Thank you sooo much! Now the download is started :D Just want to try it out. I think the 2nd biggest issue for driver from 4-wheel cars is to understand how to create an ideal line with a motorcycle. I would love to see a basic and advance guide for it, since I feel different bikes need different lines. But I really really struggle with the basics bike control due to not knowing where and why I have to put my bike.
Yeah the braking is huge for being fast. Most cat racers will come on to MotoGP and brake waaaaaay too late. Always make sure to brake earlier than you’re used to 👍🏻 I’ll look into doing guides for the smaller bikes as well 🔥
Thanks for the tips this is my 1st moto gp game and your tips are very helpful as the racing game i normally play are gt7 and the f1 game and going from racing cars to bike are very different.
Thank you for the tips! It definitely helps. In MotoGP21 I was very good at recovering time by being late and a bit aggressive on the breaks, but I just got MotoGP22 and it's absolutely impossible to do what I used to. The bike just won't turn and I'm out of the track in almost every strong brake zone. I disenabled every brake assistance and now it's a bit easier to turn, but I'm still struggling a bit.
Mate, this video has been incredibly helpful! As someone who's fairly decent at simracing games (AC & iRacing) and rides an S1000rr in real life, it's always frustrated the hell out of me that I've never been able to get the hang of these games. I've downloaded the MotoGP game every year for the past 3 years and always given up a few days. My expectation has never been for super realistic physics but at least reasonable and reliable handling like with the F1 titles to enjoy the game. I've never been able to find that consistency on the brakes but after watching this video and giving it another go something has clicked for me! I think also steering the bike by mentally focusing on the front end has helped a lot too. It's become a lot easier to manage the bike's lean angle with throttle and brake input as well. Thanks for helping me finally be able to enjoy these titles without losing my head after missing every apex!
My pleasure mate! I’m thrilled to hear it’s clicked for you. When I first started playing I had to keep trying and trying and eventually I got better. I was hoping to give people the advice they needed so I’m glad it worked for you 🔥 enjoy mate
Great video, one thing that's helped me is changing R1 to rear brake and "O" for down shift, the rear brake is way more noticeable in this game then past years in my opinion. Also L1 for ride height device is so helpful.
Braking is definitely tricky in this version, slowly getting the hang of it though. I eventually worked my way up to 120% AI on Ride 4, but I'm at around 60-70% on here, surprising how much taking a year off from motorcycle games has affected my riding, almost no consistency.
for me engine braking really does help me alot in certain tracks like portimao, red bull ring, rarely do i need to slam on the brakes, probably just 80%, but with the right settings of ebs and engine braking u got the sweet recipe for braking, although by using this technique, u will be on edge bcs u feel like ure not stopping but eventually u will haha, cheers Dr Ace!
the brake heating time bars are counter-intuitive, more dashes mean faster heating time and more blue bars means faster cooling time, larger brakes are good for downhill braking zones after top speed straights like Red Bull Ring, smaller brakes are good for sweeping circuits with few hard braking zones after long straights
I'm new to the game and after each race keep getting the 'it looks like you're having trouble with the front brakes' and offering to turn on auto brakes, which I don't want to do. Could the Brake input modulation help me here? I think I'm perhaps slamming on too hard and locking up, overshooting the corners. Great vids by the way, your Ride 4 one helps me lots.
Yeah you could try break input modulation. It does make things a bit easier 👍🏻 brake modulation would definitely help with locking the front. Do try to avoid slamming on the breaks. Thanks mate. Hope that helps. Let me know how you get on 👍🏻
Just bought the game, it's real frustrating for 1st timer like me. Taking corner it's hard for me, it's confusing to choose brake or lean the body first. I'd like to see more tips tutorial especially for noon like me 🤣✌️. Almost every corner turn either i fell or wide 😂
Just moved on this after playing Ride 4. Great game, but just when I thought I was getting the hang of bike racing games this has me feeling like I'm starting all over again. It feels so different to ride 4
Braking in 22 its not impossible but hard to master,i manage myself with playstation 2 controller 90 % ai difficulty but at first its damn hard , then as the more time you practice the more clearer how to manage braking , in practice or qualy i just follow the fastest ai rider on track and try to follow them its actually make your time faster
I have '18, '19, '20 and '22 and I have to say, I HATE '22. More often than not, when I hit the brakes, NOTHING happens and I go sailing through the corner and then my controller goes sailing across the room along with the expletives sailing from my mouth. HATE this version.
im MotoGP fan and a casual player, its really tricky, my hands just slam everything LOL! i realize you need to be very smooth on the inputs with this game... been playing quite a little while and im at a Beginner stage LOL! thanks for the tutorials keep it coming...
Thank you DrAce for this tip video. I have bought this game but haven't played motogp21 or 20,. I really cant remember when my last motogp game i have played, so these tip videos are really helpful. I been watching tip videos for motogp21 since there isnt much out there yet for 22. Since i been watching videos for 21 when it comes to certain tips i don't know if its still relevant for 22. Another thing i have been trying to figure out is if i have to use the clutch with downshifting or in general since i know motogp bikes can be different than your average street bike, so when you get to a video that contains that information can you please mention when you do have to use the clutch. I tried looking online for answers and got a mix of different results so i haven't got a clear answer. I look forward to your future videos and i want to learn as much as possible when it comes to this game. I like how you get straight to the point and you are very clear and easy to understand. I have subbed to your channel because of those reasons. Keep up the good work, hope all is well and take care.
i swear the AI cheats, when i get side by side with i brake at the same time as them go slower into the corner than the AI does and yet still run wide whilst they fly around the corner, no idea what i'm doing wrong with that one
Great info. I downloaded the game yesterday, so does that mean I already have the update patches as when I click on the x button for update it just take me to the page but no other link to follow. Cheers
You need to be softer on the brakes to stop that from happening. If you just pull it you’ll always flip over. Use a lot of rear brake to slow down as well. That helps me a tonne
@@DrAce46 I know but it's unrealistic. It's like a minigame, fighting the end overs lol. On a real bike you have to lean forward and make that happen, it's not from using too much front brake. It's really awful.
@@23ograin53 unfortunately mate you have to play it like a game and ignore the real stuff. Watch the esports laps and it’ll make you cringe how they ride the bikes in the game😂
@@23ograin53 Do you ride in irl? If you squeeze them front brakes at a decent speed your defently going over 😂 I think the braking in MotoGP21-22 is brilliant
They made the breaking too difficult 20/20 was the best MotoGP game when you had joint breaks it's a video game after all and having the two buttons to break makes it much difficult and not as fun
Thx for your answer. But with set ups i mean the other setup you can change like, how strong the brakes are, 100 %-200%, linear or not , the sensitivity of the joysticks etc. Best regards
@@kevjamtv7562 Ahh I see, my mistake mate. So far I haven’t changed any of these yet. I am tempted to increase the sensitivity so the brakes are more similar to MotoGP 21 👍🏻 if I change I’ll let you know
@@DrAce46 hi, thank you for replying. I did finally figure out how to turn without loosing grip. You push your weight backwards while turning or braking and the bike stopped wobbling and loosing grip. Thank you.
In Moto gp 22 the only issue is the bike is falling for no reason in turn...... This was the same issue in Moto gp 2020. Handling is not good........ Braking has been improved....... In Moto gp 2021 the only issue was braking
Are you trial braking too much into the corner? If you’re crashing mid corner I would say it’s due to too much brake. MotoGP 21 required a more sensitive touch whereas they’ve made it easier this year
Hello mate. New player here, haven't played a moto gp game in over a decade and my word there are so many new features. I started off with a lot of the assists, including the auto brakes. When im playing, it is very difficult to slow my bike down (and im slamming on the brakes). Im not sure if this is from an assist or something I need to tune like in your brake tutorial but figured I would leave a comment now and return after work.
@@DrAce46 I figured that might have been the case. In some of the online races I did, I noticed that people were passing me and creating gaps with little effort. I guess its time to take the training wheels off! I will definitely check out more of your content!
@@DrAce46 do you have anything pertaining to controller settings like thumbstick sensitivity? I noticed when I ride, its VERY sensitive with any movement I might make.
Thank you so much for the tips, dr. ace😁 i wanna know, is there any effect from corner speed to later on corner exit?cause i think my corner speed is the same as everyone else, but when accelerating out of the corner i just feels like left behind.. do you have any suggestions for me??.-.
You’re welcome mate! I would say getting the right corner exit is vital for a fast lap. If you focus on the corner exit you’ll then learn how much power to leave the corner with
I come from the FIFA world. I have no sensitivity in pressing the front and rear brakes. Is there a way, a help, to start doing it and then slowly do it spontaneously?
The only thing I don’t like about those guides is that you learn to react to the guide, rather than to learn the track. But as long as you’re having fun it really doesn’t matter 👍🏻
Thanks for the tips, doc. Very helpful. I usually don't bother putting the rider weight behind on brakes, only use it to prevent wheelies. Guess I have to start practicing that. Currently I had to pull my braking markers a bit earlier than what I used to on GP21 to stop properly for a corner. Hopefully it will improve with practice. ✌🏼
@@DrAce46 I've felt this year's braking punishes you in a different way if you're too agressive going into corners, the bike just wouldn't turn in and make you go wide. Which is why I'm taking it a bit easier right now and braking a bit early. But I do agree that last year it was much brutal and resulted in stoppies very easily if not careful.
@@dominicmurphy6934 Yeah you need to be using a lot more rear brake than you do in RIDE 4. Also take into consideration that you can lock the brakes in MotoGP 22. So be careful if you attempt to turn and brake at the same time
This is so frustrating:). I have been playing motogp games since 2002 and unfortunately never ever i paid any attention to weighting the rider back or forward. Believe or not i was able to ride some decent times. Since the motogp 21 and now 22 are much harder on breaking i finally decided today to learn this element according to your advices. Unfortunately since my left thumb is used for so many years to move just left or right i absolutely have no senses for this adding back and forth.. I feel like completely rookie. If i ride without this, i easily win on 80% AI, if i try to add weighting the rider, i finish last... I am trying to add help by indicators of curves, but doesn't succed too much. I am always late if i follow them. Do you find them accurate or they are useless?
The curbs are there to help, it can you give you a good indication of when to brake and what kind of corner it is. Always aim out of there corner rather than the apex. If you focus on the apex you’ll go too tight and not be able to get the correct speed
@@DrAce46 hm, interesting, thx. Of course i am always focused on the apex, that might be one of the problems. I just did few laps focusing on the out of the corner and it was significantly better... About the leaning the rider. If i got it correctly, you have it in neutral position (up-down) on the straight, backside before the turn, neutral in the corner, upward right out of the corner and neutral again on the straight? Is that right? I am struggling with that as i was used to only left and right, now when i got that backside before the corner, i tend to keep it back even inside the curve and that's extremely hard to control, wobbling a lot... Thank you very much, you tips are very helpful!
@@lukassedlacek8308 you’ve got it dude, neutral on straights Push forward on the exit of the corner to reduce wheelie (but if you don’t think the bike will wheelie don’t push forwards) Push backwards to keep the weigh in the back of bike when braking 🔥 No problem mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Im still playing MotoGP 21 but i assume my problem could still be relevant. I suffer frrom a lot of rear tyre sliding upon acceleration. So im in the motogp class and i can say im doin good overall. My difficulty is on 80% on the AI and im competitive on most of the tracks. I have no assists on. So i own motorcycle myself and i know that i have to be smooth on the controls and thats exactly what im doing in the game. As soon as im goin out of the corner i try to gradually increase the throttle but the rear wants to spit flames most of the time. Then i learned to shift gears manually as i thought the manual short shift will help me solve this problem. It didnt. I short shift on dry, i short shift on wet. Rear wants to slide 90% of the time. On the fist 2/3 laps is ok as my tyres are still fresh but after that its just painful... I start thinking that it could be the bike but i highly doubt it. Im on the petronas yamaha right now. Pls.. help.. : D
Sounds like you’re applying the throttle too aggressively. You have to be really soft on the throttle on MotoGP 21. There’s a setting called corner assistance control or something like that, try to see if that helps 👍🏻👍🏻
@@DrAce46 this is what I'm trynna say. I'm not aggressive at all. I'm constantly comparing to you and to other RU-vidrs. Where you have your throttle fully open I'm still building because of that sliding thing
By getting the braking right, the corner speed all comes from the correct corner entry. If you enter too late it'll be really hard to throw the bike over :)
Have you tried changing the rear brake in controller calibration? I changed saturation from 100 to 60 & it’s made a huge difference, especially when trail braking
I only ask because of what you said at 6:30 which is what gave me the idea in the first place. Your videos have been a huge help for me as a new player
No idea how yoh can get a fast time and be aggressive being gentle on tbe brakes? I'll keep trying but diving into corners is harder with a gentle style
Brake as early as possible and compare the speed and control difference to braking too late and out of control. You’ll see how much speed difference there will be when exiting the corner
@@DrAce46 since I've been going more gentle mate I don't use tve brake enough it's too gentle doesn't correct things and I go off the track where as going hard and aggressive seems to work better but maybe I have the wrong racing lines. No idea how anyone plays this game being gentle on a controller it just loses you the control of tve bike barely touching the brake
It’s a balance between braking softly enough so the bike doesn’t lock the brakes and hard enough to slow the bike down. 80% on the brakes will usually be enough. If it’s hard braking zone I’ll brake hard and then slowly reduce the break as I get closer to the apex
By using the brake markers mate, you should start leaning in after some straight line braking. It’s more of a feeling thing. I do plan on making a video about it but it’s hard to explain
Nailing braking is always the best place to start, then slowly working on accelerating smoothly. Mostly just practice mate. I’ll have think if there’s any tips in particular though
Downshifting without applying more throttle causes pretty high rear wheel braking at least irl. So much so that there are top level riders that don't mess with the rear brake much at all because it's simply not needed.
@@DrAce46 yeah i discovered that cos i kept crashing 😂 but yeah it’s a lot different to motogp 20 which is what i use to be really good at and now i just seem to be unable to stop the bike at the same breaking points so yeah braking earlier is the only option 👍
Hi, how do I brake at Valencia straight for the first corner, when I want to brake late most of the time I dont make the corner. Do I press both brakes at the same time and how much, I have watched the video but I dont get it. Sometimes when I brake the bike wont turn properly sometimes it does turn, do I use the rear brake during cornerings? Hope I was clear.
@@DrAce46 Weird, whenever I brake but not at full percent I cant make the corner. Because I use all the electronics on, like abs etc. So I have found that while I turn I still have the front brake applied but I let it go wjen I get close to the apex so yeah I get that part. Just dont know how should I not brake at full strenght when going 335 kmph down the straight.
@@DrAce46 I have managed to make the first corner but sometimes if I am not at full strenght when braking, for example turn 6 or turn 2 I dont make the apex, but that can be because of braking point.
@@DrAce46 I dont get this, so when I try to brake like you said most of the time I go wide in turn 1. Then when I brake at 100% its fine but in turn 12 I cant make the bike turn because I applied too much brake, I have heard about too much brake before. Then I try braking with less power there and yet again the bike wont turn. That corner is the worst to me. I understand most of the methods you said but it works half the time. Then again my bike positioning isnt great all the time. This game is a bit frustrating.
Can someone explain to me why in helmet cam or the second on board cam, if I lean forward on the straight, the rider goes up? Makes no sense but he automatically goes down behind the windshield
@@GeekyDolphin46 Those are free practice sessions. They have combined times. The top 10 in MotoGP go directly through Qualifying 2. Where as the other riders who finished with a combined time position of below 11th will have to go into Qualifying 1 to fight for the for top two spots to have a chance at pole position. The game explains this on the weekend management screen before starting the race if you need it 👍🏻👍🏻
Absolute nonsense with this games braking. They are imbeciles and have made the game unplayable for many with this braking. Give people a choice of Split or Combined braking. They over complicated it. It has ruined the game. Worst MotoGp game I've played because of the stupid unresponsive braking system. I have been brave and gone and said it. YES men out there that's it said. Will uninstall and go back to playing something older and better.
Joint braking is not a good assist as it will apply the rear brake in corners where it’s not needed, it’s very messy in RIDE 4 when it’s used. I think you’re missing out on some of the best designed braking in the series, the ability to lock the front and feel the power of the brakes is extremely rewarding when done right. It will take some time getting used to it but it can be learned 👍🏻
@@DrAce46 i think i will give motogp a go again after seeing your video, it sounds from what im seeing that theres tremendous depth and skill involved in the game, and after many many hours you will get the reward of having a thrilling race feeling.
@@danielantunes1035 Yeah it is a learning curve and can be quite steep for some but I think the feeling and enjoyment of riding competitively really makes the experience feel worthwhile :D
I always been into racing and not ome game I can't play i mean a monster in race games but this my friend got my loosing my mind now I finally get it down but the braking is killing me
It can be tough to get used to if you’re more used to playing car racing games. Always best to remember to brake that much earlier than a car and remember you have both brakes to use to your advantage 👍🏻
@@DrAce46 thanks champ day 4 doing alot better customize some of the setting went from sliding all over the place to staying infront Marquez for half lap before they pit me sideways or outside of mark so far the journey has been awsome its just so cool to see the pack together taking turns and wheelie off corner off acceleration and absolutely right both brakes must me applied but most importantly don't tap brake a the way down tKes 50 to 60 percent I learned game is on point
