a little more in the bad column, like HOW she fights the camerilla. in the last couple of episodes of just sad girlfriend and nothing else, she became really boring.

Amazing episode tonight, and the way Tally stop that execution of nicte batan was the right thing, so the spree wouldn’t grow from nicte death. It’s understandable that tally wanted things to change for witches, but at the same time they will not have the experience that Alder has gain in her 300+ year’s. Lastly I think the Vice- president is a member of the camarilla, because of the emotion that was shown with his daughter and that he left so quickly because he new what going to happen. Also seeing the trailer for season finale I think Raelle, Abigail, Tally, and Alder were standing before the Mycelium and I’m curious what that means?

Both Sarah Alder and Nicte Batan can be coined as fallen heroes. Because of other's ignorance. I now understand what Alder thought she had to do, even that incident in Liberia. Camarilla's action gave way to Alder's grief song and eventually birth of Mycelium. Alder's action gave way to Nicte's utter hatred of Sarah and non-witch persons and creation of Spree. I truly hope we get another season (10 more to be precise) where Alder exists(without Biddies? How is that possible!!!) because she deserves to know that her daughters have decimated their Ancient enemy.

No he killed her. Remember the carmarillas sacrifices a witch and he can’t be both carmarillas and have a witch daughter he made a choice on which side he wanted to be with. Raelle asks tally if she can see where the source is so she can use the mycelium to defuse the plague. I’m pretty sure the source is Penelope and that’s where the mad dr is and is giving that creepy smile he gives.

I am still Team Alder. I cried😢😭as she's walking out there, what's all she'd fight and lived for 300 years protecting the witches and civilian's life, just got to waste for just one mistake from the past. She hasn't fully grasp of it though..Tally what have you done. Truth always good to surface but consequences might be too much to handle.Like every decision are gonna be done perfectly right there's always flaws and sacrifices also for instant action taken on a moment of verge danger one only can take a decision which best to safe all. As biddies program been terminated i'm afraid she'll die. No..i can't take that emotion so heavy. VP is really a Camarilla. I hope Raelle knows how to fight that plague now and may Spree and dodger's help defeat them.

VP is carmarillas, he just sacrificed his daughter for them. And if they killed nicte then the army would have had both the spree and carmarillas after them Soo that wouldn’t have been a good move. Plus alder went the wrong way about everything, yes she wanted the witches to survive but then the power went to her head and along the way she tried cover up her mistakes. I like nicte not only cause she’s cute but I think she can bring a lot of helpful aspects to the squad. She’s a leader of innovention, she has experience. I think she’s underrated. Did you see the promo for episode 10 ? There was crows, the same that Scylla used to get those people to dance together what did she call it? Morrigans effect? When she was asked how was she going to use it against the carmarillas she gave that cute evil smile 😊

Loved this episode! The way they dig in on women, leadership, and power is a vibe. I have to believe the show runners won’t get rid of Gen. Alder unless they absolutely have to. I’m also holding out hope they see how fascinating, unique, and authentic an Alder/Craven relationship could be. No one has done a good older/younger lesbian relationship on TV, I don’t think. For them to tease that tension and not see it through, especially now that Alder doesn’t have oversight over Tally at school or in the army, would be **such** a swing and a miss on a rare opportunity.

Disclaimer: THIS MIGHT JUST BE ME TRYING TO COPE WITH ALDER'S DEATH I forgot Nicta is also old like Alder! That means she knows how to not die!!! Maybe she will save her while Anacostia is holding alder(like we see in the finale trailer) after Tally brings/convinces nicta! Then nicta can join the forces maybe!

I really really really REALLY hope Alder stays in the series. She may be hard to figure out but she's so fascinating. Some agree with her and some don't understand her methods but that's the beauty of it, you see both sides and why she does what she does. If she goes I'm really going to miss that.

I always thought Alder was one of the most interesting characters in S1 and she's become my favorite in S2. She reminds me a bit of Lexa, a great leader making extremely hard and seemingly ruthless decisions for her people, appearing stoic but being so grief stricken underneath it all. I truly hope this series doesn't lose her. It would greatly diminish the show. For S3, I hope Raelle regains her edge from S1 & more character/personality development is done with her. Tally needs to be a bit less self-righteous. Abigail and Anacostia are bloody perfect as they are and their character arc has been wonderful. LOVE Willa and looking forward to seeing more of Willa's bff/dodger leader friend. I'd like to see Petra more in a combat role rather than in intelligence or as general (her fight at the wedding is still the most badass fight of all the action scenes in the series). Love Adil, love Scylla, not a fan of M, love Izadora. Really hope they renew this exceptional show.
