Absolute banger, what a great track to wake up to! That Chromaphon patch is amazing, it reminds me of Stacatto Heaven. Alesis' QuadraSynth line deserves more love. I got an S4+ which I love, especially used the Eurodance card. I think the qsr has some of those presets built in which is nice. The pcmcia stuff for the Alesis' is a headache and a half, finding compatible cards, finding the ROMs online, the memory card explorer, finding a laptop old enough to have pcmcia slots that provide enough power.. if only somebody made their own compatible pcmcia and flasher and sold it like the waveblade heh
Have you ever succesfully created a PCMCIA card for your S4+? I have not really looked into it but heard that it is possible, though difficult as you've mentioned!! I don't have many of the QuadraCards at the moment, but I know at least one that I have (which was thrown in for free when I bought my QSR) seems to be a "bootleg" meaning one of the official card ROMs flashed to a consumer PCMCIA card. I did look up the model number on the card and they seemed to be going for quite a high price nowadays!! 😅 Something like the Waveblade would be very cool!!

In fact me and my bestie who has a QSR bought pcmcia flash cards that didn't work for us, but worked when we swapped..I think they're sensitive with the AMD and Intel specs, it was all a bit confusing. I managed to make my own custom one with SoundBridge but it's only waves no presets. You gotta make presets on the synth itself, such a faff to burn. I bet you'll be able to reflash that bootleg one, you'll just need an ollld xp laptop of the sorts and the memory card software. ^^
Very clean sound, fun to hear how Alesis romplers sound like. I assume it is a multitimbral recording, but all parts simultaneously recorded via one stereo out?
I actually tend to record these in sections one track at a time and don't often have midi tracks playing from the hardware at once. That's why you may notice sometimes that my videos will show more tracks than what would be supported on the hardware to run at the same time. Not always the most ideal to do it this way but I got used to it and it has it's benefits sometimes too. haha
@@SethNova Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes committing early on to audio can lead to better results fast, if you have a flow and don't come to a dead-end and need to rethink too much along the way. With more than one synth I tend to record everything live from midi if I can, cause it allows for some performance in the recording. Twisting cutoff etc on two synths simultaneously is fun.
