I would have thought that the Freight Forwarders would have at least advised what they did, possibly taken photos for you so that you could then assemble it in Aus. It's all time which is ticking away for your trip. as you say, in hindsight, Adelaide would have probably been the best port of call so to speak.
From what I could find it was only Queensland that cared about insurance and the general advice was to ship anywhere that isn’t Queensland and ride into it. As for the insurance I did phone a company and they wanted me to register the bike in the country and faff about getting a pink slip and various other hurdles, some requiring an address. The system isn’t set up for foreign vehicles so I don’t know if it’s possible to get any.
@@DTWTheWanderingMuzungu hey, thanks for reply, looks like I can buy a ctp certificate for third party for 6 months in QLD it’s available for registered vehicles out of state. Hasn’t been easy, looking promising now. Thanks for your help and great video 👍
@@DTWTheWanderingMuzungu yeah you may be right, I phone Suncorp and spoke with ‘em explaining carnet and it sounded achievable from what they said, then phoned dropped out. Planning to call them again tomorrow
