To anyone wondering, the massage method actually worked for me! (June 2024). To be honest I was about to give up. Midway through the video I was like, what kind of fix methods are these? But to my surprise it did and that's why I wanted to share. I have this gesture active where if I shake the phone it would open the camera or turn on the flashlight so I was scared that if I turned off the phone, I wouldn't be able to tell if the display was even on or off. But I risked it. I pressed the power button for 5 secs until I saw the white LED at the top of the screen but no display. That's when I tried the massage and suddenly I saw the Motorola logo and I was relieved :) Thanks

I heard the words "no problem" far too many times for a guy who still has the same problem that brought me here. I won't give you a thumbs down though, unless your the one who bricked my phone. This is why I hate phones with permanent batteries. Removing the battery for a minute or so usually fixes this sort of problem. Thank you disposable America. I've had the damned thing for less than a year. Probably less than 6 months, even.

Thank you very much, the freezing method worked for my rescuing Motorola MOTO G7 Optimo Maxx. I did this after doing the recommended failed factory reset by Motorola. Then I was told by Motorola it was time to replace my phone.

Thank you sharing these saving tips! I am able to solve my phone's initial black screen problem using the tap method. Phone home screen finally shows again after 1 week of black screen. It went back to black screen again, after showing a long blue line on right edge, then not long later, another long line but it's on the left edge this time and it's red in color. Using the combination of tapping, massaging, and slamming, I woke up the old phone with black screen three times.

Thank you so much, holding the power button for 60 seconds and bam, the moto symbol pops on!!! This phone has been in a black screen for atless 4 hours.Notifications were going off and everything that's why I knew the dang thing was on! The third option worked. Slapping the phone and holding the power button until the screen came back on! I didn't think the phone was charging but it was.... must have been a lose part inside. Thank you so very much for this video!!! IT WORKED!!

You are a life saver!!! Here I thought the phone was garbage, only 4 months old and broken really?! So searched for issues found this lovely fix and now my phone powered on again. After a long day at work, the phone went to 23% and just went kaput, tried charging it and nothing. Took it home thinking it might need a longer charge, still nothing. This thing has so many alarms and such set for my day I can't get by without it. So thanks to this I got it to power on and will hopefully be using for a long time. For me it was the plugging it in and holding the power button down until the logo appeared, happy days!!! Also tried beating the phone (smacking front and back), freeze (but not for as long) but the power and hold was the help. You saved my day!

Its still a software issue with the phone. Notice there isnt anything anywhere about what causes this to happen. Its because motorola fucked something up and keeping it quiet. These methods wont work the next time your phones do it again.mine wont even power on or charge after doing these methods the first when it worked. Its not a battery or screen issue cause mine are brand new and i tested them.

Thank you so much. I performed all of the methods and the massage method worked best. When it popped on my screen was pink and fuzzy. I waited 2 minutes and pressed the power button it went off and wouldn't come back on. I massaged again for 10 seconds and then pressed the volume down button 1st and 32 seconds later the power button. A reboot screen popped on I hit the power button to start and now my phone works fine. I was worried it would factory reset but it didn't. Thanks you so much for all of your help!

Wow, the tapping did it! Amazing, but I should have remembered whacking the old tv's from decades ago, it actually worked apparently! lol! Worked fine last night, then after charging all night, black screen. Power button did nothing. Interestingly, the phone apparently stopped charging in the middle of it, its showing 73% only when it should show 100%. What would cause this to happen, something loose inside the phone? Do I need to worry about this happening again? Sounds like a defect to me, but at least I know how to fix it now! 😊 Unbelievable! Thank you so much for this, saved my life, I have some very critical calls coming in in the next few days so was rather frantic. Thanks again, this was a lifesaver!

Happened to me a few times and the power button has worked. However, the last twice its happened when Ive been on my bike following and recording a tour. Ive avoided using the power method for fear of losing the recording. So next time Ill try the various tapping and messaging methods.

LOL at first I thought this was one of these stupid scam videos, because my Motorola G60 suddenly went black, and vibrated, holding power button didn't work at all... it was like that for 30 minutes. I was even looking for new phones online because this one is kinda smashed a little bit. Then I just watched this video while booting up my SLOW AF old phone, and tried tapping my G60 like the guy did, and massaging it lmao and it actually turned back on WHAT! One of those moments when you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Thank you sir! Didn't want to buy a new phone because this one is only like 1.5 year old and I am so used to it and it still works just fine for my needs. Now hopefully this doesn't happen again, and if it will I at least know what to do :)

My phone is saved! Thank you so very much. I used ALL the methods you suggested on my brand-new phone that I had dropped. . I put it in the freezer for only 1 minute, then decided that I should try recharging it because it had not been charged in about a day. Once I plugged it in though, the white light started blinking; when it had not done this before. I let it recharge for a few minutes. Then it restarted. Smacking worked for me. Sort of. Still if I press the screen in the upper part of the screen the phone restarts, when I put it down little faster it went black again and it doesn't recognize the SIM card in. So, I suspect it is some sort of lose contacts in that area. I'll take it to the shop, have them open it and double check all contacts.

Hey thanks for all your suggestions, but my issue with my Motorola G Power 2022 seems unique. Screen broke. Had an aftermarket screen put in, but display is very dim - so dim that I can't see it in bright light. I accidentally touched the brightness control and it slid down a bit, screen became totally black. Knowing it was on, I kept fooling around with it sliding my my fingers across until I was able to slide it back to a brighter image. I can't get to show in FULL brightness even though the slider is all the way to max. Are there drivers that can be installed to fix this?

I'm not entirely sure if my problem is related to this , but I suspect so... I followed the suggested tips here, rebooting over and again etc... I was briefly able to see the screen at times, but it repeatedly disappeared before I could access settings. I happened to be in a dark room with a light overhead, and with adjusting, moving the screen in relation to the light, saw that the screen and functionality was there, but completely unviewable in natural / bright light. Anyway, settings, display, ADAPTIVE BRIGHTNESS, - turn this off. Et Viola. Turns out it was not in anyway a fault of the phone, just this particular setting.

My screen wasn't working after replacing the battery on my moto g power (2021). After letting it charge for abount an hour, trying the tap massage and multiple restarts the screen suddenly started working again. Idk if there was a slight disconnect from me replacing the battery or if it just needed time to charge up a bit. Either way it did come back to life after fiddeling with it for about 10 minutes. So don't give up just yet and as the creator of the video says, try everything on here twice or three times, let it charge for an hour and try again. Maybe try the freeze method after that and try again. Just don't give up hope yet!

Thank you! I am not sure for how long this will work, keeping my fingers crossed. My issue was slightly different, the home screen froze and nothing would work, I couldn't even shut if off. I then used paperclip and (reboot?) it but then it was frozen on the logo screen. I finally did the tap method and that worked without any other glitches... so I thank you once again!

This isn't true, this guy is a scammer or a troll. No amount of 'slapping' or 'massaging' is going to reseat a ribbon cable. Your touch screen is actually a screen that you view, and a separate digitizer that reads your inputs. Even though the screen is 'off', the digitizer reads the inputs as if the screen is on and extrapolates it to the virtualized 'desktop' of the device. He insists you just need to make sure you tap all over your screen a lot. The digitizer is reading all this, and has no idea the screen is blank. You are literally opening and closing and authenticating, etc apps and prompts, etc.. "Just keep tapping everywhere and make sure you get every area as much as possible." How would that mechanically work? The phone is actually functioning, but the screen has been disabled due to some malware.

Nice that the reboot works but it takes too much time. I miss a call because screen is black. I Miss a second call while it reboots. A third call while responding to the 1st one I missed and a fourth when the screen turns black again.

Same here with white flash of light while plugged in, trying the freezer right now, though really don’t want to, seems iffy! Did you find a solution? My daughters only vibrates when push the on / open button and that’s it! No water damage no dropping it nothing, just seemed to happen, working one minute and just her screen off next time she picked it up within 10 minutes or less black screen 😢 while riding in the car

When I turn my Motorola phone on I do not get the black screen I would like to get the black screen with a clock on it my husband's does that and my daughters but when I turn mine on or when I pick Matt up it doesn't do anything it just has a black screen and though I have to click the side of it to get the lock screen to come up I would like to the black screen with a clock on it to come up when I pick it up how can I do this
