Trauma can create a heavy weight that we can carry for too many years. Trey Canard knows this because he carried a weight for far too long. In this inspirational and enlightening talk you will pick up a key to recognizing and taking the first steps for overcoming any trauma in your life.
treycanard.com @treycanard #tedxstgeorge #tedxtalk Trey Canard is an accomplished professional supercross and motocross racer. Having turned pro in 2007, Canard quickly established himself as one of the fastest racers in the country. During his rookie season, he clinched the 2008 250SX East Championship. In 2010, Canard secured his career first AMA 250 Motocross title & helped Team USA claim victory in the Motocross of Nations - the Olympics of Motocross. He continued to find success throughout his 450 career, scoring many podiums and victories, however his true potential was marred by injury.
Since retiring in 2017, Canard has continued to play an active role in the motorcycle industry. He is a test rider for American Honda and a coaching representative for the U.S. Motorcycle Coaching Association (USMCA). The USMCA is focuses on bringing new riders to the sport of motorcycling by certifying professional coaches to provide a safe first-ride experience for beginners. www.racingstan... I’m 53yrs old. 3yrs ago I was rear ended by the tractor trailer. I haven’t been on a dirt bike in all that dew to mi injury’s. I watched Mr Canard come back from strong from a lot of injuries. I bought a Canard tee shirt at a Ford Field supercross some years back. I still wear it today. It helps me with dealing with my injuries. I will be back on a dirt bike. I have God, family, and Trey Canard for the hope and inspiration. Thank you Mr Canard #41. God bless

Wow I had no idea about that incident with his father. I'm somewhat disabled from a TBI/repeat head injury from a mtb & motocross crash and the trauma is the hardest part of all of it. The physical pain is one thing, but never feeling safe, always tense, always working on calming the system, is a huge battle in itself. Trauma is a real injury and glad this sheds some light on it. Thanks Trey!

Today's Father's day. I'm sure as Trey's dad worked on that track he was filled with hopes and dreams for his son's future. He would never want an accident to be a burden. Also sure he'd be proud of Trey with or without championship wins. Guilt is a demon we feed with the sacrifice of our happiness. It fixes nothing. Put down your burdens and enjoy.

@Maczust63
@Maczust63 2 года назад
Its not just losing a father, its losing your best friend, hero, role model and your ride or die. Motocross requires a loving family to make it happen. motocross is also an addiction, while being therapy at the same time. It makes losing the person who started it all for you that much harder. Honestly people who have lost their moto parents have lost more then just regular parents, because of the lessons learned, the style of parenting and freedom they gave us. motocross is a different breed, so to all those who lost their first riding coach, love you and stay strong! God speed!

Didnt know your dad died on this way,we are simmilar,i am enduro and motocross racer too and i also fell like is my fault my dad died,because he was very sick and he needed to be helped to turn on bed....long story short,i fell asleep and when i wake up my dad was dead laying next to me,i didnt hear him calling me and he died.... Never forgive myself for this,stoped racing,fall in drugs and was on path of selfdestruction. Im now married for 7 years and Im still battling with stuff,but Im trying....i dont wanna destroy myself 100%,even tho that i did damage to myself already,some that can never be repaired.
