I've never restored the T3, just keep it going and it repays me with smiles all the time. Riding is better than restoring, I find if you restore something to as new condition then it never gets used.

Putting a 550lb T3 on the side stand with the engine running on a gravel drive is just asking for trouble. Never do it loaded up! Be a man and put it on the centre stand, it's not hard, more a knack.
If you look closely My T3 has a Brown's sidestand which is very capable of holding it up fully loaded on the gravel, I wouldn't trust the original stand to hold it anywhere, I agree the centre stand is good and I have no issues using it, I have had Guzzi's for well over 40 years so I think I have the knack.
@@mvd944l I can't look closely as you don't show it. I'm glad you can get decent replacements now. My T3 sidestand bent when I fitted Krauser panniers, you had to use the side stand to take one pannier off to get it on the centre stand. I was walking away and looked back to see it slowly going over and only just caught it in time. My Le Mans sidestand fell off when I was going along, I felt something hit my foot and thought it was a stone, then got to my destination and no sidestand. I don't know why Guzzi never fixed this flaw, you can't always find somewhere flat to park.
@@hintoninstruments2369 My wife and I have 3 bikes with the "Browns" sidestand, 2 x Mk3 Le Mans and the T3, they are expensive at £300 but cheaper than dropping the bike. My Mk1 Le Mand I don't have the heart to put one on, it is a work of art and so I'm just a bit careful "IF" I park it on the sidestand. Of course the Cali has a great sidestand bit they don't look good in my opinion on a T3
