Yeah, some of the third party metal etch and metal parts conversion kit for HG/MG Gundam Frame is looks good and at same time affordable. Imagine if Bandai made an official "Metal Parts Conversion kit". It's going to be P-bandai and 3 times -faster- more expensive.
The lubu's model. the horse is huge and the overall design is beyond amazing. The amount of moveable parts is beyond expectation. It is definetly worth the price
Fun fact: This line of figure from Motor Nuclear is adapted from a manhua called Legend of star general. The plot is not so...new, I think because it was made just for selling the figure, but it still kinda interesting to read.
Ayee I have this! Mine was defected the one side of the wings WOULD not go into the backpack slot I had to literally use a hammer to get it in and still is not half way through eventually I hammered it enough that it's inside :'D Thank goodness the build quality is strong
@@notfutomomo3424 I remember only paying around 200 USD for it sometime last year~ It's an old kit. I remember paying less than my actual metal builds that I own. Weird how the site listed release date is may 2022 that is super false 😂
Some early adopters of this feel bittersweet. On the one hand, it is indeed a very high quality, well made figure. On the other hand... when it was first advertised people ordered it thinking that it was a stylized, non-chibi version of the Ryuoumaru from Mashin Hero Wataru (it was a very popular anime in China). It had a head and shoulder design style to the Metal Myth Dragon King Barbatos. However inexplicably towards the final release, Motor Nuclear pivoted away from the design and early pre-orders were dismayed to learn that we got this 'humanoid-looking' facesculpt instead, and that they were focusing on their own original IP. There were plenty of people who felt burned by Motor Nuclear and refused to purchase any of their later figures even though they were highly rated. Motor Nuclear only have themselves to blame for losing good will of those customers to other brands like CangDao Tibetan Model and MoShow, both of which are also producing high quality metal build figures at 1/72 size.
So I was curious and looked into it. This is the second of 5 different figures in this line (named of course MNQ-01 through MNQ-05). 04 seems more my cup of tea, but using that order, the first one is Yellow/gold/red primarily, and transforms into a western style dragon. Second is of course this with the phoenix motif. Three is blue/White/green with a chinese dragon motif. Doesn't appear to transform himself, but does come with a secondary chinese dragon that turns into bits of armor on him. 04 is black/red/gold and doesn't seem to have the mythological motifs of the rest (maybe a demon?) nor a transformation, but kind of looks amazing with his cape/backpack thing and weapons. 05 which looks like the one he shows in the video, but minus the horse, purple/black/red, named Lu Bu which is based on his namesake. They mostly look similar in terms of chest/feet/waist, but all have different heads and armor bits and very different accessories. Lu Bu appears to be an exception, as that one particularly has different feet. They are also all incredibly expensive (450-500 USD range). But yeah, if that's not a deal breaker and you're looking for a different scheme than this one, there are others.
The entire line is their effort at an original IP, there is a Chinese manhua called "Legend Of Star General" being made (and translated). It's not very good, very generic story. The designs though are interesting.
The MNQ-04 is gan jiang base on a mythology about a sword smith couple They made two legendary sword named husband sword and the wife sword And the two sword are told to be invincible or smt as far as i remember
Honestly been waiting/hoping to see if you would do a review of the Motor Nuclear range. Been really wanting one as i love all the designs i have seen but was cautious especially given the cost. Awesome job as always and much appreciated!
Your prayers have been answered. They're making a 1/100 scale, metal frame version, of their Ao Bing/ Blue Dragon figure. They're even doing a special coating version. Hopefully, if it does well, they'll do a kit of their other figures; including the one in this video.
Just like other commenter said, the 5th model (lu bu) is quiet an asthonising figure. But personally i like the 3rd model with the blue dragon, it just kills it for me. So good. Great video always
I just built the ao bing from this company and I'm shocked at how good it is for the price. I'd love for you to review it, it's more of a traditional gunpla style build, and it's actually about MG size. Plus it comes with a dragon, what's not to love lol
I wanted to let you if you see this, but because of you. I recently got into gundam and the first one that I got was Ban Dai MG RX-78-2 ver 3.0. I have been really enjoying building it in my free from work.
I have the black dragon one, i nick name it the destroyer of hands due to all the sharp spiky bits everywhere. Very hard to hold, but i love it to bits
This clearly is inspired also by the conversion kit of Barbatos Lupus Rex with Ryujinmaru. Because it gives so many Barbatos vibes. Its so cool. Amazing review!
Hey you should do a video on what gundams (and other kits) have the most robust joints and best connections its something thats super overlooked in most reviews
i saw one at ali express and just thought it was some random gundam bootleg but after looking at more models i realised that they are actually really cool models, i dont think they beat the sazabi or the hi nu but oh lord now i love them
I got this as well as the rest of the Motor Nuclear on my channel. They are good as MoShow. You finally got it now. Yay. They are huge with the wings. So need a lot of space. I am still waiting my MN-Q05 deluxe with horse.
This company just made 1 of their "metal build" into model kit w/metal frame recently (the green one with 1meter length dragon). Might happen with this one as well.
@@kingdasking when they release the SD versions That's what the next buzzs was about I should have asked if it was going to be a metal frame I doubt it though
That's probably just me thinking out loud here, but the whole Motor Nuclear line definitely gives me some serious ass Shoji Kawamori mixed with Koichi Ohata vibes and with just that tang of Masami Obari too. In other words, they looks fucking awesome.
You should check out the Black dragon unit from them as well. Its the best one they have currently and is the largest as far as parts count. Also they have an upcoming demon figure that is amazing.
have to scroll down this far to find a Wataru comment, sad day for old school mecha fan. When you copy design that old(and NOT that old at the same time because bandai made new series for it for NEXT Edge and have it on youtube) I m getting the same feel when people call Gundams Transformers when the head is 100% Ryu____Maru variation.
Hi , how do you clean panel Lines from titanium finish type model kits? , I ' m thinking about buy the elite Ao Bing , but i am worried about the finish , i usually use accent and zippo fluid , and i cannot use in house spray coating ....
I noticed this this was named Cao Ren on the box, of which he's from Romance Of The Three Kingdoms/Dynasty Warriors. Cao Ren typically doesn't have phoenix imagery iirc... And they're doing a Lu Bu WITH RED HARE!!?
Hi there, I wanna join the "gunpla" - world and build me a PG gunpla, but everywhere I look it seems like they are out of stock except a few models that I dont fancy that much. - I just want to build 1.. not 10.. just 1.. so I want a good one, with a base and led and good amount of poses. - build diffeculty doesnt matter, I got time and I got faily usefull hands :D. So a Perfect Grade Gunpla is prefered for me.. Any suggestions. ? - and are there a reason why they are out of stock everywhere - are they limited production or just being produced a sertant time a year ?
I have two that are similar to this and both of them use Gundams Bael and Barbatos as their base and take them to the next level. The first is the Sanada Yukimura Bael and the second is the Barbatos Dragon Lord or Ryuginmaru. Both were made in China but I forgot the names of the companies that made them, check them Mecha and everyone. 😊👍👍👍
Devil Hunter. They designed 7, released 4 under that name. The fifth was probably the one that caused them to shut down, a stylized version of the Crossbone Full Cloth Gundam (but using a Barbatos body). It was called the Devil Hunter YY03 Black Flag, and I think it was still released but under a different brand name.
@@ArionRDAW Thanks, I had totally forgotten, I was just so impressed to see Bael (one of my top 5 in the franchise) designed to look like Sanada Yukimura from Sengoku Basara I just had to have it for my collection.😊👍✌
Have you seen the new Metal Build Crossbones Full Cloth Black Flag yet? Its bigger than a MG Eclipse Gundam and is a Fully Cloth Crossbones on a Barbatos Frame
this give me a strong Super Robot Wars Original Generations unit especially the Cybuster due to how it transforms albeit through parts-forming but it is still similar to the Cybuster's transformed mode in terms of layout.
I have the Lubu deluxe, lubu is my favorite character in dynasty warriors and three kingdom worth every penny. I might also get the guan yu.. when my wife is on vacation with the in-laws lol
Hi,i wanna ask for everyone's opinion. Kind of a new builder here only started with hg barbatos. For my next buy thinking of going with the tallgeese then the month after choosing between rg sazabi or rg nu gundam. I wonder which one is the better choice. Thanks in advance
moshow, motor nuclear and cangdao, i think its safe to say these 3 china brands are the best metal build producer, moshow for modern design, motor nuclear and changdao for more fantasy like design, oh if you are able please review cangdao white tiger, my favorite metal build design lol
I have this bad boy! It is awesome. A fair Warning however. The instructions were unclear how to remove the pommel from the sword and I wound up ripping the top part of the handle out of the blade by the plastic. I don't know if mine just happened to have a weak bit of plastic there or if it is common across all kits. Just be careful while dealing with the sword handles everyone.
I was hoping you'd found one of their complex models to actually be really good as I've only heard near disaster stories about their glorious and 'oh so tempting' kits! A lot of money to gamble on a kit that might just fight you all the way...
Honestly. I bought Ao Bing a year ago, initially I loved how these models looked they were so unique ! But a lot of people started comparing it to “IBO” which this does not look close to. If you know your sources well this just an elongated version of Mashin Warriors Ryu Maru and the rest of the cast with some twists and extra detail. I ended up giving it away to a friend because it just didn’t fit my primarily “real robot” models with the exception of CCS TOYS gurren lagann and Dynaaction Eva 1.
The Motor Nuclear figures were compared to IBO because of the inner frame skeleton, which is basically copied from Bandai's metal build version. The Metal Myth Dragon King Barbatos was the first to do it, then followed by the Devil Hunter DH-01 Date Masamune and DH-02 Sanada Yukimura. In Devil Hunter's case, they went even further: they copied the 3rd party resin kits for the outer armor as well.
@@ArionRDAW oh yeah I’m aware of the other actual 3rd party kits that use Barbatos frame. But what I’m saying is this frame isn’t close to an IBO frame at all. It’s more close to a strike freedom type of frame to be honest.
Anyone else notice that the twin sword/lance looks exactly or similar to Tekkaman blade blaster form lance, hopefully if orange cat industry does the blaster form the lancer looks as good as that
