Saw those this past weekend. I was wondering how well they worked. Couldn't justify it since I still have the last two lights I bought from Costco still sitting in the box. lol
I use the old style ones all the time down in my wood shop. It only takes a couple minutes to hang them. The programmability of this one is real nice. Thanks for watching.
Those type of Lights at 5.5K make super great lights for Micro Greens. If they make those at 5.5k (of course it would need transparent covers). But for your Purpose in the Barn/tool shed is really a GREAT idea and practical as well. Not to mention security. I didn't catch how much they sell for, I must of missed that part. Now I need to check if they have or make 5.5k lights like that. Wow you sure get my brain a thinking.....LOL Thanks for another Great Vid. P.S I like that little Belt sander as well .
I use the 6k t8 fluorescent bulbs for my grow lights. I am not sure if these would work, especially with the diffuser that seems to modify it some. I would love to find t8 leds for my grow light fixtures. They were on sale for $29.99 at costco.
This is where i got the Idea for LED Grow Lights for Micro Greens, This guy made the 16 Inch Tubes with LED lighting. I am sure he makes Bigger Ones but for Micro greens LED is all that is needed. The problem is to make them as he does. www.microgreenhomekit.com/product-page/city-hydro-base-home-kit, maybe you can get some ideas from it to make your own. I would like to know the HOW as well. His site is www.city-hydro.com If you Make your own Lighting for Micro Greens, I sure want to see it. ( Bet a few others would too.) I was Watching a youtube vid on Greens from John and is where i thought one could build their own set up. ( Less $$) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fO9Q2bnQvLo.html
I grow lettuce every winter under florescent lights ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g9OP2t6Nrt0.html I am hoping soon leds will come down in cost.
I do too, But I hope some day you can figure out how to make your own Lights. Any way you cut the Pie, making your own is always cheaper. You seem to have the knack to coming up with some great builds.
I have it set on the highest sensitivity and it picks me up about 25 feet away. I see some comments about them causing issues if you have 5g wireless and sensing through walls.
My shop is a steel building. 99% of the times that has been a very bad thing but I would be shocked if anything sensed through those walls. When the doors are all closed I loose all wireless access to in my shop.
I read your reply and still threw the whole thing away. It would have been too much work to rework. It only lasted 4 years, but the 50K hours stated lifetime is just over 5 years and the lights going off and on probably shorten the life. However, I do have 3 more. Hope they don’t all die soon.
@@stevenshelton3828 Ours is still fine. Me , I almost didn't survive after the second covid vaccine shot. Ours is only probably turned on and off 15 times a day on average.
Folks should read the reviews on this light regarding interference with 5GHz WiFi - some network routers can be tweaked to co-exist with it, some can't. NOTE that I think it's actually the POWER CORD that senses motion using a 5GHz interference signal (people have had the light come on by walking through past a solid wall with the light on the other side) Still others find that it's _too_ sensitive - wall shake will make it come on. If you're like me and live in an area where vermin (mice, chipmunks, etc) are a problem you should probably expect to see this light come on _a lot_. If the twist of a doorknob fires it off I am sure a scurrying mouse will. Decent light for the price, tho.
Being in a steel clad building with no wireless they work great for me. The sensitivity is adjustable and seems quite repeatable. Seems like they should have a warning if they interfere with 5g. You can turn the sensor off and use a switch if you have problems with building movement or vermin. I really like mine and they work reliably.
Any idea of how many LEDS are on each light? These are daisy chainable correct? I didn't see the details of either of these in the info on Costco's site. This looks like the most updated version, except yours may be a bit more rugged. How much was yours? Link to current ones: www.costco.com/Feit-4-ft.-Linkable-LED-Utility-Motion-Sensor-Shop-Lights%2C-2-pack-.product.100415188.html
Just 2 strips of leads. Not linkable and they were weatherproof. The new ones look different. These still work great and they come on full brightness in the cold. Thanks for watching.
I haven't had any problems with the motion sensor and I have it set on the longest distance setting so it will work from about 25 feet away and outside movement has no effect . You can reduce that by quite a bit also with the switches. If you have a weak floor above that vibrates, i could see false triggers, but I have 2 of them working perfectly so far. I wonder if the people with complaints have the switches set properly because I have none of the issues you mention so far. The 5g in my house has very short range and does not make it to my shop.
