I was seriously considering returning this phone because some display options that are usually found in Display aren't there. Thank you for including how to change the home screen layout. Now I know to check the Motorola app for some display options. I also learned some cool gestures from this video. I wasted time watching other videos that failed to deliver info I needed. This was the best presentation I've seen.
I just purchased this phone off Amazon unlocked. I specifically got this version because I read that they got worse as years went on camera wise. So far I love it. Coming from a galaxy s9+ this isn't much of a downgrade and nowhere near the pricetag of Samsung.
I wasn't going to get this first because of the color but it actually looks great in person . Don't think I've seen another phone with the same color and the battery life on it is great.
Sucks though that you have to take the phone to a repair shop to change the battery as it's non removable. Now if you are the type of person that can swap pc parts/build a pc then you could probably do it yourself.
@@DivergentDroid Yes true, but the days of removable batteries are almost obsolete. Just have to roll the dice and see if you get one that last 2-3 years..
@@danjones3402 Don't buy into that cooperate idea that removable batteries are a thing of the past. They are just trying to push it so they can make tons more money selling us phones we don't need to buy yet because only the battery died. If we all take a stand and stop buying such devices and demand our removable batteries, the corrupt industry will cave and give us what we want or they will go broke.
Yeah, I got it just because it was one of the better options available to me at the time. I didn't care a damn thing about the stylus. But having used it a little while, I'm growing really fond of that little thing. It really gives me an almost effortless precision upgrade, which makes a bigger difference than I would have anticipated in my enjoyment of using the phone. And you're right about the battery life. This turns out to be a great little phone that I'm really glad I got.

Hello greetings, I changed from ios to android and this phone does not have a gallery, or at least I cannot find it, there is only the google photos function to see the photos?
Mine has a gallery, it doesnt say gallery like on my samsung, it's an icon that looks kind of like a 4 bladed propeller with each blade being a different color ( red, yellow, blue, & green )
@@toddbuh that's the Google photos app. I noticed the same with my phone. Just got it yesterday and most of the normal preset apps for Android aren't there, only the Google versions of the same apps.
I aquired a new Samsung the first of the year and now it needs a new screen. I got frustrated with it and it took flight into a desk separating itself from the case. It only flew about 4 feet. I'd used Samsung in the past and it has better features than the new one. I ordered this phone. I'm currently using my 2020 model so this should be very easy to setup...
To really use split screen you need to enable developer options and click the force all apps to split screen because not all apps work if that switch is not on
You know to split screen, if you have the feature on, you can just swipe your finger from one side of the screen to the other and it sets it up automatically
Hello, where can I find a stylus drawing tips - when I fist started using it - it came up with a little video showing how the shapes I draw are corrected, like circle or triangle to become perfect shape, but now I could not repeat is and cannot invoke this video again! Help!
How do I turn off where I pull down top to get to menu but it pulls down a clock and basically the lock screen and I have to pull down again to get to the menu?
Hi this was very helpful. I have 2 questions. 1-I just bought my phone. the time is in the upper right corner. How do I get it into the middle like yours is. I have tried several things and haven't figured it out. 2- where does the screen shot go when you save it? into photos?
The widget for the time can be put wherever you can fit. Just hold down with finger and move it. It can also be resized. Screenshots are put into a folder called "Screenshots" in the DCIM folder. If you use a Micro SD Card as I do you can tell it to save to the card. Don't ne afraid to deep dive into the Settings and Permissions and see what's what.👍🏼

Thank you so much showing me how to switch the gesture option. That was my only gripe switching from my Samsung. I honestly was going to give phone to my daughter and go back to my Samsung. I absolutely LOVE this new Moto phone because it's way faster and works better on my schools crappy wifi. Some phones don't connect good too it and us teachers have griped for years. So again, thank you so much for showing me that and the split screen. Because I do watch Hulu and Amazon prime on small screen while playing my pixel art app. This helps me keep the RU-vid music playing now.
😮 of course some of these features are standard across all of the cell phones including blackvue, Samsung s20 and Nokia. I'm actually surprised there are quite a few that you went over that I was not aware of. Great tips thank you so much

I have the 2021 version of this phone and I like it for the most part, but there is something important that people need to know before getting it. The volume for the ringer and the volume for text notifications are locked together! If you raise the volume so you know someone is texting you, it also raises the ringer volume and will make you jump out of your skin. So I lowered the ringer volume and now I can hardly hear my text notification. 😥
This video was very helpful. I got a question about the stylus function. Is there any way to turn on full animation when you use the stylus. In other words on my Note 10 when you draw on a FB story it actually shows the drawing process and not just the finished product. Is this a limitation with MOTO Stylus or is it a feature that needs to be turned on?

My old cell had a neat future now this one doesn't . In my text I was able to lock a certain message and I could delete everything else. I don't see how this cell does that. Say a certain date someone sends me. I could go to. ... and a box would drop down..I could two on lock and it would lock just that message and I could delete all the rest of that person's text to me. Is there something like that?
I recently got this phone and did the assistant setup where you answer the four questions so that the phone remembers your voice. Mine wasn't Hey Google but Hey Siri and a listening icon would come up at the bottom right of the screen. During all of the other app installations and permissions it doesn't work anymore. Has anyone else experienced this?
@@nathaliecarrillo2782 The phone itself is Great aside from them pushing Google apps galore in your face. (They like to steal a lot of data) 5G is Way over rated because indoors you don't get a great signal due to the brick walls. It's best to keep the phone set to use the best signal it finds out of 3G 4G and 5G. You can set it to 5G only to test the speeds. Outside I have gotten Very Fast 292 mbps download speed but terrible upload speed of around 2.90 mbps. Live streaming may not be consistent. I have gotten upload speeds of 7.80 (which is good for upload) but it's hit and miss. However if you Need to download large files and you are outside you can get super fast speeds to do it. With 128 gb of storage space, I use it to download PC games and movies that I then transfer to my pc. Otherwise just keep it on the setting to use all the speeds and your experience may be smoother depending on what you need. Watching videos and general surfing the web should not be a problem. Battery is very good and can easily last 2 days. I find the stylus is o.k. for writing notes if you make the line thinner. I don't draw. The speaker is Mono so no stereo unless you use headphones or Bluetooth stereo speakers. The mono speaker volume is decently loud for a phone which is great. The video display is nice except in bright sunlight, it gets kinda hard to see. An anti glare screen protector may help but I don't have one yet. The CPU is plenty fast for me. You can run two apps on screen side by side which is neat. The 48 MP camera is decent in normal lighting I haven't tried the others. For the price, I could not beat this phone. They dropped the price because they are coming out with the 2022 models. Bought it through my local Boost Mobil and joined my wife's account creating a family plan and that took 10 bucks off the 60 dollars a month each of us pay for. That was totally worth it for both of us.. saves us 240 bucks a year. They do have cheaper plans if you don't need unlimited data and a large amount of data for a hotspot. I couldn't be happier. Get you a good shock resistant case and some screen protectors, you'll be fine. Btw, if you are a mother, Happy Mothers Day.

my question is this on my old Android device it had built into the operating system a gallery to look at photos and videos but on this phone there's only Google photos so how can I see locally taking pictures and videos?

I have this phone but on the home row I mean on the home screen at the bottom I can't keep four things to stay there they keep appearing as different apps every time I use one do you know how to adjust that so I can just have the phone icon the Chrome icon, text icon and the camera icon without them changing the whole time? Thank you very much! Every time I use an app it then puts itself at the bottom of the home screen and races my original apps location and I'm trying to change that.

Is there a short cut to brighten your screen if you accidently put it on low. I did that today and went to panick mode because I couldn't see my screen to brighten it up lol
You've probably figured this out by now, but for anyone who hasn't- if you pull the top of the screen down TWICE, at the top of the screen there will be the slider for making the screen brighter/dimmer.
I saw your phone display was set to saturated. Is it possible on your phone to change the display color to, " Boosted" as an option? I bought 2 of these. 1 is set to Boosted by default out of the box, but only has the saturated and natural option. The second phone came set as saturated out of the box and does not allow me to set the the display to Boosted.
Just swipe left, right to move home screens. Press and hold clear spot on home screen and you'll see how to add screens and widgets. If an app has a widget it will be there. Every Android I've had does it the same way.
Thank you for great tips. I got this phone in Feb for free to up grade to 5g from my cellphone provider. My question is how can I delete parts of the text messages without deleting the entire text message? With my old phone I was able to do this.

If anyone wants and needs cheaper 4k shooting. Skip all this, get the 2021 G stylus, it has to be the 2021 model. Not only is the camera superior but you can shoot in 4k 30 fps where as none of these newer models can shoot in 4k. Its also cheaper and the CPU and graphics are nearly identical and gaming sees zero difference.
Yes, go to your settings, just search full screen at the top search bar, and one of the options (only option on my phone) will say full screen and controls whether or not apps can display around the camera cutout
split screen method is quite long .. realme 7 has a better way.. just swipe upwards with three fingers nd it is already in half,just have to select the next app you want. any similar way available in this phone?
Moto G5 Plus, you just need to hold the square button to open 2 apps at the same time, pretty good features, but the screen is kinda small (5.2/5.4) If I'm not mistaken.
All you have to do fpr split screen is when your in an app swipe ypur finger across the screen from left to right that app goes to half screen then pick the second app to foll the other half this guy mist not know that
