I went to Red Bud today and I had a lot pass. I saw Roger. Wow, I shook his hand and had my picture taken with him. Thank you Roger, you have added so much to our enjoyment to a sport we love. We love you.

I grew up in Michigan City, Indiana. So we fortunate enough to see Roger at Red Bud once a year. All the kids in the neighborhood had dirt bikes. Roder was one of our heros.I still go to Red Bud once a year, to watch the pros.

One of the highlights of my teens was seeing Roger race at the Puyallup MX track in Washington State about 1975. He won the first moto with Marty Smith of Honda taking second. In the second moto Marty led wire to wire. Elsinore. Enough said. ;)

I got to see him race at Sears Point. 1976 I think it was. Track was on the hillside, and there was a steep downhill.

Stephan Everts was clearly the king of European MXGP's 125, 250, 500 ( or open as it was called). 10 world titles 5 more than his father Harry. Still works in development for KTM's like of off road bikes. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Me, I was a huge Swede fan. They never sat down. A trick that has served me well over 50 years of off road fun.
