Love how if he even still "hates" to play this song live, he now sings like 100% accurate to the studio version. His vocal control and highs are now outstanding. Thanks for sharing this live with such awesome audio and video quality.
I looked over at my wife as we were watching him play this live and she had tears coming down her face this song hits so hard and she's never seen them before it was her first time
damn dude, im actuallly surprised he would perform this considering the amount of mental shit he was going through when he made this song and the long mental journey hes gone through. but honestly thats why we love chris. hes overcome a lot and has made some truly amazing music with the band. MIW reigns for sure
This particular performance of City Lights is so tremendously powerful and it was profoundly moving. The sheer creativity with which they integrated the orchestral elements into this particular performance was extremely mesmerizing. I am completely enamored and inspired by Chris' sheer emotional and spiritual resiliency and by his sheer dedication to his craft. It must have been exceedingly difficult for him to perform this song as he had written it in such a devastating moment of his life, but this song truly helped me overcome many of the challenges that I had faced in my personal life as well and for this very reason I truly hope that I may one day thank Chris and the rest of the band personally for the immensely positive impact that they have had in my life. Their artistry is so beautiful and I would love to hear a fully re-released version of this magnificent song in this very same key and also with the very same orchestral elements that elevated this performance alá Masterpiece but the Motion Picture Version.
That's exactly how I was at Blue Ridge Rock Festival in 2021. I was correct with every song. But I was in the lawn and I guessed this song and I was right. I'm still grateful that he got through that song the way he did. On key and hit every note on point.
