Great tutorial. This is my first moto GP game so I was absolutely staggered by the difficulty of it. I have hundreds of hours in F1 games and went into it thinking it would be a similar play style. How wrong I was. I've got a steep learning curve ahead of me but it's vids like this that help to ease you into the basics thanks.

The left stick control makes all the difference… as someone that has played violin for years, I find it shocking a video game requires as much practice as a musical instrument.

This was very useful, thank you. Especially the controller overlay. I've played all of the Milestone games since about 2013 and 2022 has been my least favourite because I just cannot get comfy on the bike. Having watched your video I think I might be being too binary on the left stick, just going left and right, rather than treating it like a clock face. Going to give that a shot and see how I go!

Instead of just pulling back k you can look into MOTOGP braking styles. Blipping the rear brake also keeps the rear down.

This way of tutoring is perfect, mate👌. That controller bit in real time is extremely helpful.

Kinda opened my eyes on this one. Im a huge motogp fan, i like the technical aspect of it, lover tight racing and stuff. But i come from sim racing, mostly gt3, dtm and have been racing for 6 year and i struggled alot here at first.. i didnt use a controller for a few years and im definately gonna have to try that left stick technique. I use both analogue joysticks, left for steering, right for accelerate, left & right buttons are for rear & front brakes - works much better for me.

Been trying to tell loads of people to use the left joystick like that for years, it seems impossible to adapt to for most people for some reason. Been doing it since the early days of GP Bikes were leaning forwards and backwards was actually necessary to stay on the bike ;) The only difference, i unassigned leaning forward on the left joystick as i have the habbit of keeping it pressed forward on the straights, something i picked up on GP bikes and never been able to ditch. Back then it actually tucked in your rider on the straight, now it sits up the rider and slows you down..so it had to go.

So IVE gotten better watching your videos - but I noticed my eyes are watching the track ahead more than the biker himself lol - that’s helped me a lot

Just watched this and the one you did in motogp 21, i feel confortable when i play the game not doing the forward analog stick to stop wheelie as i think it don't work in motogp 24, don't know motogp 22 as i played last year, but about the analog i just go left and right applying the right pressure dependind on the angle of the corner and pushing the analog backwards when braking as i feel i can be more precise entering the corner, helped a lot, still, it's about finding your style with i think is funny because anyone here can have different ride style in your hand lol.

Can you try on this with Ps2 Gamepad Without R2,L2 Pressure Sensitive Buttons?

When I play this game to me no matter how gentle or aggressive I am with the steering he just seems to lean really slowly especially on direction change

realism check: whatever physics simulation they have that dulls the pitch response of the bike is also keeping the rider on the bike if you stab the rear brake in the middle of a turn. It's an assist feature that you just can't turn off. weird game

I'm fairly new to xbox games and only downloaded this one today. I spent most of my time in the gravel. This should help. I've ordered a licenced controller too. The control overlay is a good idea.

Yeah man great tutorial. It's helped me realize that I should not have bought this game lol. Been watching this video and playing for three weeks now and have not gotten any better. Doesn't matter how slow I rotate the analog stick, I can't get the rider to lean soon enough. I end up try to rotate faster and then it's leaning way too early. I go light on the brakes and can't slow down enough to get through a turn clean. So I'm just sort of at a loss here. Great tutorial, dumb student I guess lol.

I’ve not watched the whole thing yet (my boss has a small problem with YT at work, what a jerk) but I do love this new overlay!! Much easier to see the sticks for steering!

Bought moto gp 23 and dissapointed of the gas mechanic ( even moto 3 picsk up, wich makes no sense). Got this one because i heard it's not like that. Did I understand correct? :)) Can't install it right now.

Guess im gonna have to fix my pc so i can play this game properly. I have been playing it on Nintendo switch and its fun, but impossible to play without heavy assists. The triggers on the switch are just buttons lot linear inputs so your throttle is either 0 or 100 no in between.

I haven't played MotoGP since it was on PS1, then finally bought it off the PS store, and mane its a huge difference... Too many crashes, bike too slow,

Trying to take turns like F1. That is one of my biggest problems right there! Always too late in the turn.

Great video. Ive tried playing this game and find it so fucking hard 😅. If youre like me and dont have time to spend hours practicing a game its probably best stick with 20/21. If all you want to do is get home from work and pretend to be Valentino Rossi for half hour or so then this game is not for you.

Take what this guy said, go to MotoGP Academy, select Red Bull Ring and drive Sector 1 until you can do better than the gold time (with competitive controller settings). Repetition, repetition, repetition... :D Rest every 15 minutes.

On PS5 I cannot find any option to make gear shift as automatic? Any idea where to find it

I kinda "pump" my brake. By hitting L2 like a trigger for many times in order to brake. My brake gauge on the dashboard goes up and down everytime. It helps for me this method!

Do you think you can show us how ypur controller is calibrated in the settings. I'm trying to replicate what you've done but just cant seem to get a feel of the bike

who else uses R/R2=shift up L/R2=shift down ○=accelerate □=front brake? all my race setup buttons is like that since ps2 NFS carbon. I've never get used to R2 for accelerate

Coming from MotoGP 19 to 22… the steering and braking feels so foreign. Like you miss the corners if you use the braking markers like 19. And the steering is so slow and heavy….

I have struggled with the game, never having a good feel... then I remembered I originally played it on PS4 and it didn't seem that hard, before updating to PS5. Now, PS5 uses a force feedback kind of effect on the triggers and possibly the sticks too. I'm having a bad flare-up of either carpal tunnel or osteoarthritis in my left wrist and thumb, and the bike seemed stiff, needing a lot of pressure to move it to where after 10 laps my left wrist was throbbing. Using a thumb extender on the left stick helped a bit but once I turned off the controlled button effect, boom... big difference. Bike feels lighter and responsive. Coming out of corners I can gently lean on the throttle now, It's not even pulling it much it's more just a pressure, to carry a little throttle. Same with brakes, much better response in trail braking. So it seems, I wasn't fighting the bike, I was fighting the controller. Couldn't get smooth on throttle or brake which was pushing the bike all over. It was from watching this video over and over, and your Ride4 and WSBK videos that got me back to playing those titles and it was then I started to wonder - why these three games felt different?. It's because they use the PS5 controller effect differently. MotoGP was worse, WSBK not so bad, R4 was very good for response. So thanks for the videos for making me keep looking for answers.

Great vid. How does 22 compare to Ride 4? I'm new to these games and whilst I'm getting the hang of Ride 4, I've still got it on easy mode and am not amazing. Is MotoGP 22 in the same ball park or harder still?

Even better than gamepad ? The "Thrustmaster Freestyler Bike" motorcycle handlebar is still unbeatable !

Thx. I will try this. But i think my controller is a problem. I use an old razer raiju and its way to sensible on the gas plus im always on the frontweel at braking. Im very soft at break and gas. Works in rims but this games control is crazy I wanted to try a ps5 controller, it is shown in the menu but inputs wont registered.

Hi 👋🏻 there I’m one handed and I use PS4 my controller settings are R2 for Acceleration Button X for Rear Brake and Square Button for Front Brake When I press them they don’t seem to break very well and I end up falling off the bike? And When I move the left Analogue Stick a little bit the bike doesn’t move left or right? Then when I move the Analogue Stick completely left or right the bike goes left or right but goes to far left or right and I can’t get round the corners and end up falling off the Bike? Please help Thank you

How do you instinctively know what racing line to take? I've been playing for nearly a year on off, no idea how anyone goes so gentle on the brakes but for me it's about where the position the bike to avoid oversteering
