The Corabi album was definitely the heaviest in Motley Crue's catalog, thanks in no small part t John's gritty voice and whatever Mick did to get that ultra-heavy guitar tone. Too bad that collaboration never went beyond that one album.
This was their best album musically by far. Mick Mars even said so himself. If they had just renamed the band because it wasn't motley anymore but it was a great band
I don't understand how anyone can say that this isn't better than anything done with Vince Neil. John can actually sing! Best music and lyrics of any Motley album!
I agree with you, man. I prefer Corabi than Vince. Corabi was a true artist, while Vince was more like a showman. It's a pity that this album was so underrated when it came out. People didn't know what they had. Well, in spite of this, I loved the 1994 record from the very beginning (unlike many other "fans"). I purchased it the very day it came out. In Mexico (my country) was available the same day than in your country. When I bought it, I came back home and I just played it over and over. Since then, it became my favorte album, from all the rock n roll bands, and no record has been better than this one for me.
This is also my favorite Crue line-up and my favorite album, from all the rock n roll bands. With Vince they were good. When Corabi came, they became the best band in the world. It's a pity they didn't go on with Corabi.
Saw them on this tour along with about 150 others for $7. I'd seen the band before and I was absolutely stunned by how much better they were with Corabi. He added more than just a guitar and vocal, be brought a cohesiveness to the band. Oh well.
Vince is the voice of the band, when they made it. Without him, no Motley. Too fast, Shout, Theatre, Girls and Dr. Feelgood. "Classic" albums with a unique leadsinger voice. The way Neil sings now is still one of a kind, and that doesn't seem to be in the most flattering way. Corabi is no doubt a better musician. Would a second Mötley Cörabi album have been a success? Who knows... The Mötley Crüe album was musically superior to the predecessors. The hits and crowd chants were on the Vince albums. The live clips on RU-vid indicates, that now is a good time to put it to a stop. To end with dignity. No more milk in the tits😊
Some of it is Dropping Like Flyes and other Motley Crue CD songs. It was a great time for the Crue those Corabi years, I saw them in Mexico. Amazing concert, heavy as hell. LONG LIVE THE CRUE!!!!!!!
It bums me out to see how pure and positive everyone seemed in this and then to read in The Dirt about how shitty it eventually got. Even Mick is super energetic in these. Obviously i'll always love the classic 80's albums, but this is one of my favorite of the band, second only too Dr. Feelgood era (which i believe was their best era, both in songwriting and production and live performance.) Forever a Crue fan.
Fuck... Thanks a lot for posting this, it's so fuckin' cool! N.B. Just notice how fuckin' tight Crue sounded during this period. Sound is awesome. N.N.B. Tommy "T-Bone" Lee Fuckin' Rocks! N.N.N.B. John+Mick guitar duet just rules! N.N.N.N.B. Nikki Sixx, man... He Kicks Ass! N.N.N.F.C.K.B. Long Live the Crue!!
i dont remember Duallies being popular in mid 90s LA. i would have thought they were rehearsing down here in TX if I only saw their trucks. Their real life is everyone else's cliché. So badass.
ill be honest if john corabi had stayed with moley crue i would have became a huge motley fan this is the best motley album they ever recorded corabi was a waaay better frontman than vince ever was not that i dont like the vince albums i do but i wouldve loved to see this lineup continue on its just sad we only got one album out of them cause this lineup was amazing
I agree especially since what we got after Vince came back wasn't any good, Saints of Las Angels was the only good album after Vince came back and it took so long to get that one.
I have nothing aganist Vince, but in my opinion with Corabi singing and playing guitar pretty cool, motley was at their best...that was their best album by far
Hahaha well guys the truth is Vince is back! I didn't care if this album Motley's great album, if John's voice is better than Vince. Whats matter now is Vince is back. If Nikki Tommy & Mick wants John still in band they should have an argue with management. The fact is they agreed to let John go...
Actually if you read "the Dirt", Mick repeatedly says that this was the worst period of his life. He's just messing around in this video because he's always like that, people just don't realize that he's always this way.
@w0bbl3r Do you have a copy of that song/version on cd? I have been desperately looking for that for years now... Please let me know! Thanks for the info!!!
So much for Nikki's shit about Corabi not having any input on Swine (Helen Kellar can hear him AL OVER the vocal lines), cuz after watching all 4 clips- there's riffs here that ended up on Swine. For sure.
Whoever says this is grunge is an idiot. This is the heaviest crue album . Although I love the Crue with Vince this album musically is one of their best. It would have went over better if it was not called motley crue. John bought new element to the band. I have to say i love Vince Neil Exposed also which was released around the same time
I know Corabi was a better singer and all, but come on guys! To me, it just wouldn't feel like crue without Vince! There was just something about him that pieced it all together.
There were a lot of songs taken out from the Mötley Crüe album. Nikki Sixx was even planning to issue this record as a double album (kinda Use your Illusion I and II), or issue a different album just after the 1994 album with the name "Leftovers". It's a pity the band didn't issue the double album, because they had lots of songs for the Mötley Crüe record, plus the ones recorded in Quaternary. If you see the booklet in the 1994 CD, you'll find a pic where there's a list of songs. Most of them were recorded, but there are many that were just taken out and forgotten.
You said that right . No disrespect to Vince but Musically its their best album. It would have been more successful if it wasn't called Motley so true. Check out the Sixx am cd also
