I went from Ho-Chi-Minh to Hanoi 2100km within 12 days, including a lot of sightseeing in Mui Ne, Hoi An, Hue and Phong Nha. One day I did 535km from Cam Ranh to Hoi An within 10h. Right, I'm not normal :D Next time I would take more time for it....

Have you heard of Ô Quy Hồ pass in Lai Châu province? Its the longest pass in Vietnam, its over 50km, it has magnificent view, no word to describe the landscape, the terrain, the view. Its not for every Biker, not much tourist knows this place. Take your own risk, you will pay off

John this video was really helpful during our motorbike trip in Vietnam, as you said, ban Giok Waterfalls is just out of this world, also ql 15 and ql 14 was the most beautiful road i ever drove. by the way many thanks for the amazing service you provide in Tigit, we rent motorbike there in your 3 offices and the standards are really high.

Thanks to this video i just rode from Da Nang to Phong Nha along the HCM trail and yes that section from Khe Sahn to Phong Nha is truly spectacular on a grand scale. Then i rode back the same way! Cheers!!

"An abomination of mud" so true what you say about the north-west! I've been there leading a tour on Harleys... Oh boy that was a though part! Especially around Moc Châu and Mu Cang Chai, long stretches of mudslides. Touring around Ba Be Lake wasn't that easy as well but undoubtedly wonderful landscape.

I am planning a trip in April-May 2025, a total of 28 days. I plan to ride from Hanoi to HCM in 18 days. Is that realistic and will it give me enough time to do some local sight-seeing along the route? Would you recommend Hanoi to HCM or HCM to Hanoi?

18 days is fine. HCM to Hanoi is best as the riding tends to get better each day. But in the end it doesn't really matter

@@Tigitmotorbikes You have sold me on renting the Honda XR150 which will be no problem for me to handle as I own/ride a 2023 KLX300SM. I am watching as many of your videos as possible and with a year to plan I think I will be ok. When would you recommend that I reserve a bike in advance of my trip? I am aiming to be in Vietnam by April 21, 2025, so if I put in a reservation on March 1st for a 1 month rental would that work?

You could have plugged the Đèo Cả pass. For my money is better than the Hải Vân pass.

There are many amazing passes in Vietnam. I could talk for hours on this topic :) The Hai Van pass is the famous one people come to see which is why it is suggested in this video. I state I feel the Hai Van Pass is over rated. Thanks for the feedback, and hope you enjoyed the video!
