In this video I demonstrate how to replace all of the motor and transmission mounts in a 2011 Ford Escape 3.0 This should cover model years 2008-2012 including the Mercury Mariner and Mazda Tribute with the 3.0 liter engine.
I replaced all mine with DEA aftermarket and the vibration did not change, so your mileage may vary depending on sequence you do the mounts and/or quality of mounts you buy. It could just be the engine is unbalanced, but mine is the 2.3 L Mazda engine and this video is 3.0 L engine.
Only one mount and the steering wheel likes to vibrate when in DRIVE. If you switch to neutral and vibration goes away, I would say the trans mount is problematic.
