Motorcycle Diaries - Ireland 2014 

Pat Fleming I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kind words, thank you. We did stop in Cork but only long enough for a coffee and we were off again. At the beginning of this trip we weren’t sure what to expect to be honest, none of us had ever been to Ireland before. We took so much wet weather kit as well. However from the onset it was clear we were welcome, everyone we met was lovely, cheerful and very helpful. We couldn’t believe our luck with with the weather, in fact there was one point on the R600 where we stopped at the mouth of of the River Arigideen and my friend made a comment about how we could almost be in Greece as we looked out over the water at the view, it was beautiful. We started the trip with a plan for the week which changed as we spoke to locals and improved every day. We got as far as Galway on the Wild Atlantic Way and had to head back to Dublin but we’ll definitely be back to do the rest. Hopefully that film will also get lovely comments such as yours, thanks again.

+Tim Lee Best advice I can give is talking to the locals. This route is quite different to one I planned and after listening to local advice ended up with the ride of a lifetime. Safe ride and enjoy Ireland.

I'm going back this year to complete the Northern section. With 3 weeks you'll easily do the entire coastline of Ireland, I envy you. Good look and safe riding.

Neil Fitzgerald Thanks very much for the kind comments. I've been recorded our rides out for the last three years and like to think each one is a little better than the last. I totally agree that if your going to do it don't just strap a camera to the front of the bike, give a little more if you can. Really appreciate the comments Neil.

+Wozza kirk Recomend it buddy. I'm planning to go back next year and finish of the coast, Dublin, anti-clockwise to Galway, Irish coast done! Good luck with yours, hope you get the weather we had.

Thanks Neil. Book your first and last night's accommodation and after that follow your nose. Listen to the locals for the best places to stay and then book day by day after that. If you have the time try and limit your actual on bike hours to two or three a day so you have time to stop and admire the views. We are going back this September to finish the Northern section so look forward to the next exciting episode.

Neil Widdison. The Healy pass and the Beara penibsula are beautiful....if you like magical places defnitely ride down the narrow lane to Uragh stone circle...i did...it was so worth it...a stunning little stone circle set between 2 lakes.

+ant can If I was to do it again (which is a cert), I'd venture inland a bit more. The coast is great but there's so much more to see a week is not long enough.
