Great video and great reminder for us parents. Unfortunately I probably have been every one of those dad’s at some point. He’s 20 now and still loves to ride and we are very close so it worked out hahaha. I think I’ll call him and apologize right now for putting to much pressure on him when he was young and learning to ride
I’m guilty of a few of these.. but enrolling in the technique class has helped both my son and I drop the expectations and actually learn and grow together.
I completely agree witj you buddy, i started racing in kids enduro with my 65 just to train a lil bit more and now, with my 85 im getting 3rd in my regional championship
Great examples: I personally had the ‘guilt trip’ dad combined with ‘because he can’ dad 🙈 I never received constructive feedback all I got was “you should see how …….. was going through there, he was so fast” When I asked what he was doing differently there was no feedback. But having a dad that was a terrible coach made me see the importance of a coach and when I was older I found a great coach and then became a coach myself.
Brianna Deegan, I'm rolling at that stab lol. Helpful video, I am pretty good at riding and was asked by a mom at the local track to help her kid learn how to ride. Doing vs. teaching is very different!! Definitely struggling a bit trying to teach him but words of encouragement and hype are definitely the way to go.
I started riding late in my life at 14 My Oldest Brother Displayed most of the stereotype's the guilt of riding, shaming I didn't go fast, and of course not cut out sell the damn thing. With the trials and errors it encouraged myself to get better which is why I watched MxFactory, Ryno, AJ Catanzaro to get my technique. It took a couple of rides, crashes, and hours of technique but i found my speed as i can be able to ride almost his level as his bike being a Husqvarna 501 vs my KX100. It's been 2 or 3 years been loaded with work and i found appreciation for doing just any activity really. Always display gratitude even if the experience was bad it goes a long way. Im grown out of the kx100 im having a difficult time of figuring out what bike i want as my brother and cousin's insists on their takes of what bike i get. I just want to be out there again, it's been far too long. Thank your Tyler for this video, not even being little i could still relate to those predicaments. Thank You for all those years of Lesson's and Tips. 🙏
Thanks Tyler for a great video to all of us moto parents. I think I can behave normally on the track with my son and there and in the car back to home we have fun and there are no problems. On the track my son´s consentration to ride his bike is very good. But sometimes when he does some "other tricks" off the track what he should not do (he has a diagnosed ADD and without that medication he may be VERY lively) I may say to him that we are not going to ride this week because of that he did (again). But then after a few hours we go anyway...We both enjoy mx so much. During weekends he doesn´t use his medication. Only for school days. Greetings from Finland! 🇫🇮
@@TheMxFactory yeah brah. rory over here in nz new zealand. bro idk. just bought myslfe a new toy digger too building me some sick asf motocross track an freestyle motocross track an Supercross track at my place an building a pit bike track an kids motocross track the mx factory
@The Mx Factory Eli and I are still grinding out the course. I’ve been off the social platforms a couple months so haven’t updated in the FB group but we are due for another in person session soon!
I know families with second and third mortgages on their homes to pay for their kids to go dirt bike racing. I know one family in particular that sold their house and there entire construction company so they could move to Florida to help facilitate their 10-year-old racing. On one hand I'm Amazed by what people are willing to do for their children and on the other hand I can't believe the financial risk that some families are willing to make for a very very small percentage of a chance that their kid could become a professional racer.
Just ride and have fun. I have a send it kid. He tells me that I have to send it more. I tell him to take it easy on the jumps because its not like we're getting paid for this lol. I'm from Canada so we are over the top in hockey. I promised when we got into this sport we wouldn't fall into the same trap.
yea Tyler is just to nice to be the bad guy 🤣 but its better this way 🙂 i cant wait till my son is old enough to get his first bike. Tyler what do you think would be the best age to start? he is pretty fast allready, 8 months old and allmost walking by him self. i guess 3-4 years would be good to get him a small electric dirtbike thingy were he can slow learn balance and throttle control, i hope he likes dirt bikes. nice video. i really try to teach him all you told me in all your videos. i learned a lot and got a lot faster, thanks to mx factory!!! good luck i am only hobby rider, so he will never get pressure from me to go racing or be the best. he can do however he has most fun! thats whats most important 🙂
Sometimes you need a little bit of the send it dad he doesn't really know how to ride but he will tell yah to go for it and tell you it looked cool when you eat it on the backside of the jump
i never understand some people. youre supposed to make it fun for your kid and an enjoyable experience for the both of you. let the kid decide how serious he wants to take it. too many failed racers attempting to live their dreams through their kids.
When they know they won't Hurt themselves sloped slightly \ to / central memory foam potato waffle should connect Jigsaw slider 1m² covered blocks . Grid crops to make them light as possible. Waterproof dirt mould can be hosed down. Also spotlight/s point camera 📷 Left and right front oncoming high fliers. I'm sure 1m² X 0.25/0.33 is heigh enough.
It’s an easy trap to fall into, we project our own motivation onto our kids. I’m in that now, my son is ready for a 85cc bike, I’m tempted to buy a new one, but really, a used bike is a much better idea.
Few give a shit about rip off racing, we are just forced into going because all the fun riding spots from the 80s and 90s are impound or parking lots. The gap between no riding and the elite is growing check to check. Riding for fun will be a thing of the past if at all.
Dude im a tennis pro beside motocross racer an supersport racer...superbike racer...i havent been around many but i heard tennis dads were notoriously way worse...some ...i would give names have actual restraining orders an legal court orders to not be around their tennis star child...that is way worse than motocross dads...i laugh when i moved ti florida an was gonna do a safety oriented beginners school of MX just cover the basics...my kx 500 had suspension issues so my old race shop wanted video of me riding so dad.....came to do his pro photo gig...3 guys from the promoter came over an kept saying ur dad is nice...oh u mean hes not a bleep...hey he likes bikes more than me i just laughed...there was that big a different that ur real son ur gonna give him a complex...an i aint talking apartments little bro...just kidding ur funny put it on the underhills bill...23 YZF 250F peace
