Pin down isn’t a bad thing you just have to take things into account. Did your pro-shop guy have your PAP, Tilt and Axis Rotation before he drilled your pin down ball? Also did you explain to him how you wanted your pin down to react? All of that, and the ball surface plays a major part in the ball performance. I’m not a P2 guy which people think is odd, but I just match with other balls better.

@@badbadbowling101 my PAP has changed a lot since I got that P2 four years ago. But yesterday I was with a pro shop guy who I go see usually (not the original dude who drilled my phaze) and was mentioning this to him as well as wanting to go Pin up exactly the same as my IQ tour. He did mention ball surface a lot and we hit it with a 500. But long story short, he said he wouldn't change a thing about my P2, but if I really wanted to change it he'd do it and was happy to take my money haha, but he said the way it is now is perfect to have in the bag when/if needed (Which I've never in my life felt the need for it throughout 4 years of different tournaments haha). I kept it as is, since my dark code cracked I'm likely to get a different ball down the road anyways.

Well to be honest I think you might need to look at the middle, and the end of your bag. For me to give you a true answer I would need to see you roll the ball. Any other way would just be best guess.

Ok so the reason I took it to 2000 was that very reason. In my center it’s a lot of oil in the middle of the lane with low levels outside. So having it at 3000 the ball was going to long. Putting it to 2000 the ball reads earlier making it more controllable. So it shapes is wonderful at 2000 grit still stores energy, and also slows down so it’s more controllable.

@@badbadbowling101 Thank you for quick reply, I’m newer to bowling and didn’t want to touch the surface with polish. I just ordered some bowling ball 2000 and 1000 grit and will give it a try. Playing sport shot lanes medium to heavy oil.

@@JustJigit hey I’m always here to help and will always reply. Sometimes not as fast but I always will. Changing the surface of a ball is not a bad thing, but actually a good thing. If the ball isn’t reading then going down to 2000, or 1000 can be a really good thing. Sometimes you have to go down even farther 800, 500 for a longer pattern I have went down as far as 350. Now I wouldn’t put polish on a solid, but polish isn’t a bad thing if you’re looking for length however it will add a little sharper hook to your backend.

Well that is one way of looking at things another is that both sre considered benchmark balls and can have similar spots in your bag. Also the asymmetry in the Venom is very minor so they actually compare very well and could also be played off of eachother.
