Motorcycle builder Suzy Pilaczynski of Old-Stf Cycle Shop in Yuba City, California, showcases her award-winning Hexaglide chopper - a 1977 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead 74ci with a modified Billy Grulke frame from the ’70s and house-fabricated wheels.
These days, Suzy is finishing up her latest build, for Born Free 12. She is the first woman to be invited to the event.
“What excites me [during the creation process] is seeing the fusion of art and technology coming together with traditional methods of building and the implementation of new materials,” she shares. “It opens up endless possibilities to create one-of-a-kind bikes, while also staying true to the overall aesthetic.”
