You have perfected the chaotic Egyptian way of life 🙃but be careful with that motorcycle, safety first, I also have trouble with following the map routes as I miss turns a lot, and I always hear re-calculating when I am using the maps😂, I found that using 10 inch tablet reduced or even eliminated the misses because I can see the small details and the arrows to tun or merge in lines, I also can see the route lines and lanes I should be on when in a highway.

Is he the type of hustler who hopes you stop, then he can convince you to go to his shop so he can sell you stuff you don't need? 😂 these are the worst type of hustlers in Cairo, I remember I stayed in a motel and there was an elderly tourist who they sold him so much stuff he doesn't need and they basically emptied his pockets so the motel owner took him back to the shop and threatened them with the police and managed to return the stuff and get the poor elderly tourist his money back.

I know I took a lot of wrong turns, that's why I say I did in the video 🤣 I already know about the main entrance of course, I live here (and I mention the other entrance in the video), I hate the main entrance though, for multiple reasons. And the new entrance is still being built, so useless for now, can't get in that way. I prefer the Sphinx entrance.

So cool that your entire family is familiar with Egypt, though sounds like a lot of long distance traveling for you wife 😅 I have met up with a few people over the years, if I happen to have time while they are visiting, usually for a coffee or a beer or something. I'm a social cat and I like to meet people and hear their stories, but it's unfortunately not very often as I always have a lot of work and a tight schedule. It's cool though, even when I just run into people on the street, to meet the people that are watching my videos. Before coming to Cairo, no, I had never driven a motorcycle. I bought my first motorcycle here in Cairo and learned how to drive a motorcycle here in Cairo. Trial by fire 🤣 I wasn't too shocked by the traffic though when I first arrived as a simple pedestrian though, because I lived for a short while in Vietnam in the past and have spent months backpacking around India. Learning how to drive a motorbike was different though, and that was stressful at first 😄

I'm sorry Mohammad, but I can't help! I don't know of any place in Cairo that rents out motorbikes. I have had quite a few people ask me this in the past, and I have never found a place that rents motorcycles, only sells. I also am not legal to be a tour guide, nor do I want to be, as I find giving tours to be very exhausting and just not for me 😅 But exploring on your own is completely doable, if you're comfortable enough. My first day arriving in Egypt a few years ago I did the same - I just ordered Ubers and explored everywhere on my own, without issue. But if you do manage to find a place that rents out motorcycles, please let me know!

Yeah, honestly I don't think it deserves that rating, I don't have issues and I'm always out alone doing crazy shit. I guess there's lots of catcalling, I assume that's where it gets it's rating from. But I feel a lot safer here as a woman walking around than I do in many other countries around the world. Physical safety is pretty good, but catcalling is more prevalent. Although, when I was living in NYC, I got catcalled on a daily basis too, and more aggressively than I do here. Guys say stuff here, but I just ignore them and that's that. Guys in NYC follow you around, call you bitch if you don't respond, etc. Maybe they are doing that here and I just don't understand them, but I don't get the same feeling, it feels less aggressive and non-threatening. Just giving my opinion based on my personal experience.

You picked a great time to ride through Cairo, not much Traffic, you said 107F ugh HOT!!! I always go in December , of course you know why. Your New Bike is looking good! I just got back from Morocco, was like Egypt, I looked for the Cass Barr but nope LOL, Marrakesh was nice, Then Lebanon and Syria.,,, Your still the Bravest Person I know riding in Cairo. Be Safe.

Lol no the police don't bother me in Cairo, only when I am traveling to different places around the country, so long distance trips is usually when I pick them up. They don't notice or bother me in Cairo though 😁😎 Can't wait to go to all those countries myself! Still trying to plan the ride to Jordan though, if it's even feasible 😆 Are you heading to Lebanon and Syria now, or are you already finished with your travels there?

@@Gventures I just got back...I was amazed you got your phone back that time, but glad you did. Every year I pick somewhere to go, get a one way ticket and go! once overseas as you know, airfares are so cheap, most airlines I can even pronounce LOL, this year I went to find the Cass Bar in Casablanca, well no cass bar =( went to Lebanon, drove to Syria, forgot about the stamp on King Hassan Bridge going into Jordan, What's at the other end on the bridge? ISRAEL, well $40 bribe worked, should have used another passport oh well. Aleppo one night started fighting again, was very bad, for 100 miles everything was destroyed by Isis, Rebels, Assad, Iran ,Russia. You can ride your bike I believe to Jordan, but I think its via Israel and tons of paper work and that don't guarantee anything. For syria, change your money at the border in Lebanon, very hard to change US Dollars in Syria, i think illegal for Syrians to have USD. After that mess, went east, HK, Taiwan, Korea, DMZ, unofficially North Korea, got a shit load of there money for my collection, Spent a month riding in Vietnam, was 40 years since I was there, now 107K Americans have retired due to the $$, need any other infor let me know. Haha, thank you Jake! 🙏 I would LOVE to drive through the Sinai mountains! I am actually hoping to drive from Cairo to Jordan passing through the Sinai mountains sometime this year or next, but I heard I need a special permit to drive my motorcycle through Sinai now (even before the escalating conflict across the border). I am not sure if the fact I need a permit is accurate information, I still do intend to try when it's not so hot and I have some time. I've been out to Sinai and climbed Jabal Mousa and passed by St. Catherine's Monastery (it was closed when I was there), but I took the bus that time. Driving my motorcycle there would be WAY more amazing, so I really hope I can do it. Shukran gidden ya Jake 🥰

Thank you for this excellent video, my late Aunt used to live in Sabri Abou Alam Street, and I visited her there from England often. I recognised her apartment block on the right, and the church she used to attend on the left. Although I was brought up, and have lived all my life in England, I was born in Cairo, and my Mum was Egyptian. I still have family there, and they run a jewellers shop.

Oh haha, no way! I lived in a hostel right across from the church too! For almost 2 months, before I found my own apt. Nice area, I have a lot of friends who work in downtown so I am there fairly often. Glad I could show you some old familiar streets 😁

Really enjoyed video ride, would definitely love to see more 'behind the scenes' rides etc. Your route entertaining.. walked the ring road years ago from metro line all way to Nazlet Saman, was great once you started catching glimpses of the pyramids... that was before all those on/off ramps, barriers n flyovers there are now though. U got volume spot on, must be hard when so much noise around you, to know how clear your commentary is. Thank u n looking forward to next video.

Thank you Judith! Wow, yeah I didn't consider much how it must have been different because of the developments over the years. I had a much better route planned that gave a more awe inspiring entrance and view of the pyramids, but then I screwed it all up 🤣 Oh well. And very observant of you, noticing the volume! Yeah I'm from the US, but no I'm not going back. I never plan to live in the US again. I might not live in Egypt forever, but if I move (no current plans to, I like living in Egypt), I wouldn't return to the US, I would move somewhere else.

I don't know if I would ever make a video about the museum because I think filming inside of museums can make kind of a boring video, but I am interested in checking it out myself, I love ancient jewelry 😄

I am looking forward to your Sunday video, Gisselle, but in the meantime, you took us on one of your more challenging rides to get to the Pyramids!! I loved the way, when you started off, that several people knew you, and were sending you off on your merry way - that was quite endearing!! I know you were disappointed about the route, but that didn't matter too much to us viewers!! I can tell you that I for one found the video entertaining, and I am sure I was swearing more than you at many points!! I have never driven a motorbike, but I can see that you have to be super confident, and extremely gutsy!! Certainly if your future plans involve riding us around some interesting spots, I am all for it!! I can see that the extreme heat on Wednesday must have been really difficult to deal with, but I'm sure you'll feel that it was all worth it in the end. I asked my bf (who is Egyptian), he also said it's a palace. Honestly I don't really care, it was a passing comment in the video as I was riding for over an hour. @@hankbrinkman I can't film in malls because security always tells me I'm not allowed to film in there, I did try once. But I also think filming inside of a mall is kind of boring, most people know what a mall is and what it looks like, it's just a building filled with stores for shopping and, to be honest, I hate shopping 😅So beyond the fact I can never successfully film inside a mall due to security, I also don't really enjoy it or think it makes for a very interesting video.

I only upload once a week, on Sunday. If I upload 2 videos a week, it would be one riding video on Friday, and one regular video on Sunday. Riding videos are a bit easier to make and something I am already doing to go to places to film for Sunday video. Making 2 videos a week that aren't riding videos is a lot of work, I don't have the time for it, as I already have a full time job that is not RU-vid, and all my free time I spend making videos.

I've been told I should apply for Nat Geo or something like that before 😅I've done a little voiceover work in the past, and I do enjoy doing voiceovers for my videos, when the need arises. I usually reserve it for videos that require a lot of explanation, ancient sites, or extra special, beautiful places, like my Mount Sinai video, and Cafe Culture in Egypt. Btw I found the Saqqara video where I briefly show the Serapeum. Like I said though, the video sucks 🤣It's just a long vlog, no voiceover or anything. If I went back I would do a much better job of making this video, but I was learning a lot then.
