So glad I was around during these awesome times. Before big business sterilized the GP scene putting it behind security guards, 20 foot high fences etc etc...Sitting on the armco barrier at Spa watching Roberts, Sheene, Mamola will always remain a motorsport highlight for me.
I was there all those years ago, me and my mate flew from Zimbabwe to watch. Was hoping to see Freddie Spencer and Dave Peterson but neither of them made it.
Anyone interested in rabbit stew should FF to 32:15. A hare runs onto track, and into the leaders Mamola and Lawson. Gets knocked into next week, spinning unconscious in the air a foot off the track. Hope he was ok.
Yep, love that style of commentary.. Not just dribbling shit to hear their own voices... Gee, be interesting to see a "wher are they now" on some of these racers... Those were the days.
This was.a fantastic fast GP circuit before it was modified and completely destroyed??? with all those new dumb slow bends and chicanes…..a real shame???
Announcer calls Randy Mamola, "the freckle-faced, ginger headed stocky man!" wtf? He also said he is from the 'uplands', or something? Can't understand British gibberish. Does he mean Northern California, or the Sierra mountains?? idk.
