@@hatch450sx3bring ‘em, bring the best there is. These r32s will whoop any car that isn’t a tube chassis and is still a full weight steer car with air con and a sound system. Yes, when it come to the fastest 2j vs the fastest rb with no rules, like a promod style build, 2j has the record. But for what we call “street” cars, these r32s are maybe the fastest on the planet. America has the biggest drag racing scene in the world, is Aussies watch and admire it. We know what you have got and what you are capable of. But I don’t think a lot of Americans realise what these r32s are and what they’re capable of.

Even 30 years ago back in the 90s the Japanese declined our offer to take our group a skylines there to race. We wanted to take ours there to prove we were building them better and had the bugger badder godzillas and they refused. The theory is that they knew we were building them better and that’s why they declined it and refused to let us race them.

Which is better for drag racing sedan or coupe?

@@deevizm8035 how is it heavier? same wheelbase, the extra 2 doors are just splitting the longer coupe doors.. i guess you could say the glass? either way, the difference would be marginal. i feel the most important structural difference is where the b-pillar falls, which is more center on the sedan..

@@kitvexed8229 more metal. Extra doors (yes the doors are smaller but there’s an extra 2 doors), extra pillar. Most likely a different (worse) weight distribution. It’s hard to find online, but I just searched it and a rwd gts (no turbo) sedan weighs 1340. A rwd gts-t (turbo) coupe weighs 1260. So even with the added weight of the turbo and its supporting accessories, the coupe weighs 80kgs less than the sedan. That info could be wrong, I didn’t weigh them myself. I am just repeating what I can find online.

@@deevizm8035 when looking at GTR registry, there's also an absolute fraction of sedans vs coupes, so seeing a sedan of the R32 generation is quite a rarity.. the weight difference isn't enough to overshadow the exclusivity for a proper built/swapped sedan IMHO.

@@miralemnermina142 driven many different cars over the years with the rb and 4wd you can launch on very high rpm and that hides the engines lack of torque very easy to stall a gtr if you try soft launch them yet something like a barra rwd can launch with much lower rpm and the torque will pull but obviuosly no 4wd can be a fine line to blow tyres just to clarify i like rbs i like anything based on its merits im not one eyed i used to be but grew out of it probably around 18 years old ... lets see how many rwd skylines can run et's like barras or rotaries etc its not comparing apples with apples my point is without 4wd they are half the car its not 2j against rb is it ? 2jz are rwd gtr 4wd if rb's are as good as he claims why cant they run rwd to rwd ? then see what happens being one eyed you lose sight of truth and facts

a semi automatic/ manual valve body on an automatic transmission does not make it manual.

@@lennixsingh626 but the DCT now has everything he says to be a manual. Has a clutch peddle you can operate, has paddle shift(just like sequential). Has input and output shafts.

​@@ryanlowe3588 DCT's do not have a third peddle and are all primary built upon being completely auto. A semi automatic/valve body is what makes some DCT's able to shift manually with paddles at given will, however even if you sit on limiter or try to downshift too early it won't work.

Definitely not brainwashing ourselves. If you have a significant passion for an engine platform, people are going to pay big money. JDM drag racing would be boring without RBs, Rotaries, K series, EJs etc and everything was just 2jz. Which even they require more modifications than what people commonly assume to make 1000hp like main caps. No doubt the RB may never be the top in import world records but that passion is just something people have to have to at least attempt to try it.

A promod that drives on the street is not a street car. Even the US's biggest street car event (TX2K) doesn't allow promods unless the owners are VIP or own a shop that builds legitmate streetcars like t1.

Herman himself exposed the superiority of the 2JZ block in that one video vs the RB and Barra. Factor in the design flaw of the upper oil issues in the head of the RB and the oil pump gear, and it’s easy to see why the RB is second to the 2JZ. Making 1000hp is one thing, running it for extended period of time is a whole different ballgame. Cheers mate!

The 2j MIGHT be a better engine but the gtr is a way better car

Why would someone put a vr in a skyline? nothing would work and it would reqauire lots of custom parts to be make it work, especially the 4wd
